Please inform me of how any laws have changed since Trump was elected that has made assault rifles easier to obtain.

The Posse Comitatus Act limits the use of troops to border protection or to support state and local officers in times of riot.

If a Governor allocated State Police(troopers) to guarding schools, then called on National Guard support, maybe it would fly, but no, you couldn't have active military or national guard protecting schools.

At least as the laws now read.

I think it would be better if every parent with a child in school was required to monitor halls once or twice a school year. Give them radios to the school officer and alert of a problem. Maybe go with 2 officers a school.

Only have 1 door open to go in, and 2 parents at every door to monitor, I think it would work.

Obviously it would have to be like jury duty. A parents employer would have to pay them when called for monitor duty.

On any given day you might have 15 adults walking the grounds. Watching doors...watching children.. the goods ones and the bad ones.

If I was in charge, I'd make that a law tomorrow.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

A Sadi foreign national in Florida was legally allowed to buy a semi auto from a private dealer and get a hunting license. Then he ended up killing US citizens on a Naval base in Pensacola Fl. instead of hunting dear in the woods. Ever try buying a gun in Sadi Arabia?

How many laws have changed since trump was elected that has made it harder to obtain an assault rifle? Facts remain the same. It’s easier for children to arm themselves then it is for public schools to arm teachers. What’s wrong with that picture?

Then it isn't about the "Trump era" at all. That's all I was trying to get at. I understand people are frustrated with some of the laws and our background checks. I also realize many are frustrated with Trump.

But to blame it on the "Trump era" I thought was placing the blame on Trump for the current situation as it pertains to gun violence. I found that part of it rather disingenuous.
