Kentucky attorney general is to announce grand jury decision at 1:15-1:30 today.
Louisville mayor just announced 19 minutes ago that there will be a 9 pm to 6:30 am curfew starting tonight and have imposed a state of emergency.
Louisville announced yesterday that the decision was imminent. They closed a 25 square block area to vehicle traffic and have set up a bunch of barricades.
Chicago already has National Guard on standby.
Los Angeles started putting up barricades yesterday

The curfew is a strong indication of which way this is about to go.

The boarding up of the court house was a strong indication. The sign out of front of the court house saying NO PEACE is a strong indication. There are a lot of those.

I wonder why Louisville, Kentucky and Minneapolis, Minnesota weren't deemed "anarchist jurisdictions"? Oh that's right, one is a red state and the other one a swing state.

The curfew is a strong indication of which way this is about to go. The whole situation is very unsettling. I din't come to say that, I came to rant. ^ What! wha wha wha What! So if the cops are let off does somebody somehow WIN! HECK NO THEY DON'T! and if the cops were (if a very bad thing happened to them), would somebody somehow WIN! HECK NO THEY DON'T! What is this some kind of election? some kind of referendum? Screw this, Screw That, it's all disgraceful, and even that they have to board up the city. Tragedy all the way around, and the whole situation is very unsettling. Can't bring this person back, and what, ... is anybody on the side of does anybody want to gloat at peoples hurt! SICKENING! blank it ... and does boarding up the city encourage violence and vandalism? It's all so messed up with three capital M's Sure, the enemies of the United States are probably salivating like Pavlov's and tomorrow?

The 3 charges against Hankinson were for blindly shooting thru another apartment were there were 3 people-not related to Breonna
The attorney general says their findings that the grand jury conferred were that the other 2 officers were within the law when they were fired upon once by the man in Breonna’s apartment and fired back

so i guess we're still not gonna get a ban from our government on unconstitutional no knock raids, huh.
i kinda expected these results to happen, but i was hoping for broader action from big government separate from this.
so far, i've seen nothing passed.

There are over 200 bills collecting dust on McConnell's desk already because he refuses to bring them to the floor for debate. This would just add one more.

