The day time soaps easily overshadowed the impeachment ratings. According to NewsBusters, CBS's "The Young & The Restless" has been averaging 3.7 million viewers during the 2019-2020 season and "The Bold & The Beautiful" averages 3.15 million viewers. ABC's "General Hospital" averages 2.15 million viewers while NBC's "Days of Our Lives" averages 1.95 million viewers.

(CNN)A reporter for National Public Radio alleged Friday that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo screamed obscenities and demanded she prove she could find Ukraine on an unmarked map after she asked -- and Pompeo refused to answer -- whether he owed former US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch an apology.

In an interview aired on NPR's "All Things Considered" on Friday, Pompeo instead replied to NPR's Mary Louise Kelly question by saying, "You know, I agreed to come on your show today to talk about Iran. That's what I intend to do. I know what our Ukraine policy has been now for the three years of this administration."
He then repeatedly tried to end the interview as Kelly continued to press him on the matter. To her last question on whether Ukraine policy had been hijacked, Pompeo replied, "I've been clear about that. I know exactly what we were doing. I know precisely what the direction the State Department gave to our officials around the world about how to manage our Ukraine policy."
Speaking after the interview aired, Kelly described how she was called back into Pompeo's living room at the State Department after the interview, where the outburst then unfolded.
"What is happening (at the end) there is an aide has stopped the interview, said, 'We're done, thank you,' and you heard me thank the secretary," Kelly said on air after the fact. "He did not reply -- he leaned in, glared at me, and then turned and with his aides left the room."
Kelly said that moments later, "That same staffer who stopped the interview reappeared, asked me to come with her -- just me, no recorder -- though she did not say we were off the record, nor would I have agreed."
Kelly was brought to Pompeo's private living room, she continued, "where he was waiting and where he shouted at me for about (the) same amount of time as the interview itself had lasted."
Pompeo was displeased about the Ukraine questioning, and asked her, "Do you think Americans care about Ukraine?" Kelly said, adding that "he used the F-word in that sentence and many others."
Pompeo then asked Kelly if she could find Ukraine on a map, she recounted, and when she said that she could, "He called out for aides to bring us a map of the world with no writing."
"I pointed to Ukraine. He put the map away. He said, 'People will hear about this,'" Kelly said. "And then he turned, said he had things to do and I thanked him again for his time and left."
CNN has reached out to the State Department for comment on the exchange.
Kelly said that NPR had reached out to the State Department to inform them that the outlet would be reporting on the interview's aftermath, but had not heard back. The news comes in light of Pompeo's impending trip to Ukraine next week -- the country at the heart of the currently ongoing impeachment trial.

It is embarrassing to have a president that talks like a 8 year old. He is a disgrace to the office for this reason alone. He has no respect for the office he holds. Why must he act like a child while the world laughs at us.

They've already watched enough to know that the GOP is hiding witnesses and stopping them from testifying. Over 70% of Americans want witnesses to testify.

Innocent people don't try to stop witnesses from testifying and refuse to turn over pertinent documents if they would prove your innocence.

At that point 70% of the public understand the whole thing is a cover up. No need to really watch anymore of it.

Problem is he does noy have to prove his innocence, It was the Democrats that must prove he is guilty. They should have went that route in the house. They did not and now cry about it.

Who asked him to prove his innocence? The question is why would you obstruct witnesses from testifying if you're innocent? Why would you hide documents if you're innocent?

70% of American simply want to see everything and then decide. They're tired of seeing what looks like a cover up because facts are being hidden. When is looking at all of the facts trying to prove innocence?

People who are educated understand this is not about Trump vs. the House. It is about the Executive Branch vs. the Legislative Branch.

Trump and all future Presidents are effected by this Legislative attempt at gaining power that is not theirs to have.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights give the Executive Branch certain powers when dealing with the Legislative Branch and vise versa, like Due Process and Executive Privilege.

An education on how our Country actually works is advised.

The house rushed the process because it is all political. They have no case and just wanted to score political points. This call for witnesses is not going to happen. The citizens are not even paying attention. The result was known when it started,

President Trump had until Sept 30 to release the money. He released it on Sept 11. Case closed.

I guess you must believe that not allowing the entire story be told somehow helps your case. It doesn't. We'll never know how strong the case it because the whole story is being covered up.

Even an MSNBC anchor knows they did not prove enough for obstruction of congress. Also, the President has executive privilege that he could evoke all the way to the supreme court and only the supreme court can over rule that privilege. The Dems knew this going in. That is why they did not press the issue in the house. The whole thing is political and about this November's election.

In your world maybe. But the reality is Trump was not authorized to place a hold on the monies. He was especially not authorized to withhold the aid - to an ally at war with Russia - in order to pressure and coerce that ally to announce an investigation with the only intent to undermine a political opponent. That's as simple as it gets. Trump's own Gov't has confirmed the hold was illegal. Witness testimony has verified it was Trump that withheld the money and it was withheld for the purposes of coercing Ukraine .... period. It's a slam dunk. Except it you drink the Trump koolaid... and clearly you drink it, bathe in it and sleep it.

No-one has heard the TRANSCRIPT of the call - because it was locked and sealed away because the WH lawyers were so worried about it.

The money was only released AFTER the whistle-blower stepped forward.

The aid was put on hold 90 minutes after the 'perfect phone call'.

Trump has not cooperated at any step of the way, when legally he was obliged to do so.

We have texts and calls between Parnas/Guiliani/Nunes and others clearly with the intent of pressuring Ukraine to announce this investigation into Biden's Ukraine company.

The list is very very long - anyone but Trump would be tried and convicted.

Donald Trump's lawyers defended the president against articles of impeachment Saturday morning arguing it’s the Democrats trying to interfere in elections by seeking to remove Trump from the 2020 ballot for doing “absolutely nothing wrong.”

White House Counsel Pat Cipollone said Democrats have no case and are doing damage to democracy by trying to undermine the will of American voters.

Moreover, while Trump's lawyers complain of not hearing testimony from direct witnesses, the defense could easily solve that problem by retracting Trump's sweeping directive barring all executive branch officials across six agencies from cooperating with Congress' impeachment inquiry.

A trial has witnesses. What the senate is conducting is a sham. If there were witnesses I’d tune in and watch little hands donny get dragged through the muck he’s made.

Just curious here... An anonymous whistle blower comes out after the dem's have tried for years to impeach, and makes anonymous allegations.

I distinctly remember some dem's on here using trump saying 'russia, if you're listening....." and taking that as proof of russia conspiring to change the election where hillary lost. Look at who donated what to hillaries campaign.

And, has Schiff made an accurate and correct statement yet, provable by facts? Remember his 'testimony' of trumps phone call? 100% made up, and false, yet taken as testimony.

The proof against trump? 2nd, 3rd, and 4th hand rumors.

The hatred and diatribe feelings about trump surfaced even before he was sworn in as president and they haven't stopped yet.

The dem's swore to impeach him from day 1. That was the first mistake they made but I don't think they, to this day, realize it. Many of them have been quoted as saying things like "if we don't impeach him, he'll probably win again." That says more about them and the dem. candidates than anything.

But, an anonymous person, after years of the dem's trying to find something/anything, and false testimony and made up accusations is what the dem's have now?

And Schiff stated something along the lines of 'the w.h. has said they'll have any republican that votes against trump head on a pike?
