How do you feel about the FACT that this woman induces labor then killed her child???? and do you agree or disagree that abortion is the same thing this woman did. She just did it on her own without a DR.

she was in her third trimester, which means the baby has both a brain and heartbeat, and i've made it clear that after a while abortions should only be allowed for emergencies.

so again, she killed the baby, the cops arrested her.

sounds like the law is working as intended. no need for new ones.

So you admit that she killed the baby, but if she would have done it through a DR then she wouldnt have killed it????

she wouldnt had been able to go to a Dr. in this state because its illegal unless its a medical emergency.

im sticking with the facts of the case while you dig into your feelings.

For very obvious reasons i dont see a connection between this story and legal abortion .... trying to compare and associate the two issues isnt rational

I already have thousands of times. It's those who support murdering babies that have a problem with me.

If we found a blob of cells inside an orb on the planet Mars and scientists said they would develop into an alien if allowed to grow, those people you mentioned would be screaming, "LIFE!!!".

Then if someone crushed that orb because it was expensive to care for, they would be screaming, "MURDERER!!!".

I think hitory books will look very un kind on Abortion in the United States. It is mass murder that is worse than Nazi Germany. The killing of the most innocent is pure and simply genocide. Terrible.

GM, third trimester is usually viable added to the fact that they induced labor and gave live birth... this is murder/manslaughter by neglect.

He makes it sound like everyone who is pro choice goes around carrying signs that tell women they should have abortions. Like we all support women do this.

They can't seem to comprehend that many of us don't like it, don't agree with it and don't promote it.

Just because we aren't single issue voters and even are willing to give people a choice when we disagree with their actions, we must somehow support it.

As a couple these parents decided together to induce the birth of their child and let it die neglected. They both made a horrible decision and both will pay the consequences. Let the rule of law throw the book at them.

While I agree with you and swish on this one, I've seen far worse takes on hotbutton topics.

This is the image that each Pro-Life person has in their head when they lay out their arguments. Like in many over-worn debates, it's an incomplete-at-best picture.

I choose to believe that GM presented the link to at least try to start meaningful debate. To that end, I have a hard time hassling him about the post.

Yet this post has nothing to do with legal or illegal abortion. A baby was born. It breathed air then died a horrible death neglected by both parents.

I believe you're right in his intent. He's a good guy.

But when you look at the words, the actual message sent by them, I stand by my response.

Doesn't look like Anti Abortion laws would have stopped this. I mean, they committed a crime for which I hope they pay the price.

As for Abortion as a whole, you know my thoughts. I don't like it.

But I also don't feel I have the right to tell someone what they can and can't do with their own bodies.

Why isn't it rational? If she had gone in just 3 months sooner and had a DR kill the baby you would call it abortion and not give it a second thought. But since she did it herself 3 months later you call her a murderer and want her punished. Now that is not rational.

Like doctor assisted suicide.... I'm not sure I'd have the courage to take my own life, But I'd like it not to be a crime.

Drugs are another problem....Drinking as well. Do what you want, but if you get behind the wheel of a car and kill someone while you are driving drunk, then you gotta pay.

But back to abortion, the faithful among us will fight to stop abortion, then when the baby is born, for the most part, they are no where to be found...

While I was born and raised Catholic, I don't want my religious beliefs to enter into running the country. We have diverse beliefs and our constitution allows us all to practice those beliefs as we wish.

If we follow the teachings of one religion nationally, we may end up stopping those that practice differently to lose their rights.

You can see it now with Trump in office.

Do you notice a trend in these conversations both here and in Wash DC? Once again it's men doing all the talking, judging and "moral" deciding about abortion and women's bodies.

It's an odd situation isn't it?

They support politicians who are against abortion which they feel strongly about. And I understand that. They claim to be pro life.

Yet those same politicians work to undermine every social program that would help these children once they are born. Often times these babies are born drug addicted. Into drug addicted homes, into poverty and into abusive situations. Yet the same people they support with their vote do nothing to help bolster programs to help these children after they're born.

The fact of the matter is these people are pro birth, not pro life.

Well, another fact is that among the dem candidates running for President most of them have waffled on 3rd trimester abortion, probably so as not to risk alienating a part of the base.. but most of their answers when asked specifically about it have said something along the lines of "these are personal decisions to be made by the woman and her family blahblahblah"...

So disregarding what the law is NOW, since the law can change, how do you view it? If the law changed and allowed third trimester abortions, would you still consider this a crime?

I wouldn’t support the law, but if it passed so be it. Again, I can’t pretend that I would lose any sleep over it.

To say that the decision to have third trimester abortion should be up to woman and doctor is the same as supporting the right to third trimester abortion

Bernie Sanders was asked if he supported abortion up to birth. He said “ these are very rare, and people want to make an issue out of it, but that choice should be up to a woman and her doctor

He supports the right to have an abortion up to birth. How abominable.

Both sides only acknowledge slippery slopes when it benefits them.

You do realize you just committed the slippery slope fallacy, right?

If your schtick is going to be trying to riff off of me and a few others on how we deconstruct arguments, please get better at making sure you don’t make the same mistakes as those you look to show for who they are.
