Clemson RB Travis Etienne has decided to forego the 2020 NFL Draft and return to school for another season. Clemson will once again be loaded next year. https://twitter.com/FieldYates/status/1218264046631366657

Hmm, wonder why he’s staying
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Have not been on here in a while. Wanted to talk about how incredible LSU's run and Joe Burrow's play was.
So happy for Coach O. So deserving. He should have that job for life. He's good for football and he's good for that school.
Burrow is going to be incredible in the NFL. You can just see it. Trying to figure out if a college QB is going to be good at the next level is so hard, but you can really see the potential in Burrow. Obviously the work ethic is such a huge thing. You will be asked to do more than you ever did with your college team, and do it against much better competition, but he really seems like he could do it.
Ohio State will be very good next year, and in the conversation for teams that could make the playoff. I think Justin Fields coming back is obviously huge, and Ryan Day having a rookie season under his belt is great too.
Sucks that football is over (aside from the XFL!) but it was a good run for Ohio State and a great overall season for college football

Big 12 commish: 'It's a little early' to make a decision about 2020 college football schedule The Big Ten's decision to play a conference-only schedule in 2020 surprised some leagues on Thursday https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...tball-schedule/With less than two months until the scheduled start of the 2020 college football season and the coronavirus pandemic raging across the United States, Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby feels "it's a little early" for the league to make a decision about playing a conference-only schedule this year. Instead, Bowlsby says the Big 12 is still considering all available options. "We need to do what our doctors and our scientists are telling us, which is move slowly ahead and constantly reevaluate," Bowlsby told CBS Sports on Thursday. "The virus is going to decide whether we're ready and able to play." In fact, Bowlsby was a bit perturbed that the Big Ten announced it will move to a conference-only schedule in 2020 if it plays college football at all this season. The league made that decision after the FBS commissioners met by phone Thursday morning. "[Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren] never gave any indication that this is what they were going to do," Bowlsby said. "In fact, he told us this morning at some length that he was not going to surprise anybody and that he would get to us in advance." The Big 12 lost only two Big Ten nonconference games -- Iowa State at Iowa and Maryland at West Virginia -- amid the move. "The only advantage to [a conference-only schedule] is you can spread the games out over more weeks," Bowlsby said. "It doesn't mean you're going to start your schedule the first week of October. You're going to try to start it on time and spread it out so you have more time to recover and more time to get over outbreaks. For whatever reason, the Big Ten felt like they wanted to go to it right now." A Big 12 conference-only schedule was developed eight weeks ago by the league as a contingency, Bowlsby said. That doesn't mean the Big 12 is ready to make that move. In fact, a league source portrayed the its stance as, "We want to play as many games as we can." Don't expect any news from the Big 12 until at least next week. The conference's athletic directors are scheduled to meet on Tuesday during their regularly scheduled call. Bowlsby said that timeline could change if his ADs feel an urgency to speak before then.

And that's sad. But you can bet your last dollar universities are wanting students on campus, in dorms.

They are trying to get them moved in mid-august but, very uncertain if it will happen. He lost his senior year of baseball... and there is already talk that they might have to postpone being on campus until the second semester. what a horrible way to graduate HS and start college. My heart goes out to these kids.

j/c Ivy League cancels all sports until at least January The first few dominoes of college sports have fallen as two conferences of private schools cancelled all fall sports this week. The Ivy League decided that it wouldn’t play any sports until at least Jan. 1, according to several reports on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Division III Centennial Conference said that it was cancelling the fall football season, and suspending all fall sports until at least October. This is basically what happened at the outset of the coronavirus pandemic in March, when the Ivy League canceled its basketball tournament and the NESCAC canceled all spring sports. At the time, both were criticized as premature worrywarts; the rest of American sports followed them eventually. Both leagues are open to a spring 2021 football season, if the virus allows it. The Ivy League schools — Penn, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown and Columbia — are in the Football Championship Subdivision and Division I for the rest of their sports. The following Division III schools have also announced they will not compete in the fall, according to the AP: Amherst, Bowdoin, Claremont McKenna, Grinnell, MIT, Morehouse, Mount Holyoke, Pratt Institute, RPI, Sarah Lawrence, Smith, The College of New Jersey, Texas College, UM-Dearborn, UMass-Boston, Wellesley and Williams. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/...ary/ar-BB16vmCj
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Every college football fan should be weary of the Ivy League decision. They were ahead of the game in March, they attend the Ivy League for a reason.
We need an aggressive approach as a nation, to preserve the football season. We are trending in a bad way.

We have already shut down for a few months. That helped, but now open, it is ticking upward because people can't seem to get with the program. I saw where 2 of our players are on the COVID list. I am sure more will follow.

