Nah, there's a lip around the edge to hold the oceans in .......
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I quit watching the NBA after the boycott. I hated all the staged BLM and Social Justice messages. It's not why I watch sports. The boycott was the last straw. Others have probably felt the same way. A trend of low ratings throughout the NBA postseason has now reached the NBA Finals. And hit it hard.
Game 1 of the Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat brought in only 7.41 million viewers to ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That is reportedly the lowest viewership seen for the Finals since at least 1994, when total viewers began to be regularly recorded. The Brooklyn Nets named Steve Nash their head coach in early September, but stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant see Nash in more of a collaborative role and not as the head of top-down leadership. "I don't really see us having a head coach," Irving said on Durant's new podcast, "The Etcs." "KD could be a head coach, I could be a head coach [some days]." https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30018058/see-brooklyn-nets-having-head-coachdisaster. I wonder if Steve is aware of this. Man Kyrie is a different guy.

I don't like any of the teams, and I don't care much about Lebron. So I stopped watching. Maybe next year it will be better. Note: My lack of viewership wasn't about BLM message, I don't think it was over bearing. I think it was fine, I just don't care anymore. Maybe some day the Cavs will get back in it. I haven't seen a Cavs game on TV here since 2018, so it's hard to care.

I haven't seen a Cavs game on TV here since 2018, so it's hard to care. I just found the NHL to be a better product, I get that they don't draw the numbers that the NBA does, but I believe there are some people who will just watch the NBA regardless of how good the league is or isn't. I personally just found it better overall to watch. Also doesn't help being a Cavs fan and they're so far away from contending. They could probably make noise in the east sooner, but that's more of an indictment on how bad the east is. It's more even now that Lebron is gone, but it's not good. Didn't get to see any of the game the other night as I was watching the Indians consistently trip over their own feet. Didn't look great for Miami. I thought this series would be competitive but maybe not. Losing early to Lebron teams is never good as he just seems to get stronger as he makes adjustments as the series progresses. I can't wait for the MJ stans and Lebron haters to put an asterisk on this one.

Another comment from Kyrie during that podcast:
[quote][“One thing I’ve always been comfortable with, I felt like I was the best option on every team I played for down the stretch,” Irving had said on “The ETCs with Kevin Durant” podcast. “This is the first time in my career I’ve looked down and be like ‘That blank can make that shot too. And he’ll probably do it a lot easier.’
“It’s not so much deferring, because in past situations where I didn’t take the last shot I felt guilty. I want this game-winning shot, but also you want to trust your teammates. Not that I didn’t trust my team-mates, but I felt like I was the best option.”/quote]
I took one of the words out and replaced it with "blank."

Kyrie is such a jerk! I will always have a soft spot for Kyrie as he helped cleveland end the drought, but what a horrible take. This reminds me of his quote right after he got traded to the celtics where he seemed to be provoking fans by saying he was "in a real sports city". Like he didn't actually think that, he was just saying it because he knew it would trigger people. The LBJ haters love the take that Kyrie bailed out lebron with that shot in game 7. And I mean, ignoring everything lebron did in that series (averaging 29.7ppg 11.3rpg 8.9apg 2.6stl 2.3blk) he's right.

That was definitely a shot at LeBron.
I agree that Kyrie is clutch, but this is the same guy that couldn't win anything until LeBron came to the Cavs, then to kind of underhandedly diss him like that. Poor taste.
Kyrie is what you would call unaware.
Or aware and doesn't care.
And I really don't think Kyrie cares about basketball all that much.

And I really don't think Kyrie cares about basketball all that much. It's the problem that some pro athletes have. They don't want to play the game. By game, I don't mean 48 minutes of basketball, I mean being available to the media, talking about your craft, helping the media push your product. Some of these athletes don't realize without media and fans, you don't have a league, and therefore, don't have your multi-million dollar contract.

Kind of an anticlimactic Finals. I haven’t watched more than a few plays because it’s such a mismatch
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I watched last night's game. First time since the Milwaukee crap.
It was an excellent game. Very intense w/a lot of twists and turns. One team would get up and the other would battle back. LeBron and Butler were completely exhausted. Both had the fortitude to battle through it and still perform at extremely high levels. Very enjoyable game to watch.

Looks like Lebron doesn't want a game 7. Lakers up 28 at the half. 2nd largest halftime lead in NBA Finals history.

The Heat needed another day of rest. They exhausted themselves in game 5 with a very short bench

The old-timers can hold on to MJ, but LeBron is making a legit claim to the GOAT. Not saying he is and I don't like getting into comparing players from different eras, but man, they guy is creating quite a legacy.

I think this closes the gap between MJ and Bron, but MJ still has it.
However, does it matter if you’re the first or second head on Mount Rushmore? Nah, you’re there.
Just a kid from Akron. Damn.

I want to echo something that guys like Mark Jackson and Kendrick Perkins have said. If there is an asterisk on this NBA Championship, it should be because the season was shortened and home court advantage was taken away, but how much resiliency and perseverance it took to survive the hardships of the bubble. Mental toughness.

So let me see if I got this straight...
Lebron engineers every situation he's in so that he is playing with the current very best players and he says after the game he wants his damn respect. Smdh
Love Lebron. Think he's the second greatest of all time. He brought a championship to Cleveland and broke the drought. Don't mind seeing him win more with another franchise but come on. What a joke that statement was.
He's the guy on the playground picking his team and stacking it in his favor then talking trash after he wins. Oy vey.

I don't think you have it straight. Let's revisit the posts on this board when he left. Most said he would fail in LA and he only moved there to further his Hollywood opportunities.
Hell, look back to the posts on who was going to win the 'Chip this year. Most said the Clippers. I said the Lakers. Guys like cfrs said the Lakers would not be a good defensive team. LOL
Come on, man. Gotta give LeBron and the Lakers credit.
Once again, LeBron proved all his haters wrong. He won another championship.

I gave Lebron a ton of credit.
But his statement was ridiculous. And it was no doubt made with his sights set on Jordan. You know the guy who spent his whole career with one franchise, won six championships without ever having a dominant post presence, and was the best perimeter and post player on his team. Oh yeah, his sidekick was another wing player and he never really had a third guy.
What kind of damn respect is LeBron expecting?

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought Jordan played w/the Wizards and took time off to play baseball?
We all have our ideas on what makes a great BB player. Some only concentrate on scorers. Others concentrate on guys who can not only score, but also make those around him better because they play team basketball.
In my opinion, Magic and Bird are seriously underrated.

Just a kid from Akron. Damn. Yeah, I mean 6>4 and that's really the bottom line. However, I am so tired of Lebron haters and MJ fanboys using his losses in the finals against him. Yes, Michael Jordan never lost a finals series, but he also only went 6 times compared to Lebron who seems like he is there every year. Why should MJ get credit for losing before the finals? Like, are we really going to hold that 2007 appearance against Lebron? or how about 2015 when he was out there with JR and Matthew Dellavadova? Or when a 73 win team added the most prolific scorer to their team? 3 all stars apparently wasn't enough to beat Lebron. My point is, yes Jordan has the edge over lebron right now, but simply because 6>4. If Lebron equals Jordan, I think you can consider him the greatest of all time. I don't know if he gets there, but if they get another one next year, and he can somehow use the final years of his career to equal him?

thats pretty much expected. It’s why the NBA would be dumb to have the Finals ever after Labor Day from now on

The NFL always beats everything no matter what. While this is true, it's pretty much a guarantee that many people were turned off by all the social justice messages that were jammed down our throats when the NBA returned.

And yet they return to watching the game even after they rant about it and claim they won't. That should sound familiar to you.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
