It makes you wonder how people become racist in the first place.
I believe fear is the reason, I also see so many mixed couples and mixed children and I think if they can do it why can't every one else accept the other races.
It’s a mix, but mainly from what they learn from their families.
Too many people in this country are raising their kids to think that because they happened to be born white, that somehow that entitled them to a superiority complex.
Thankfully we have more and more white Americans standing with us in the streets and raging against the machine. It’s also why I don’t care about the rioting, because EVERYBODY is out there with us; white, Latinos, Asians, LBGT, etc.
The message clearly needs to be taught to these losers that winning the birth lottery and being white doesn’t entitle them to treat minorities like sub human scum.
And it clearly needs to be taught the hard way.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Y’all better be happy black people only want equality.....
And not revenge.
Lets hope not. There would be a loser in that battle.
Yea, America.

Good for you. You understood my meaning.
I wanted to see if you could still think reasonably.
As for racism, I don't know if this was motivated by race. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't? I suppose that might come out when we can focus on the crime of murder and not focus on the crimes of arson, riot, and looting.
On another note from earlier in the thread. We talked about drones. You gave some good information and I mean to add in my comment, but neglected to say I would hope it wasn't armed.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
If we want to talk about the looting, do any of you understand why people loot?
Can you imagine seeing your race being exterminated time after time after time after time to only see no justice for the victim every single time?
Look earlier in this thread to the link I posted. 37% of black Americans killed by cops end up being unarmed.
Could you imagine seeing your race deal with such a thing? How would you react.
This is not condoning the violence. Just please understand why people react. It’s easy for us white men with privilege to expect the system to work for us, as long as you have enough money, and to expect things to be done.
You’ve had multiple members of the black community on this board tell you the reality. Please listen to them!
As Atticus Finch says, you only truly understand a person once you walk a day in their shoes.
this guy was murdered in the same exact way as Floyd, they put knees on him and choked the guy to death, and the national media never once acknowledged it. Where is all the Protests for him? They sit their laughing making jokes and such while this guy is crying for help. Where is the outrage for him? Do you understand now this kinda stuff happens to whites everyday just like it does blacks so stop making this about race.
The police are killing everyone not just any particular race.
We are all in this together, but this looting and burning needs to stop. At the end of the day most Americans support the Constitution, and these people need to stop or the Federla government is going to crack down hard, and its going to be ugly...we don't need this right now.
Actually a look at history already points out that this is a failed experiment. I mean I do get it. I understand the frustration and the injustice here.
And as sad as it is to say, I think a lot of people do but maybe not to the extent they should. These type of riots are nothing new. They have been happening since I was a child at certain points in history.
I'll tell you the end result because I have seen this same thing played out over and over again.
As I said, many Americans can see the injustice, but many who have not lived it do not understand the gravity of it. In this case, the murder of this man was painfully obvious. That's when you get the support of the vast majority of the public. Members of both parties actually agree on something for the most part. You have the public in general on your side and desiring a change.
This is actually the only way change will occur.
Then you have these riots that appear to only substantiate the "angry, black criminal" stereotype that is trying to be distinguished from our society. It reinforces those who are the enemy of the changes many of us including yourself desire. Many of those on the fence who were now leaning in your direction have now been pushed back over the fence to the other side.
It undermines the very message that could only help you. I understand you are angry and I understand why. But I saw this when the Rodney King beating happened and I've seen this too many times throughout my life. I know the end result and there is nothing positive that will be taken from it.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
Could you imagine seeing your race deal with such a thing? How would you react.
None of that entitles you to a new big screen TV and a new pair of Nikes stolen from a local business or burning down your neighbohood that had nothing to do with the murder. It's a false equivalency by any stretch of the imagination.
Understanding the anger and outrage is perfectly understandable. The actions taken in these riots are not.

Your “WHATABOUT white people!” Is just another example of your blatant racism.
Please go a few pages back to see the article and chart where it shows unarmed black Americans are gunned down and killed more than unarmed white americans.

I certainly believe the black community has every right to protest, and hell, even to riot to an extent.
However, I think what we’re seeing has gone beyond all of that ... this is terrorist groups in our country taking advantage of the situation. It is organized, evil, and opportunistic ... both the black and white communities should be angered at this point over what’s happening.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
I think our only real disagreement here is one major difference. I do understand the anger. I do not understand how taking that anger out on your local businesses, some of them even fellow black community members is understandable.
Burning the police precinct? While that's no less a crime it is more understandable. It's the actions of the police you are protesting. Those two things are related.
I mean if a man rapes your sister, I don't think burning down the widows house who lives next door is understandable.

great job Cleveland ... the problem will be when night approaches ... that’s been the pattern, when the other types of people begin to fill the scene

Sorry, that's lame to excuse looting. You can't justify that.
Everybody knows that stealing is wrong. Breaking windows is wrong. Setting fires is wrong. Just as wrong as kneeling on a mans neck, basically killing him there even though he died at the hospital some miles away.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Black Lives Matter.
See, there is no reasoning with you.
The very fact you got that out of my post just proves it.
I have come to the conclusion the Internet is toxic. People would rather make excuses and take the blame game rather than look for any real solutions.
All you do is scream racist at anyone who disagrees with you.
Im done, any further discourse with you is pointless.

