Let's go back and look at what dems thought of republicans during Obama.. Bush... Clinton... Bush... Reagan.. how far back do you want to go? Because the left showed ZERO of this level of respect for republican Patriotism under ANY of those administrations.. they HATED republicans.. there was no "as we knew them to be Patriots" BS...

The left cheered when an Iraqi threw a shoe at President Bush... they said the most hateful things imaginable about Reagan, even when both President and Mrs. Reagan died..

So get out of here with this notion that the left has ever had any level of respect for the average republican because it just flat out isn't true.. you may think you hate the ones now MORE.. but you hated them then too.

In fact, had the sides EVER showed the level of respect for each other that you are insinuating.. Trump would have never happened.

The part you probably don't want to accept is the there isn't this big chasm between the way democrats act and the way republicans act.. in fact it's pretty much the same.

Funny, I was a republican until the middle of Bush's second term and I don't remember liberals ever being as bad or allowing such anti american acts by a Potus. I couldn't stand Clinton, but I never acted even remotely like republicans did when the tea party rolled on Obama. That was the spark that led us here IMHO. BUT none of that excuses what we are witnessing out of the right today, while our bigly stupid and greatly corrupt nero fiddles.

The more the D’s And R’s split, the opening for a purple party becomes more likely.

As for both 'sides' being the same - I think there are elements of both sides that are the same for sure. There are extremes everywhere in life - none or few of them are positive/good. . . . But I think that there is a much larger majority that are more centrist and have a lot more in common. That ignore the media extremes & propaganda ... although personally I think there are larger numbers who take Fox News as gospel than any influence the extreme left wing media has.

However - all of that is really distraction and deflection, because the issue is Trump. He's the leader of the free world. He's the personification of the USA and American values and what we represent at this moment in time. People may have disliked Obama, but he wasn't acting in such a way that his AG had to come out and say that Obama is protected because he is above the law. Obama wasn't abusing power so that defenders of Obama had to come out and say "Abuse of Power is not an impeachable offense" ...

Trump is a horrible, egotistical bully of a leader - he breeds hate and division and spits on and pees on the Constitution and American institutions, organizations and norms. That is the issue. Period. Oh - and he is a habitual and pathological liar.
Obama said "you can keep your Dr" - and it's parroted like it defined Obama and his evilness by the "right" ... Trump lies every day about everything and .... crickets.

If you are referring to those GOPers that would stand up to Trump, I think we're going to get a chance to see in the coming months.

I fully expect the house to impeach Trump. The test will be in the Senate.

The senate will not be a test. As most politicians on both sides do, they will do what they think is the most expedient for their political careers.

They will stand behind Trump no matter what.

Of course they are going to impeach. They have been wanting to do that since he was elected over Hillary.

It's all a political move because they know they don't have anybody electable as it stands now.
