Will the NFL consider this with Garrett's reinstatement?

I don't.

At the rate Freddie puts nails in his coffin it's as if he's using a nail gun.

I hope this is photoshopped. If not, this isn't the action of a mature head coach, especially heading into the week you're playing that team.

It’s not photoshopped. He said his daughter bought him the shirt as a joke.

From the head coach on down to the 53rd player, is there an adult anywhere in the room?

Not where you'd expect, at least

So of course it made it to espn and the Browns had to come out say something about it.

How can the players respect Freddie's messages when he doesn't exhibit those behaviors himself? Watches, cleats, taunting penalties, t-shirts...it's always something.

So disappointing.

I don't see what the big problem is. The head coach sticks up for his team, I like it. Also, it is not like he was flaunting it, in the picture it is covered by his jacket. It's not like he wore it to a press conference. The media will play it up as usual, and fans like yourself will overreact.

As far as this giving Pittsburgh extra juice, I believe they already are fired up for this game. How is this any worse than Tomlin saying his team did nothing to start the fight?

If it's not a big problem, why did the Browns come out and say something?

It's not an overreaction. It's continued evidence of why this team is not successful.

I am with Rishuz on this. Fans wearing this shirt is one thing, the coach in his own home is also fine. But, once he dons it outside of his house and is seen by the public wearing it it sends a message of unprofessionalism. A coach should place him or herself above matters like this.

That said...I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but it's another look that Freddie choosing to wear this in public is evidence that he doesn't hold his players accountable and that discipline & professionalism is definitely being challenged in this locker room. The irony is that those who were anti-Gregg's promotion due to his bounty gate and reputation are fiercely defending Freddie (note: I WAS NOT a Gregg supporter, but I read that argument against him in this forum).

But, this is also the media stirring things up (just look at the coverage map and the sea of red across the country that are broadcasting our game...as with watching the Indy 500....people are hoping for more high jinx drama). If we win and there's no major issues all of this will be a mute point so....I guess it is what it is.

Gregg Williams being a super douche has nothing to do with this. Apples and oranges.

Win the game and no one cares. Some will even like it more.

If we win, nobody will care at all.

If we lose, everyone will hate him again.

Completely disagree.

It's no different than situational awareness like you expect on the field.

If Freddie weren't the coach anymore and the incident was years in the rear view, then yeah I'd say no big deal. You have an incident that is very fresh, very dramatic, and very inciteful and you're just adding fuel to the fire. And oh yeah, you're playing that team again in a day or two.

It is no surprise at all this team is 4-6.

Really?

So professional players need more motivation outside of playing for a playoff spot?

And some silly t-shirt is going to someone add to what has already happened?

And then that is going to give them a competitive advantage?

Really?

And it is going to last all game? That they are going to have this extra motivation?

If that determines this game we don't need to watch.

I prefer the coach to be more professional, and for the players to have the personality.

But, I wont complain about this because Tomlinson did the whole yawning thing when asked about playing us, AND NOT A SINGLE PERSON COMPLAINED.

So, rock on Freddie.

It's not the action of wearing a T-shirt. It's that wearing the T-shirt is a symptom. Again, it's no surprise we have a losing record.

And who cares about Tomlin? He's not the coach of the Browns.

I'm all for becoming the bullies against the Steelers. Do it on the field.

No offense really.

But I think you are reading way to much into this.

His daughter gets the t-shirt for a joke and he goes to a movie wearing it with his daughter.

And this is somehow a symptom of something?

If Freddie is bad head coach I doubt that this sort of thing is part of it.

It's a symptom of poor judgment.

Have you seen the coach or team exhibit poor judgment this year?

I see poor judgement all the time throughout the league.

I just don't think this a big deal at all.

I think people too uptight about this. It’s funny. People will always find something to be offended by if they are looking for it

It’s not like the t-shirt is inaccurate.

LOVE THIS. Just had dinner with my brother and father, both of whom are diehard Steelers fans. They think Myles should be gone for half the season next year and Rudolph is clean as a whistle (they also think he sucks though and they are glad he isn't playing tomorrow). But really... screw the Steelers. My father lives here in the Cleveland area but is originally from Pittsburgh area. He used to say that he "likes the Browns too" but you can't have it both ways, man. He liked the Browns when they gave up two easy wins. I remember all the crap I had to take when the Steelers crushed the Browns on Christmas Eve one year... it may not have anything to do with this exact situation, but screw the Steelers. I'd so much rather see this than that LAME apology the organization issued to the Steelers the day after the last Pittsburgh game.

Personally I think Freddie showed poor leadership by wearing that in public... but I would sport that shirt as a fan with no issue. And I agree that Freddie isn't the brightest bulb in the box.

I don’t like the optics. He’s an NFL coach - he should act like one.

We've just won three straight games and all people can do is whine about a stupid T-shirt? Where the hell did these "fans" come from?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
