During the game I’m thinking wow, that TE from Indiana that dropped the pass is going to have nightmares. Then, Penn State doesn’t just fall down before scoring to end the game. That’s coaching. You make sure every player on the field knows not to get into the end zone. Then, what was up with Indiana’s kickoff!?!? What a bizarre game.

I only saw the end. I turned it on when the dude botched the kickoff. That certainly could have cost them the game. Damn, I wish I would have watched more of it. I was watching the Iowa State/OK St game.

Man, that was maybe the closest play I’ve ever seen. I think he was JUST short, but tough to overturn
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Nebraska went for it on 4th and 21 from around their 15 yard line with about 1:30 left. They didn’t get it and just let penn st score. All the RB had to do was fall down before scoring and the game was over. How every player on the field didn’t get that drilled into their head is beyond me. Coaching fail, and Franklin should be chastised for that.

GC. Just watched this Minn vs Mich fooball game and the Touchdown 16 yard run by Minn.
and the Ball comes down right near the line, he almost looks short, the announces thought it should be 1st and goal but no TD. Refs ruled it a TD.
Here's why I love the Refs "stands" the call, I would have ok want to go as far as "confirm" in my book because it was clear, the guy got the ball, right at the edge of the green and white.
And he clearly did not get the ball over the white line into the red painted part, and so , many times in the NFL they'll say no td, first and goal and put the ball way back, a foot back from the line or more
But
I say, anyone who thinks that's not a TD, where can the refs, How can the refs give an honest spot of the ball, and part of the ball isn't hanging into the white line part of the end zone line.
If you can't spot the ball, without some of the ball on the Goal line part of the end zone, then it's a Touchdown.
Think of the, the old days of watching chain markers decide a first down, If the nose of the football touches the bar/stick part of the chain marker, it's a first down
Otherwise the Ref holds up fingers of how much short the nose of the football is from the line to gain.
It's a different situation than the whole, out of bounds in bounds thing.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

He may have been short, but Mike Pierira made a good point about whether or not the point of the ball was over the front of the goal line before he hit the ground.
Also, it was just too close to overturn in my opinion. Had the officials called him short, I believe the call would have stood, just as it did w/them ruling it a TD on the field. I think replay got it right.
Undoubtedly, it was one of the closest and important plays[because it decided the game] that you will ever see.

I thought the IU quarterback was short and it hit just shy of the pylon, but it’s too hard to tell.
PSU played a terrible, terrible game. Tough loss

Don't think I've ever wanted the Browns to draft a Michigan player, but Kwity Paye looks interesting:

Trevor Lawrence tests positive for https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...-dame-possible/Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the No. 1 Tigers' game against Boston College on Saturday, Lawrence and the program announced Thursday night. Lawrence's positive test came on Wednesday after he tested negative on Sunday, Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich told CBS Sports. Lawrence will miss Saturday's game, and while his status for next week's showdown with No. 4 Notre Dame is unknown, it appears possible that he could be cleared. "I have tested positive for COVID-19, and my symptoms have been relatively mild while I'm following the protocol from Clemson and the ACC. The only thing that hurts is missing an opportunity to be with my teammates this weekend and play the game I love," Lawrence said in a statement. "I hate that I can't be there, but I'll be watching from isolation and pulling for our guys while I wait for the opportunity to rejoin the team." According to ACC guidelines, athletes who test positive must isolate "for at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms/positive test." Until Lawrence returns, the Tigers will likely turn to true freshman DJ Uiagalelei, a five-star prospect from the 2020 recruiting class. Uiagalelei has completed 12-of-19 passes for 102 yards in backup duty this season. "Trevor has authorized us this evening to announce that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation," Swinney said in a statement. "He is doing well with mild symptoms but will not be available for this week's game against Boston College. While we certainly will miss Trevor, this is an opportunity for other guys to step up and we're excited about competing against a very good BC team on Saturday." Want more college football in your life? Listen below and subscribe to the Cover 3 College Football podcast for top-notch insight and analysis beyond the gridiron. Lawrence is the potential No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy this season. The junior has completed 135-of-191 passes for 1,833 yards, 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions while leading Clemson to a 6-0 start. His statistics are especially impressive considering that the Tigers have frequently play reserves in the second half during blowout victories. It's not the first time Clemson has dealt with COVID-19 issues this year, as the program dealt with outbreaks before the season. But Lawrence will be the most high-profile player in college football to miss game time because of a positive test so far this season.

