The fact the Colts have that much with that good of team is pretty scary
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

The fact the Colts have that much with that good of team is pretty scary They have a bunch of guys on rookie deals that will need to be paid soon. Justin Houston is their highest cap hit on defense at <10M. Desir is next at ~6.8M. Having your franchise QB unexpectedly retire opens up space. Jabaal Sheard is a UFA, which was ~9M on the books last season. I think Castonzo (~11M) and Ebron (~7M) are also UFAs.
You mess with the "Bull," you get the horns. Fiercely Independent.

According to Over The Cap We Have $61,964,940 ...
Just Say We Cut Olivea Vernon ($15,500,000 Cap Hit, $0 Dead Money $15,5000,000 Cap Savings)
Christian Kirksey ($9,750,000 CH, $2.400,000 DM, $6,750,000 CS)
Chris Hubbard ($7,268,750 CH, $2,400,00 DM, $4,868, 750 CS)
That Would Increase Our Cap Money From $61,964,940 to $88,764,690 Now That's a Lot of Money to Fill a Lot of Holes (OL, LB, S, TE and DT/DE)
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Kirksey is gone. I don't want to lose Vernon unless we have something better in place. Vernon played very well when healthy. If anything sign him to a longer contract and spread the $$$ out a little.

I dont see Vernon being a loss if they cut him. He didn't do much, which isnt saying much, because I think their talent on defense is not good. While they may not have as good of a replacement, it isn't a major loss

Cutting Kirksey ,according to ESPN, frees up $6.58 million in cap space. Back to Moneyball boys and girls. Haslam is back to saving money, not spending it. But but but, he cares about winning LOL

It's 6.5mil that was spent to sit in the trainer's room a significant amount of time. Great guy, but the numbers and the eye test agree.

Great part time work if you can find it. Liked him occasionally. We need players suited up IMO.
Thanks for some thrills. Good luck.

We could save money by cutting Hubbard, Burnett, and, obviously, Vernon.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I assume Vernon will be next Do people want to see Vernon cut? I'm not understanding that one. Last I checked you need players. And good players aren't a bad thing. And the Browns and their fans love to get rid of good players. If you get rid of Vernon, who's playing opposite of Garrett?

Vernon played in what 3 games now if he is healthy I would keep him, but is he? Availability is key in whether he stays or goes

But but but, he cares about winning LOL In one post you say no big deal if we cut Vernon. In a reply to your post you moan abut cutting Kirksey who hasn't played in two years, but it is Haslam being cheap and the moneyballers. Pick a story line and stick to it. Otherwise you sound like a simpleton. Just trying to lend a helping hand.

I mean, that's what's important, isn't it? It is when you have core players to sign. It is when you are needing to go in big on a few positions to help improve this year and the next few years. Keep Kirkesy who is a frail player, or have an extra 8mil to bring in a O tackle? I know my choice.

Let's field a competitive team this year.

Other than QB, the Browns have a lot of weapons on Offense. Chubb, OBJ and Landry are all elite players. Defense is a different story. It's a mess talent wise for the most part. DL is not too bad, but LBs, CBs, and S are awful.

If you were referring to me, I was being somewhat facetious.

I dont mind cutting players that are not good players. I do mind hiring incompetent dopes like Sashi and Berry, and Farmer that don't know how to draft players and can't sign good players
