True, but he isn't the Pettite of old, but I am sure Wedge will instill it into this team right after tonights game is over that the battle is not over, and I know they know what Pettite can do, and they will be ready.

I'm not sure I agree with bringing in Betancourt, especially with this lead. I'd have left in Lewis. Unless Wedge just wants to keep Betancourt sharp. Personally, I'd have saved him.

Actually a good move to bring him in.
We haven't played for a few days, shakes some of the rust off. No need to overuse some arms in the bullpen.

I was just thinking the same thing, but I think you got it right, Wedge just wants to keep him sharp, and keep the score as is. Confidence baby confidence.

I can deal with the big and fat part, but why did you have to go there with the stinky???
How in the world can you fix something... If you don't know how it's supposed to work?

Wedge shouldn't have wasted Raffy...22 pitches might put him out of tomorrow's game. Well, I don't know......we'll see what he says in the postgame presser.
Good game.
10 more wins to go.

Got the first one, and it's a big one. Great job by the Indians tonight, they played extremely well and played liked season vets who have been there before though we haven't. Looks like this team wants to make a statement, 10 more wins and they will.

The Tribe need to keep those bats swinging... seems that they've turned it on again in the last month so coming into this game and putting up 12 is beautiful. Lets hope they do it again.

I just got home and man the crowd was loud! The atmosphere was electric,,I love the post season! I forgot how it was. I was at the first game at the Jake in 1997 when Grissom stole home to win the game and the crowd tonight was jacked up a lil more then back then. And how about showing everyone that we are for real!! Nothing better than bringing out the whoopin stick against the evil empire to show that were in this to win! It was a long hard road but were back where we belong!! GO TRIBE!

petitte in the playoffs, has an amazing record after a yankee loss...
We owned Petitte in the Playoffs at The Jake when he was 10 years younger. I predict we'll see the Yankee bullpen early today. I was hoping they'd give us a chance to tear apart Joba last night, but tonight works for me too.

i don't see anyone scoring runs like we did last night...
this will be a very tight game, but with fauso on the mound, we should win, because of his stuff, i think it is better suited to play against the yankees then sabathia..
by the way, speaking of cc, last night's performance was gutsier than any single pitching performance the tribe ever had during their 90's run...
the cards were stacked heavily against him, and he came through like an ace does... i was amazed, that IS big time... that is what being the ace is all about

errrrrrr......I'm not so sure about that.
I recall a gem Martinez threw against Seattle, and let us not forget game 5 in the ALDS - Jaret Wright owned that Yankees team.

If you look at Cleveland sports this year, this has been probably about as good as it gets.
Ohio St. goes to not one, but 2 National Championships (of course they lost)
The Cavs go to their first ever NBA Finals.
The Indians are in the postseason with the results yet to be determined.
And our Browns possibly had a draft that could turn around our franchise.
We've had a LOT to cheer about this year. Cleveland is on the National sports map for sure.
Ohio State is not "Cleveland Sports"
Might want to borrow a map from Miss South Carolina.

U don't get it dude...U just don't get it...
THIS is where the Fan of the CITY has long gone...
U born in Cleveland???,,,U LIVE CAVS/BROWNS/INDIANS/BUCKEYES...
THAT'S the problem with alot of u guys...Including YOU Iam...
Browns...Red Sox...Michigan ...WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT????????????????
WHATEVER
Aren't you from Dayton? I've never once heard you mention the Flyers, the Dragons or the Bombers.
You want to know WTF it's all about? I'd tell you but I doubt you'd listen or try to understand.
As for OSU being Cleveland's team...maybe you'd have to be from Cleveland or Columbus to understand that they are very different cities despite being in the same state. OSU is in Columbus and if Cleveland tried to claim it, Columbus would come down so hard it wouldn't be funny. So Daytonian, you can judge people based on whatever criteria you deem suitable but it just doesn't matter.
jay, thanks for trying.
Happy for the Tribe, nice to see 'em whoop the Yanks.
...always have been, always will be...

The Jake was insane last night. I'm "sick" today, so I don't miss any of game 2 and because I have absolutely no voice today. None at all. Normally I'm looking forward to Friday at 5 PM for an entirely different reason...

OSU is Columbus. It's their version of an NFL team and the whole city seems to shut down when the Buckeyes play. Sure there are a ton of Buckeye fans up here in Cleveland (including me) but when you talk OSU you talk C-Bus,,not Cleveland. Not even close.
Our honor defend, we will fight to the end, for OHIO! GO BUCKS!

had a ton of fun last night up in the nosebleeds, truly not a bad seat in the house. Alot of yankees fans around me, by the 6th or 7th, they all either left or got thrown out...ton of fans got thrown out. Then one scum fan actually hit a woman in the face as he was getting escorted out. Thats when the police should have just let the fans take care of him.. but it was funny to see him walking willingly, then cuffed and carried..stupid NY fans. Then had a couple next to us, he was a indian fan and her a yankee fan. At first it was good natured ribbing everytime she walked past us to get out...then by the 7th it was dirty looks and the 8th, they left.. those mixed relationships never work
