I think Burrow ironically enough will have a career like Andy Dalton. Honest question... do you mean that because of Joe Burrow, or because he's being picked by Cinci? lol chicken or the egg I think Burrows is going to very very good. jmo I don't get the Burrow/Trubisky comparison at all. Burrow is much better and quicker w/his reads. He is way more accurate. He sees the field way better. The Dalton comparison holds some water, but I think Burrow is a better natural passer of the ball. No one in this thread has compared Trubisky to Burrow. Here is what I posted and what some others have responded to: "Trubisky (replaced by Foles) and Burrow will have similar careers." Careers...not traits...not PFF stats...not rookie TD passes ...not rookie red-zone efficiency...careers.

I just think that Burrow doesn't have a huge sample size in college. I also think he is the type of QB who will be "on" or just "off".
Baker has nothing to do with my opinion on Burrow. Baker needs to stop being fat and get in the damn gym. That's my opinion on Baker.

Is Detroit just not wiling to pay Slay? He’s been a good player

Slay is a good player ... its expensive to trade and sign him like that, but I think Philly is close enough to do it

Odell Beckham Jr. is on the trading block, ESPN analyst says Updated 9:18 AM; Today 7:35 AM By Troy L. Smith, Cleveland.com The Cleveland Browns have been making moves this week to strengthen its already potent offense, including adding Atlanta Falcons stud tight end Austin Hooper. However, the team may be getting ready to unload its most talented offensive player, if you believe one ESPN analyst. Former Jets and Ravens linebacker Bart Scott made a bold claim on his ESPN Radio show “Bart and Hahn” (with broadcaster Alan Hahn) this week: Odell Beckham Jr. is likely to be traded. “Just know you heard it here first,” Scott said. “I’m telling you right now, Odell Beckham is on the trading block and it’s real right now.” Scott didn’t point to any specific inside information. But the ESPN analyst seemed confident. Bart’s words come on the heels of rumors that the Browns would be willing to trade OBJ if the right offer came along. Despite the Browns not putting anything out there to suggest such a deal could happen. L

They did, but he can be traded then OK..I figured that a deal would not happen until the guaranteed money due OBJ was paid.
The safety's name is Anthony Harris..
What I'm curious about...he only became a full time starter in 2019, starting 14 games.

They’re asking for a 2nd round pick ... not sure I’d be okay with that price. But I’ve heard/read that he’s above average

Trade him to Raiders for #12.
1. Move up from #10 to #8 and draft Simmons - if available. 2. Draft Thomas, Wills, Wirfs, Becton, or Jones at #12. 3. Sign Breshard Perriman. 4. Draft Antoine Winfield at #41.
Easy, peasy - haha.

It sounds like they're reporting something they're not even sure if they believe.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I’d sign Emmanuel Sanders then too

It sounds like they're reporting something they're not even sure if they believe. Bart Scott made it sound like he actually knew something. I don't think he'd use that exact phrasing if he didn't know something. Of course, it doesn't mean anything would happen. I'm torn on an OBJ trade. Not in favor of letting talent go. But I believe this to be true … I think Baker plays his best when he's the top dawg and can make other players better. I think the constant worry about getting OBJ the ball last year and them not being on the same page is a minus and not a plus. I think OBJ's personality is so large that Baker doesn't function well with a teammate like that. So in some ways, I can see getting rid of OBJ as addition by subtraction. Of course, keeping him can be addition by addition if they can get on the same page and figure out how to play together. I'm open to either possibility. We just need whatever is going to make Baker play his best happen.

Well said Rish ... Baker’s swagger left him last year because he wasn’t the alpha. Crazy how one person can change the chemistry and dynamic of a team. OBJ, even though he really wasn’t a distraction or diva or whatever, ruined our team last year.
Now, maybe it can be rectified and salvaged with a new coaching staff and an offseason to reflect .. but we just didn’t have “it” last year .. and the addition of OBJ did have a hand in it.

OBJ, even though he really wasn’t a distraction or diva or whatever, ruined our team last year. I have not said much about OBJ, but the comment above is spot on, imo.
I believe Baker looked deep first, trying to keep all our WRs happy...in stead of reading the defense and taking whatever he saw, making quick decisions, rather hanging onto the ball and scrambling to extend the play.
I think OBJ wanted the ball and the coaches likely encouraged Baker to look for OBJ as much as possible.
OBJ is just not a good fit for the Browns, imo.

That seems like a rather far fetched conclusion. And even if it's true, that sounds like a Baker problem.

That seems like a rather far fetched conclusion. There was nothing even remotely far fetched about it. And even if it's true, that sounds like a Baker problem. I wouldn't necessarily disagree with this. But if that's the case and you expect it to be a continuing problem, you need to identify which player is more important and cater to that player moving forward.

Our depth at WR behind Jarvis and OBJ is atrocious.
If a trade like this were to happen, WR becomes almost as big of a need as OT.
I appreciate that this is a good WR class, but come next year OBJ's contract is going to look like a steal.

I keep wondering: the more time that passes, I wonder if Higgins becomes part of our plans again. Could we sign him to a 3-4 year deal for 5-6 million per?

If you do not think he would be clamoring for re-negotiation of his contract again next year based on the escalated salaries of the WR position, you would be dreaming.

I hardly think that is a relevant fear with a non starter who is under contract. He would have no leverage. But I wouldn't mind seeing him back with the Browns.

Agreed.... unless we're getting a king's ransom in return. It MUST be more than a 1st rounder, by a good margin, too.

My question with Burrow is will he become damaged goods...I'm still smh about Andrew Luck, kid should have been one of the all time greats...instead, early retirement!

That's why the argument that "We should have picked Wentz/Watson/Jackson/etc" are all ignoring the many variables that go into success.
Burrow could be the greatest college QB of all time, and then flop on a team that doesn't have the pieces around him.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

Look no further than Andrew Luck. Not that he flopped, but because the necessary pieces were never put in place around him he never had the chance to live up to what many thought he could be. Hell, he wasn't even able to put in a full NFL career because of it.
