Mike Cernovich rose to prominence on the back of his male supremacist rhetoric before latching on to the racist and misogynistic so-called “alt-right.” He has since distanced himself from the "alt-right" after it became a liability for his brand, but still embodies its informational style, as well as its affinity for conspiracy theories and online harassment campaigns.
About Mike Cernovich
Cernovich is one of America’s most visible right-wing provocateurs, known for boosting or generating massively successful conspiracy theories like #Pizzagate. He made his career on trolling the liberal establishment by accusing people of pedophilia or child sex trafficking.
Armed with a law degree, Cernovich claims to defend “free speech,” in particular the freedom to harass women and make misogynistic, violent comments. He came to prominence through his role in #Gamergate, a coordinated campaign of harassment against women in the gaming industry. Bankrolled by a divorce and by the sale of his books, Cernovich operates at the fringe of the conservative mainstream, acting as a pass-through for thinly-sourced and conspiratorial scoops. In May 2017, he joined forces with popular conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to co-host a show on Infowars, moving even deeper into the world of conspiracy theories.
Yes, individuals should be held accountable. ALL of them. Period. You got it? You think you made a point?
You think Trump is an expert on everything? He's not, however he was ahead of the curve when he wanted to ban travel from china, and he got lambasted by 'some'.
Could he have done better? Damn right. So could almost every state. Yet what do we read here, and in the msm? Blaming trump for everything. DAmn man, it gets old.
And some are blaming him for everything BUT developing the virus. SAF.
You have mayors saying they didn't know it was contagious?????????? Yeah, dude, personal responsibility. I believe in it. Apparently 'folks like you' only demand it out of 1 person.
Hey, did you see the original models about deaths are now being recanted????
We've got msm showing pictures of hospitals in Italy, yet making it seem the footage is from here in the states.
We've got the cdc saying one thing, and who saying something different.
We see the reports daily about all the deaths in the u.s., yet you'd be hardpressed to find reports of all the people that have recovered.
We have Fauci saying, in 2017, that there will definitely be a pandemic under trump..........hmmm.....if he knew that for certain, why didn't HE go to the media, why didn't HE mandate, through the media, that prep be done? And our lovely ny gov. cuomo?
Yes, I expect personal responsibility. However, the difference between 'folks like" me, and folks like you is that I expect it from everyone, NOT simply the president.
Hell, we still have governors not mandating a stay at home thing. Ever hear of Sweden? Check it out.
Did you hear the outrage when Trump said something about quarantining the states of NY, NJ, and I believe it was 1 more state???? Did you hear that? If you didn't, you're on the same level as pit.
A report from the White House has just reported that a White House doctor has reported that President Trump has a broken right arm. The doctor stated that the broken arm was suffered due to President trump patting himself on the back too much during today's press conference on the coronavirus, which he combines with self aggrandizing, political campaigning and endorsing large corporations. So with specific regard to the travel ban ... I think the criticism was because by then it was too late and the virus was here and it was always going to explode. We couldn't know or prove that because people weren't getting tested. To repeat a good analogy I heard on the radio: It was like bolting the front door when the killer is already in the house.
That AND the fact that history shows travel bans do not prevent the spread of the virus - most especially after it had been hear for so long already.
As for the travel ban on RI, NJ and NY .... wasn't the issue constitutionality? Didn't RI try to prevent New Yorkers from coming to their state and then back tracked double time because of legal issues?
Stories about recoveries? That's what you are mad about?
damn near 400K infected. 12000 dead (3%) and 21000 recovered ... and you are upset because there isn't enough news about the recoveries?
as for who I expect accountability from? I expect it from everyone. ESPECIALLY the president. The difference between the stupid Mayors or other examples you mentioned that I never heard of .... they didn't have a National platform and tell the US to carry on as normal because this was the latest Democratic hoax ... they didn't say this was the same as the Flu and it was all going to go away soon....
Your criticism of the POTUS does not rise to the level it deserves. And that is why - imo - people keep railing about how woefully inadequate the man has been/is/continues to be.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
Long article with a lot of analysis on why the Travel Ban was not likely to have much impact. It is not a hit job on Trump - just information and data.

So, it was already here, and going to explode regardless? So, Trump should've known more that Italy, Germany, France, Spain, etc?
History shows travel bans don't prevent the spread? So why the hell are we being told to stay at home? Oh, yeah, to reduce the spread of the virus.
Come on man, you HAVE to be smarter than this. You literally just said travel bans don't do anything.
Constitutionality? Hell of a reply right there. No travel bans allowed because of constitutionality, yet you think the president should've banned travel, even though travel bans don't work, according to you.
Damn man - damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Typical though. Your woman couldn't win the election, and YOUR side has simply not stopped at trying to get him removed from office. It's pathetic really. And humorous.
I mean, have you seen what ocd posted? Pretty much saying there will be a new impeachment hearing in January. This is the level of incompetence and ignorance the rest of the country is dealing with.
You hold everyone accountable? Nah, you go to 1 person with the blame. How many died of whatever flu it was under O? I don't remember you blaming him.
Hey - news flash - Germany, Spain, Italy, France, and many other countries. Check it out.
You just keep finding straw men to make excuses for trump. If he believed that keeping sick people separated why hasn't he even recommended a stay in palace order to the nation?
see, i think the travel bans were fine. I think the timing of them were proper. But that's no excuse for doing nothing else. For not ramping up the production of tests and PPE's THEN. For not recommending a stay in place order for the nation. Which he STILL won't do. Doing one good thing isn't an excuse to do several things badly.

