I'm a Reds fan but the decision is pretty simple for me. Do I root for Cleveland or New York? Gee that's a tough one.
I hope you guys go all the way, of course I'd love to see Cleveland win a championship.

I'll be there. Probably leaving work (just down the street from the Jake) around 2:30-3pm, find a nice barstool along Huron or Prospect and enjoy the pregame atmosphere. Supposed to be a great evening - high 60's.

I might be at either spot. Wearing a navy chief wahoo cap, and navy hoodie with a red "script" I on the front. Introduce yourself if you see someone fitting that description.

Who's heading to the game today? Anyone catching drinks downtown beforehand?
I'll be there around 5pm - I'm coming in from Columbus, my brother from Cincy, and my dad from Toledo. My bro has a room at the Hilton across from the Jake.
Do either of those places server food? My dad and bro anen't much into pre-game drinking, but they want to eat. I'll have some brews though. Maybe we'll see ya there...

Yes, they both have great food actually, and are a great pregame spot.
If you have never had a Panini I would suggest going there and trying that.

Like 2119 said, can't go wrong with Panini's on 9th and Prospect, and there is a decent restaurant inside the Hilton Garden (name escapes me right now...), but there is also a hidden gem about a block down Carnegie from the Hilton - The Juniper Grille. Awesome food at good prices, just make a right (away from the Jake) as you exit the hotel on Carnegie, and it's about 500ft. down the road, just before E. 14th.
Can also try out Local Heroes (the old Cooperstown), they have your typical bar food.

Someone needs to buy a little trinket for Joc-O-Scot and put it on his grave in the Erie Street Cemetery. Memorial for Indian Sauk Chief Joc-O-Sot, 1810-1844. This is the site of the cemetery's most notorious ghost. Joc-O-Sot was a tribe leader who fought in the Black Hawk war against the U.S. in 1830. At that time, he sustained a gunshot wound, but survived. After the war, in an effort to earn money for his tribe, Joc-O-Sot later joined a vaudeville troupe in Cleveland. During his theatre group's tour of England, he fell ill as a result of complications from his gunshot wound from over ten years before. His illness caused him to return to Cleveland. Legend states that Joc-O-Sot knew he was dying and tried to return to his native land in Minnesota so to that he could die and be buried next to his ancestors. He never made it out of Cleveland, and died within the Warehouse District. He is buried at this grave in Erie Street Cemetery. Joc-O-Sot's spirit never rested, they say. He still wanders the cemetery, bitter over having been buried here instead of his native land. In anger, Joc-O-Sot's spirit shattered his original tombstone. If he is having a particularly bad day, Joc-O-Sot also haunts the nearby Cleveland Indians Baseball Stadium . web page

Anyone else not getting anything done at work today or is it just me? I am an anxious mess right now. I can't wait till this starts. So much build up compared to the past where the playoffs started on the Tuesday after the season. This is just too much.

Absolutely nothing.
Let me give you the scene downtown - over 50% of downtown was in Tribe apparel today at the office. Those that were not have already taken half days and are on their way to the bars. Had a lot of people just come in the club today to shower and change, then get their drink on.
Buddy called me 5 minutes ago, said Panini's and Clevelander are already pretty packed. Gorgeous day downtown - sunny and 75 with a slight breeze off the Lake.
With all that said, there are a decent amount of Yankee fans wearing their garbage around the streets.

Cool, Yeah I just wish I could be their today. I will be their if we win 8 more games. Gonna be tough but I know we can do it if we relax and play our game.
Glad to hear the weather is in line. Sounds like everyone is taking plenty of time to lube up before the game which is good so at least our fans will jeer the Yankee fans a bit and show em it's our house.

Wow, I'm normally a total wreck for any big Cleveland game. I'm suprisingly very relaxed. Confidence? Maybe.

The only thing I've really thought about in regards to this series....is Arod. I think that's the national media's take on this series.
Will he play well? Will he continue to choke? Can the Yanks win despite his struggles? Will his lack of recent playoff numbers make the Yanks lose?
Skip Bayless said that the Yanks will lose the series and Arod will have 0 RBI's. I don't know about who wins the series.....but I'd be willing to bet the mortgage payment that Arod, Mr. 156 RBI's in the regular season, will get at least ONE RBI against the Tribe. Crazy!

If ARod goes without an RBI that would be great. However, I would rather Jeter go without an RBI. Better yet, how about both get the big goose egg.
I hate the Yanks and hope we throttle them. As long as we are sound defensively we should be fine. I am not necessarily worried about their lineup that is on fire. Big deal. Pitching and Defensive wins in the playoffs.
My biggest concern is the fact that the Tribe just doesn't seem to bunt much or doesn't bunt very well. Gotta move over runners and get them in. Small ball is important now.

I am torn on this game. First and foremost I am a Reds fan. However a postseason hasn't been in the cards for awhile.
However my next two favorite teams after the Reds are the Yankees and the Indians. I root for the Indians because I'm a Browns fan and they are the 2nd team of ohio. If they are in the post season and the Reds aren't, I'm usually rootin for them.
That being said, my dad is a big yankees fan and his loayalty to them has sorta rubbed off on me. I really wish the schedules would have been switched where they weren't meeting in the first round but rather the ALCS so at least one team I like would go. Just as long as Boston doesn't win it all. I HATE BOSTON
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Sounds like you might be more of a Yankees supporter than a Tribe supporter. We might have to ask the refs to ban you!!! I obviously am pulling for the Tribe but I am rooting for the Angels too. There is nothing better than to have the Red Sox and the Yankees BOTH out of the playoffs. I think the heads of the execs at ESPN will explode if that happened. They would have a fit not being able to start every Sportscenter with a Yankees or Red Sox highlight/story. If it ends up being Sox vs. Yankees, I will not even watch.

I am hoping New York is banking on the Tribe NOT doing this, and then of course, hoping the Tribe will ram Small Ball down their throats.
Somehow, I'm just not feeling it.

I've got the game loaded on Sopcast and am counting down the minutes. Unfortunately, Time Warner is down in all of Athens and has been all day. Luckily I don't use their internet. I'm hoping they get this fixed by 6:30.
