Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
The #Browns and star pass-rusher Myles Garrett are closing in on a 5-year extension worth $125M, sources say. Another massive deal, this time for $25M in new money per year. Their top priority of this offseason and they are in the final stages.

To see this deal get done would be great news. We could use some.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I wonder how much gets accounted for on this year's cap and what the future year cap impacts are.

This is the sort of deal that we've been saving cap space and carrying it over for.... but, if things go well, we'll have at least one more every year.

Good news! Hopefully front loaded

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

We have maybe 38 mil in space this year. It can't be all that much.

I am pretty sure we have a plan.

I don't know how good Berry and crew are going to be at selecting players. The first group looks promising, but I am very confident they go in to things with a well thought out plan.

Did you ever say that when a couple of posters were trashing Dorsey over and over and over again for "overpaying" Landry.

Btw............I haven't heard from them regarding how we overpaid Hooper.

Unbalanced rhetoric.

It’s not really when considering the market for similarly skilled players.

You know way more about such things than I do. How does his salary compare to guys like Von Miller, K. Mack, Frank Clark, D. Lawrence, Cam Jordan, J. Bosa, the two Watt brothers?

Maybe not, but I never thought he was overpaid. Not sure why you are on my ass on this?

I'm not on your ass. It was more about the dudes who constantly cried about Landry being overpaid. Never mind.

J/C

The consensus that I’ve read is that it’s a fair deal. He’s the highest paid non-QB right NOW ... but that’ll last about a few months haha. These deals always keep climbing

Jarvis was overpaid and he's still overpaid. Nothing's changed.

Hey man, my theory is if it doesn't kill your cap, and it fits in to the team concept, it doesn't matter what a player makes.

We do have the most cap space at this point of any team. We can't be doing everything wrong.

Definitely our Defensive MVP...last year when he sat out the last 6 our defense just took a nose dive without him.

He is an NFL ELITE, he makes everyone on D better.

As for Jarvis and Hoop...FA are almost always OVER PAID. But both are very good signings. Jarvis btw has been our best WR since 1999 for us he is worth it.

Hoop perfect for the O we are trying to establish, fits the system like a glove...(not worn by OJ)

We knew this day was coming as we started to assemble talent on this team. Soon we will have to watch our expenses and those making big bucks will have to earn it or else see the door.

I get it, it's not your money and he's our "best WR."

I don't care about either of those things. I don't think he's our best WR. His production doesn't match his pay. Whether you want to throw in his intangibles it still doesn't matter.

I like him, I root for him, he's a Brown. But that still doesn't erase that he was severely overpaid when he signed and still is today.

I don't believe burning money because we "can" is a good way to build a team. A decent WR isn't going to make or break you in this league. A stud DE is better use of money.
