We can trade negative articles about the other side all we want. However, that settles nothing and only leads to a further divide. My point has been that we should be working together. And anyone who has even paid a bit of attention to the things I have stood for and the things I have actually done in my career and life knows that I am not even close to being a racist. I'll never bow down to any group. I will never excuse poor behavior due one's heritage or gender. I try and treat all people the same. That's not being a racist. It's being a human being.

So factually posting that a "KKK 'leader' charged for attack on Black Lives Matter protesters" is a negative article and not a factual report?

You see, what Swish posted was at least factual. It was a published article. Your little quip about "sometimes BLM and sometime they don't" was not an article nor a fact. That's why I provided sources to dispute your assertion.

Coming from someone who has been following racism for so very long, I would think you would support anyone railing against the Klan. They have been killing black people since the end of slavery. Sitting back and singing Kumbaya certainly isn't the answer.

And let me ask you this... What causes you to make such a false claim that I'm some anarchist? I have called for peaceful protestors to be protected as the constitution gives us all a right to peacefully protest. I have called for those committing crimes during the riots to be arrested and prosecuted.

It seems as though I'm not only standing for the constitution but also standing up for the law of the land. Maybe I'm missing the definition of anarchist.

You somehow seem to feel that only the Trumpians, and yes I know you don't like that term, are allowed to sling venom and mud while the rest of us should sit back and be good little boys and girls. You see, there are Republicans. Many of them you can hold a rational conversation with. I may disagree with some of their political beliefs but their beliefs are sincere and they are rational people despite our differences. Those I will engae in a back and forth of civil discourse.

Then you have what I describe as Trumpians. They will make any excuse for anything he does. They will try and reinforce his lies and vitriol with every fiber of their being. No amount of civility or reason will have an impact on them. In those cases, I give what I get.

But no Vers, I'm not an anarchist. I'm far less liberal than many on this board. But I am for prison reform. I am for reform within our police and more accountability from them. It's time they be expected to at the very minimum be held to the same accountability under the law as we are. How many times have you shot someone in the back? How many times have you choked someone to death? I'm for protestors being protected and those committing crimes to be arrested.

Feeble attempts by you of throwing out rhetoric claiming I'm an anarchist only seems to be promoting the very things you claim to object to coming from others. So did "BLM sometimes. And sometimes they don't."

You preach a pretty good game. I'll give you that. The only problem seems to be that you're not very good at following your own advice.

Another thing that some of the violent protesters or Antifa don't seem to understand is that citizens don't have rubber bullets and tear gas. They have real bullets, rifles, and will use them if they want to. The key phrase there is "want to" as they don't have the same training as the police. You get enough citizens with rifles and I don't think Antifa will want to be anywhere around there.

If they want to abolish the police I'd advocate for every citizen to be armed as a requirement, pre 1800's. That or call in the real army to take them out.

Antifa means antifacists, those who stand up against racism, Ngo and other have chosen that they be Black Panthers or some other far left organization... why... well the far, far, far right does not believe in constitutional equality.

You mentioned us meeting in an earlier post. I remember that meeting. You have seemingly forgot the details of that meeting and are willing to throw away our friendship over this issue. That's fine.

I just know I am tired of so many people working so hard to divide this country and the people in it. I have worked very hard to try and bridge gaps in the "real" world.

I will continue to stand for what I believe in and will not be part of any group that promotes hate and divide. This will be my last reply to you on this thread.

You know that one article posted a photo from a week and a half ago as its main banner, right?

So what really happened is the police left. The police then tried to scare everyone by saying there was credible intelligence the police precint was going to get fire bombed later that night. Then the protestors showed up to protect the precint as well as establish an autonomous zone to help provide. Just last night, a city council member went down to talk with them, and they lead a march to occupy city hall for a few hours.

I've visited this area a few times. It's a cool little pocket of Seattle. Most likely extremely gentrified, but the group is discussing these issues as we speak.

My sister in-law lives a few blocks away from where all this has been going down. She said it's been incredibly peaceful the last few nights in Chaz.

It's always a sad account when someone tries to discredit something because it is a photo that happened a week ago, therefore, isn't relevant to the ongoing story/issue, especially the overall content being shared.

Imagine the George Floyd video not being as relevant because it happened a week and a half ago if journalists/media wanted to use it. We had to put a timeline on that.

I wonder how many of us have actually taken another person's life? I never have. Nor, would I ever want to. I value human life. I don't agree w/people rioting and looting, but I do think they have the right to peacefully protest. I would guess that there are rioters, looters, and peaceful protestors all mixed together in these situations. And some folks think we should use real bullets in a crowd? WTH?!?

Also, I posted the article about the number of murders in Chicago a day or so ago. The one that upset some folks. But, I read that article and it was so sad. So many good people were murdered senselessly.

I wonder how folks on opposite sides of the race/social/political issues can be so flippant w/murder? I don't have the answers, but man.........there kids are exposed to a ton of violence. It might be on TV, or movies, or video games. It is easy to find online. Are folks becoming desensitized? I don't know, but it really bothers me that so many of us don't seem to value human life.

Imagine a world where Memphis didn't source his entire worldview around alt-right men who are scared of losing power to women and minorities.