Good time to get this “out of the way” for Clemson. I’d expect a lot of players to test positive .. hopefully most will be very mild symptoms
He’ll be back for the ND game

Following up on the Covid news, as you noted in another thread, the Wisconsin/Nebraska game was cancelled. It won't be made up.
I said this at the time when the Big10 announced they were coming back, but they should have targeted October 17th--at the latest--as their return date. Restarting on the 24th took out any wiggle room they had.
Of all the conferences, I think the SEC got it right. They didn't start on time like the ACC and Big 12, but they didn't wait too long. September 26th starting date allowed them to see what was going on w/the rest of the country and it was early enough to negotiate through the issues that everyone knew were certainly be arising from Covid.

Illinois senior QB Brandon Peters tests positive for COVID-19 With just over an hour before kickoff in the Illinois vs. Purdue game, the Illini announced that senior quarterback Brandon Peters and redshirt freshman tight end Griffin Moore tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play on Saturday. Per Big Ten protocol, both players will be sidelined for 21 days, which started on Thursday when the team learned of the positive results. Illinois also will be without senior starting center Doug Kramer and kicker James McCourt, who are roommates with Peters. Illinois also is without linebacker Shammond Cooper, defensive end Keith Randolph and quarterback Isaiah Williams, who are roommates with Moore. With Peters and Williams out, Illinois will start redshirt sophomore Matt Robinson at quarterback on Saturday against Purdue. The Illini are 0-1 on the season after their season-opening blowout loss to Wisconsin last week. Last season, Peters appeared in 11 games for Illinois, completing 55.3% of his passes for 1,884 yards with 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions. During the Wisconsin game, Peters completed eight of 19 passes for 87 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Robinson (who had five rushing yards last week in a 45-7 loss at Wisconsin) will start his third career game at Illinois. Robinson, a redshirt sophomore, played extensively in three games last season — all Illinois losses — including two starts. Robinson (54.5 completion rate, 475 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT) relieved Peters (concussion) early in a 40-17 loss at Minnesota helped the Illini come back from a 28-0 deficit against Michigan to get within three points in the second half of a 42-25 loss in which Robinson fumbled twice in fourth quarter. Robinson also started during a disappointing 29-10 loss to Northwestern with the Illini's three top wideouts sidelined with injury. https://247sports.com/college/ohio-state...ers--153910877/
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Boston College taking it to Clemson. If BC holds on, how much of a ding is a no-Lawrence Clemson loss?

That's yet another factor that will even further complicate matters and make however this turns out more controversial.

Michigan is playing very sloppy and undisciplined. Hard to believe this is Harbaugh's 6th season. He's getting outcoached big time in this game.

I'm a Michigan fan and sadly, it's time for Harbaugh to go. His teams never seem to have any emotion or fire. The defense is usually good, but gets beat by any team with speed. The offense has been spotty since he got there and haven't developed a QB yet.

They showed a stat during the game that Harbaugh was 1-5 (now 1-6) at home vs. Michigan State and Ohio State. They've got Indiana, Wisconsin and Penn State coming up. The fans are screaming for Harbaugh's head on the Wolverine forums....hundreds of posts and nobody's taking his side.

He did wonderful things at Stanford, but he really built that program around a solid win against USC. I think he could end up back in the NFL if Michigan fires him. If you take away the NFL, where do you even go next after failing at your alma mater? Really tough spot for him. I am glad we have Kevin Stefanski, I like what I have seen so far. If we didn't have him, I would absolutely love to have him coaching the Browns. I think he's a good coach, just at the college level it's not enough. I also think Michigan needs to take a real hard look in the mirror. I think there are some things within that program that maybe they are not willing to admit.

As of now the top 4 is pretty clear cut IMO:
Alabama Ohio State Clemson Notre Dame
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Michigan is just getting demolished by Indiana. They've packed it in. 24-7 at the half, and Indiana gets the ball first.

michigan goes down huge, now PSU is getting their arse handed to them by Maryland. 35-7 end of the 3rd. What is going on in the B1G? How can those teams look so bad? It's not a fluke, it's multiple games. Harbaugh and Franklin should be running for their lives. They've both been in power long enough where these players are all their recruits. Their draft classes were good, so they have the talent.
