NFL Network's Ian Rapoport does not believe Patriots OC Josh McDaniels is the favorite for the Browns head coach vacancy.

McDaniels was expected to take on the head coach role in Indianapolis last season before backing out at the last minute to remain in New England. Now Cleveland is showing interest, but Vikings OC Kevin Stefanski and Eagles DC Jim Schwartz are reportedly higher on Paul DePodesta's list of candidates. Both coaches are proponents of analytics and DePodesta was part of the analytics movement in baseball before becoming Cleveland's Chief Strategy Officer.

If Haslam’s get their way, it’s McDaniels and Depo is out.

If Depo gets his way, it’s Stefanski, Saleh, or Schwartz

You literally are lying through your teeth, or just plain don't know what your talking about. Either way, your not worth my time even discussing with you

Now I am lying??? About what??? It is well documented that Brady calls his own plays. It is well documented, the disasters of Denver and Indianapolis and his part in them.

I don't accuse you of "lying" In fact I want you to tell me why you think the way you do...I want to understand the appeal so that I don't have to feel so bad about possibly hiring him.

But you are unwilling to do so...you have one comment about possession of property. Not what his actions were to obtain such property. Just that he owns the property...Looks like your opinion is the one that is not worth the time...
Show me where brady calls the plays. its well documented, post a link.

So you can't Google "Tom Brady Calls his own plays"?????

Here is one from 2018 season.
https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patriots/belichick-praises-bradys-leadership-and-play-calling

Here is some from 2017
https://patriotswire.usatoday.com/2017/0...lling-mistakes/
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2689...super-bowl-edge

do your own research..
Hahahaha

1st - you made the claim that he called plays, against the fact that Josh McDaniels is the playcaller, which is. Its on you to back your claim, not me. That's how this thing works. Read the rules of the board for clarification, son.

2nd - you should read your own article, it talks how brady is good at reading PRE-SNAP defenses, and "GETS THEM OUT OF PLAYS". Do you know that means? They are talking about Tom calling an AUIDIBLE. Not calling he offense as the playcaller. SMH.

Literally every LINK you provide says how Tom CHANGES plays, he doesn't call the plays. I don't think you know how football works.

Me too. I hope that every coach and player that is a member of the Cleveland Browns succeeds while they are here.

I like Schwartz, but won't care who we hire. Just get it done.

Some people take a position and hate to be wrong. On some subjects it might be called for, but on who we hire? Nobody knows, except maybe the team.

The team has done what, 6-7 interviews to this point? Right now they know which one of those guys will be hired. Now we talk to McDaniel. If he comes out on top, he gets the job. If we feel the other guy is better, he gets the job. It boils down to McDaniels and one other coach at this point.

Frankly, IDC who we hire. Josh, Swartz, Stefanski.

Honestly, I cannot see a single one of them worse than Freddie or Hue.

I completely agree with you on people hating to be wrong. And then when its pointed out they are wrong, they double down on their wrong-ness.

Exactly, we are all just a bunch of kids throwing around opinions like we are in the know.

I don't have a clue at this point. I may have someone I want, but that doesn't mean I don't want the others.

I will line up behind whoever we hire and take it from there.

Soon we will get the I told you so threads and hear others call the guy a bum.

Whoever we hire, I am behind them 100%

1. What's the point of a visor?

I understand that. I don't understand why a person wears a visor. If you're going to wear a visor why not just wear a hat?

Wouldn't a visor give a person hat hair just as much as a hat would? Maybe even worse? If you want to show off your hair just have no headwear and sunglasses.

It's just a lot easier to take the position of "this guy is going to fail" because, well, history is on your side. 100% of our coaches, GMs, QBs have failed for the last 20 years so predicting that the next one will fail is where the safe (easy) money is.....

Some of us just choose to fight through with some optimism that we have to get it right eventually... don't we?

People blast Daboll for when he was here ...... like they blasted Bruce Arians when he was here ..... but what did they have to work with?

In 2009, he had Quinn and Anderson. He did get over 2000 yards rushing out (mainly) of Jerome Harrison and a broen down Jamal Lewis.

In 2010, he had Colt McCoy, Jake Delhomme, and Seneca Wallace at QB. He got 1100 yards out of Peyton Hillis .... ut we had nothing else at RB. We had Ben Watson ... but then we had WR luminaries such as Massaquoi, Stuckey, Evan Moore, and Brian Robiske.

When you have almost no talent, it is hard to be successful.

In terms of Daboll, he wouldn’t be a top choice for me, but what do I know? (For that matter, what do the Haslams know lol).

I think any OC or HC with an OC background is going to want this job given the RBs, WRs, and young QB. Nobody could do worse than FK

How about a blockbuster, 10 yr deal for McDaniels? That would show we're serious about being committed long term.