We need an aggressive approach as a nation, to preserve the football season. We are trending in a bad way. I personally don't think there will be college football this year. I think the pros have a good shot at it, but I have a hard time believing it's gping to be ok to just have these kids who aren't being paid, out there playing for everyone else's entertainment. It just doesn't seem right. I'm as big of a junkie for college football as anyone, but I think they shouldn't play until it's ok for colleges to resume normal classes. And I don't mean it some states who don't think this pandemic is a big deal, I mean all the states. They should really be worrying about the 2021 season. I appreciate the big ten for going to this only conference play schedule, but that is not going to cut it. Kinda pointless, because I don't think it's going to happen. It's going to hurt a bunch when September rolls around and we don't have a slate of any games, even the ones where teams are scheduling cupcakes. What I wouldn't give for an Alabama vs Savannah State matchup right now.

They should really be worrying about the 2021 season. I may be naive, but I think we're going to have a viable vaccine early in 2021, maybe even 2-3 of them. Once that's available, plus any and all treatments that they release in the meantime, will turn the tide on this pandemic. I think 2021 sports, movies and travel will return with the promise of normalcy. Of course, we need to make it there. We've been in this crapstorm for 5+ months and we need to navigate through another 6+ more months. I believe we'll be watching a full college football season next year. I'm sure some schools won't be prepared to come back online due to financial debts, but most will be ready.

But man I think we are going to definitely go through the fall and winter with the way things are going now. I'm actually moving hopefully before the end of next month. Kinda works where we can't really do much other than get together with a few friends, or go to a limited seating restaurant. It will be great to organize a new house on that kinda time. I have a feeling NFL is going to dominate saturdays and sundays this fall, if there won't be college. that would be amazing. I wonder if they'd consider making the sunday ticket for free to increase exposure since there will be zero attendance revenue generated. might be great in the long run.

Teams from the Mac and teams like UTC here, in the Southern Conference need those big paydays.
I am sure our AD loved going down to Auburn or Georgia to get hammered by 45 points.
Walk out $700,000 to the good.

Haven't been following this thread so don't know if this was already posted August 6, 2020 - 9:11 pm DE Rousseau, LB Parsons, WR Moore opt out of 2020 season … One of the concerns expressed by many college football observers this summer was that if it started to look like the upcoming season was going to be sort of half-assed because of the coronavirus, then multiple top stars would simply opt out of playing and head straight to draft preparation. That was certainly the case today when three top college stars – Penn State LB Micah Parsons, Miami DE Greg Rousseau and Purdue WR/KR Rondale Moore – all indicated that they will not play this fall and instead will start to prepare for the upcoming draft. Parsons and Rousseau, arguably the two best defensive prospects in the entire 2021 draft class, are both top 5-10 candidates, while the electric Moore is a later first round prospect. At the same time, Auburn senior LB Chandler Wooten also said he won’t play this fall, but will redshirt and try again in 2021. https://gbnreport.com
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Too bad about the MAC. I love me some MAC football during the week. It gets me through the Tuesday-Wednesday stretch

Its only a matter of time ... to much risk especially when x amount of schools aren’t having in person classes ... letting the kids play football when there’s no in person classes would just beg for millions of losses in law suits from those that contract it ...
Also i don’t know if it was mentioned in here but two of the top if not the top two D players in the country opted out along with a stud O player ...
The two D players are projected top 5 picks now and the O stud is projected mid - late first round ...

It has to happen. You can't have these kids running around on campus.
They are getting scholarship, but they aren't getting paid.
Baseball can stay somewhat apart. Football can't.. Basketball is a close contact sport, but you can play it in a bubble. You stand a chance.
Football, no way. You can't bubble enough fields.
College football is the leader in this thing. I like college football. After the Browns, I don't watch NFL football except maybe playoffs and Super Bowl. Maybe a glance at the Falcons and Titans now and then. I follow then to some degree. They are on local TV, so there is a passing interest. I can watch college football all day on Saturday, from 11 or so until I fall asleep at some point that night. Always the SEC game of the week on CBS, but I don't care who they are. I like college football. To me it's way better than the NFL.
I don't like it, but it needs to be shut down. It just doesn't make sense.

It took a pandemic and a complete bungling of the situation by the NCAA but the college players are finally going to get it right.

So if they cancel the fall sports season are they going to give the students all an extra year of eligibility?

There is CFB on TV tonight. And for NFL Draft fans, there are reasons to watch Central Arkansas vs. Austin Peay (9 pm, ESPN). #CentralArkansas CB Robert Rochell (#9) is an athletic, lanky cover man with ball skills. Currently projected in 4th-6th round range. Two other NFL prospects to watch tonight (both currently PFAs): - UCA EDGE J.W. Jones (#50) is a tad stiff, but strong, active and agile footed. - Austin Peay WR DeAngelo Wilson (#11) is undersized, but quick and productive. https://twitter.com/dpbrugler/status/1299754987787030529

Pretty fun first half. Seems like both teams are really laying it out there