Arch - normally you make a good bit of sense even if I don't agree with you. Today I think you are off the mark... I don't know if you are posting angry or in a hurry or what ... But on these two things:
1. Travel bans from certain countries and self isolation or not at all, in any way shape or form, the same thing.
2. I never said the POTUS should or should not issue a travel ban. Me? I would have said it surely can't hurt ... I was merely highlighting what I believed to be one widely held opinion that was science based - that they don't work. . . . likewise with the constitutional angle. All I ever heard after the announcement that he was considering isolating NY & NJ - was that there was speculation whether POTUS had the power to prevent travel between states like that. The way it was walked back the next day and dropped it could mean that someone said he didn't have that power and it sunk in/registered with him? Or they didn't think it was beneficial? I don't know.... I do know Trump didn't make a decision based on how popular or otherwise it may have been. So ... why did he raise the prospect and then not do it? You tell me.
3. I didn't say travel bans don't work. I am not an expert - I provided a very detailed legit article that spelled out a strong argument that they don't work. There are LOTS of these available if you want to go google. And to repeat - travel ban is not the same thing as self isolation . . . and as I have said elsewhere, the self isolation isn't going to beat this thing ... self isolation is going to spread out the peak impact of the virus so all our support services are not overrun.

I am sure there are some people that are unhinged like this ... but that is the extremists. No I am not one of them.... but hey there's a bunch of things here that you've slapped on me and labeled me with. It's all good.

As for why Trump gets so much criticism ... Well he's the only guy doing and saying this sort of moronic stuff with a world platform. So, yeah, he's going to get commented on for saying dumb stuff.

Got to disagree Vers. Trump's actions are becoming more and more dangerous to the country. His actions related to the handling of the pandemic have absolutely put people at risk and will ultimately contribute to higher death tolls. He has not directly killed anyone that I'm aware of, but his actions or lack thereof most likely have or will and everyday it gets worse. We need a real leader right now, not this cartoon character.
It's impossible to bring us together and give us direction with lies and deceit. Americans are dying and that is exactly when we become our strongest and most united, Trump is doing everything in his power to stop that for some reason and IMHO it's so he can hold onto power.
The truth about what we are facing and how bad it is going to get is the best way to brace America. It's also the best way to bring out the ingenuity to make this better even if by small degrees. That's what Trump keeps seeing that he can't wrap around, people doing whatever they have to do to help other people even at risk to their own lives. When you grow up and spend your adult life as a coddled silverspoon manchild, the selfless acts bit escapes you.
I don't like Donald Trump, but that is distasteful. You should probably remove that in the interest of displaying some class and dignity.
Why is it when someone speaks the truth about trump the same posters always come in here to defend him? and as usual it starts something like this
“I don’t like trump but”
trump has cost the lives of thousands of America’s and someday he will be held responsible for his deplorable lies, misinformation and lack of action to protect all American’s.
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson.
Trump has saved thousands of lives with his travel restrictions. Thank the high heavens for Trump.
He has done some things. His lack of good leadership far outweighs any good moves he has made. He is a inept leader that has made this crisis more difficult than it should be. He has not utilized the powers of the federal government to properly address this crisis.

Continuing from the other thread in EE, here is an article outlining how this whole thing could well be the end of China as the world's manufacturing hub.
Alright then, don't change it. Just know that it doesn't paint you in a favorable light.
I understand that wording it in a different way may make it more palatable.
But let me ask you this. Trump claims he knew this was coming all along and he did stop people from coming in from China.
How many lives in the healthcare industry would have been saved if he had ramped up production of PPE then, rather than wait until mid March to do it?
We all know that even to this very day hospitals in hot spots across the nation are running short on PPE. Can you imagine how many of their lives would have been saved if only Trump, who claims he knew a pandemic was coming, would have acted sooner at addressing PPE?
There are other aspects I could go into, but I won't. Let's just say I believe that decisions have consequences and our healthcare workers across the country are paying the price of inaction.
He was briefed this was coming in January. He didn't take steps to ramp up PPE production until around mid March. There most certainly is a price that was paid for that.

So - stark as day, before Spring Break there was a huge down playing of any issues.
Around the time of Spring Break - suddenly it's being taken seriously. During the week of Spring Break there is the announcement to limit movement and social distancing. . . . . . and we have Posters saying that the crowded beaches of FL during Spring Break have nothing to do with what Trump did and said.
Best comment on that youtube page: "Elect a clown, Expect a circus" that should be Trump's epitaph.

Pit, I have been openly critical of mistakes Trump made. I even started one of these threads in this forum w/my criticism of how he handled things initially.
But bro, it's best to have some class about certain things. Not asking you to agree. But, that is just my take.