I agree. It needs to be a law that protests can only happen in the daylight. We have the right to assemble. We don't have the right to riot. After dark, the goons come out and they need to be viewed differently. They are not protesters.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Exactly .. I think Minnesota is TRYING to make that happen, but obviously the situation there might be too far gone.

I think it's ridiculous for any non black person to decide they know how blacks should react to being killed in the streets by out of control militarized police across the country! If these white nationalist gun toting militia's that stormed state capitol buildings had been choked out on viral video, the aftermath of mayhem and carnage would have been of the charts.
I don't have to like the rioting, property damage, or looting to see the system is broken and crap is way out of hand. When dumbass people think they can call the cops on black people for being black in their spaces, or they think they can hunt down and kill suspicious black men, or that holding your knee on the neck of a black man until he dies is all good... Well their communities should be destroyed in response. I don't condone the riots, looting, and violence BUT I certainly understand it.
AND I'm not even 100% sure it's the BLM or as some of you have stated ANTIFA that is doing all the damage. I saw a tweeted video showing a white guy in all black, not looking like ANTIFA, breaking store windows with a hammer then fleeing the scene. I think there just might be some race war instigation going on here from the alt-right types. ANTIFA and BLM would not be trying to quietly slip in and break the windows then fleeing the scene... They would be more likely to continue if they were destroying stuff no matter who is videoing them.
Like I said earlier, this is what it looks like before the pitchforks and torches come out. The Black people are not standing alone in this outrage. They should be leading but plenty of non black like minds have their backs. AND NOBODY should get to tell them how to feel or how to act or how to express their outrage since they are the targets that are forced endure this pain time and time again.
I’m just really ticked off. I get people trying to be rational and telling me to be reasonable and all.
But peen, you HAVE to understand man. When I watch that video, I and so many other black Americans see ourselves laying on the ground, surrounded by cops, unable to breathe. It just stirs up so much emotion....and rage.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I haven't seen anybody stick of for the cops action.
I am calling out the police involved, looters, and arsonists. Not black people, so yes, as a citizen, I can call out unlawful behavior by other citizens.
We are a community of citizens. Unless we want lawlessness, it is my duty to call it out. I am not telling anybody how to feel.
Act in a civilized manner or get out of town. Why vent your anger by destroying property? It makes no sense unless you are a simpleton.
Next week when you need to go to the corner market, because, hey, I helped burn it down last week, it isn't there.
So no, I DON'T understand it. I understand the frustration, but no, I don't understand deliberate unlawful behavior.
I feel frustration over this.
We need to do better.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

When I watch that video I kept telling myself why in the hell didn't a mob go attack that jackass cop and beat his ass and save George. The riot should of started right there and then on that dumb ass cop and the other dumb ass cops.
I understand your emotions and feel your rage. Just don't hate my white ass because of that cop. I respect you Swish
Please understand, I agree the system is broken. I'll even concede the system is even more broken when it comes to Blacks. I agree blacks get the brunt end of this system far more then other groups of people.
Yet, All of us are in some way, shape, or form at the mercy of militarized police.
Question is folks, what can be done about it?
I think we can agree the 1st thing that needs to be done is addressing the disproportionate use of deadly force against unarmed people of color. We have to start there first and solve the problem. After that we can deal with the police also murdering other people too.
But again, how do we go about solving this problem? I don't think its just racism. I think Racism is one of many smaller parts to a systematic problem. I think its the training, I think its how they are taught to treat everything as a threat, I think some of these officers have mental issues and only see people as threats instead of human beings, I think many of these cops are desensitized to violence.
I think there are a plethora of issues that had led to the storm we have now, the only question is, how do we solve it and fix things?
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
The point of a protest is to bring attention to your issue. When looting occurs it takes the focus away from the issue at hand.
This is exhibited right here in this thread. How many posts the past 3 pages have been primarily about racism or the killing? How many had the primary focus on the looting?
This was my issue with the Kaepernick protest. It was ineffective because nobody talked about what he was protesting because they were too busy arguing about how he decided to protest.