https://govtrackinsider.com/justice-for-...nt-92b4f0deba23Justice for Breonna Taylor would prohibit no-knock warrants by police and law enforcement GovTrack.us GovTrack.us Jun 17 · 4 min read Image for post Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) Is the practice an effective law enforcement technique, or a privacy-violating maneuver that has resulted in innocent deaths? Context 26-year-old emergency room technician Breonna Taylor was at home after midnight on March 13, when Louisville police entered her apartment unannounced. Police were looking for a suspected drug dealer who was using Taylor’s address to receive packages that law enforcement believed contained drugs. The suspected drug dealer wasn’t at Taylor’s home, though he was arrested elsewhere later that same day. Police had obtained a so-called “no-knock warrant” from local judge Mary Shaw, though it’s unclear whether police in fact knocked or announced their presence in some form before entering. The police claim they knocked; Taylor’s family claim they didn’t. Either way, this much is clear: police entered her home, her boyfriend Kenneth Walker grabbed a gun for which he had a permit and fired, police returned fire, and Taylor died after getting shot at least eight times. (Walker survived.) Since then, Taylor’s name has been one of the most frequently-referenced names in recent protests over police brutality and misconduct. What the bill does The Justice for Breonna Taylor Act would ban no-knock warrants on a nationwide level. Florida and Oregon are the only two states that ban no-knock warrants statewide, though more are now considering it as the topic has garnered headlines. Several cities have recently banned the practice, including Louisville last week and Houston last year. It was introduced in the Senate on June 11 as bill number S. 3955, by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). What supporters say Supporters argue that no-knock warrants are morally wrong by violating privacy, have been too often misused, and have led to innocent people’s deaths. “After talking with Breonna Taylor’s family, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s long past time to get rid of no-knock warrants,” Sen. Paul said in a press release. “This bill will effectively end no-knock raids in the United States.” “No one should lose their life in pursuit of a crime without a victim, and ‘no-knock’ warrants should be forbidden,” Sen. Paul added to the Louisville Courier-Journal. “Let’s hope the investigation provides justice.” “Our action tonight sets an example for other cities to follow,” Louisville Metro Council President David James said after the council voted unanimously to ban no-knock warrants. “This council is saying the time has come right a wrong, a wrong of more than 400 years. I am proud that we are first in justice for all.” What opponents say Opponents counter that no-knock warrants should be used sparingly and ideally with no loss of life, but that they can be a valuable element for police departments. “No-knock warrants do have a place in an agency’s toolkit, but you have to know when and how to best apply them,” National Tactical Officers Association Executive Director Thor Eells told NBC News. “And the manner in which that is done is usually through good training, having good policies and procedures in place and ensuring that the people who are making those decisions are well trained.” The practice has also been upheld by the Supreme Court since the 1963 decision Ker v. California. While some subsequent court decisions have placed limitations on the practice, it’s never been found unconstitutional. “Even if probable cause exists for the arrest of a person within, the Fourth Amendment is violated by an unannounced police intrusion into a private home, with or without an arrest warrant,” the court’s unanimous opinion written by Tom C. Clark said. However, the court granted three exceptions, one of which was “where those within, made aware of the presence of someone outside (because, for example, there has been a knock at the door), are then engaged in activity which justifies the officers in the belief that an escape or the destruction of evidence is being attempted.” Odds of passage This specific Senate bill has not yet attracted any cosponsors. It awaits a potential vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee. However, a provision to ban certain types of warrants is included in House Democrats’ broader police reform bill titled the Justice in Policing Act, which was introduced last week. That larger bill currently has 213 Democratic cosponsors, though no Republicans. The lead sponsor of this standalone legislation, Rand Paul, is a Republican. Louisville will burn tonight. The white power militia and cops are out enforce to make sure it happens. They must have surplus rubber bullets and tear gas that need to be used so they don't lose funding.
How can anybody justify these gun toting thugs showing up in every BLM protest area to instigate?

Who was it that signed off on the no knock warrant? These officers were executing orders from someone else, correct?

And yet... the only faces we see on tv are the officers. Justice, in this case, was doomed from the start. They never had the right people in the cross hairs.

I'm really not sure how to feel about the no-knock warrants. They have resulted in the unfair deaths of many people and are often used in circumstances that just don't make sense. I once even knew a person who had their house raided with a no-knock warrant after they quit their job and their employer accused them of stealing equipment when they left. Turned out to be nothing but a crazy psycho employer, but it completely disrupted this guys life and got him in the news, which only made finding his next job that much more difficult.
On the other hand, no-knock raids are very useful. Ever notice how many more standoffs and hostage situations we used to have versus today? That's because of the no-knock warrants. When used correctly, they are a great tool for dealing with some of the most dangerous criminals which means they also save lives... sometimes.
The key is finding a way to limiting their use or improving tactics/tools, but I am not sure that there is an effective way of doing this.

Those shootings will not be factored into the percentage of "peaceful protests."
This is so freaking ignorant. Thinking that violence is the answer is only going to make things worse. Years of progress are being thrown out the window because of the "me" attitude.

America is in a bad place right now. I understand that and I did not blame either side. The extremists on both sides are a real threat. And the excuse making by the moderates on both sides is an even bigger threat. I do want to add this, though. The outright hostility by the media, sports leagues, Hollywood types, and even the general public directed towards police officers is not a good thing. It amazes me that more people who are seemingly intelligent are unable to see the dire consequences of such a mind-set.

As soon as I saw the fascist 'Militia' and jack booted cops out in force today, I knew they would incite a riot and violence. It's still early, louisville will burn tonight.

Some people don't like being attacked with exploding flash bangs, tear gas grenades, and rubber bullets. If I didn't feel for the cops that were shot, I would justify it like a republican and say 'because we can' or 'it was justified self defence'... It's horrible and a shame but we don't know who is shooting. The only guns I saw outside of cops were in the hands of terrorist fascist white supremacist militia men.
