The Browns are 4-1 it's October 13th, a Tuesday

The game on the road in Pittsburgh is coming up, the Browns have won 4 straight after losing the opener in Baltimore.
The Browns have beaten
The Bengals at home,
The Redskins at home,
Won on the Road at the Cowboys,
and the Colts at home.

I'm mostly concerned discussing the next 7 games, to how successful the Browns will be when 12 games are in, before the game at home vs. Baltimore.

How good or bad can the Browns be when the possible outcomes are anything from
11-1, on the upside, to 4-8 on the downside, and How well do they have to be to Get through the playoffs.

At Pittsburgh
At Cincinnati
Los Vegas, at home
Houston, at home
Philadelphia, at home
At Jacksonville
At Tennessee

Then the point where the final 4 games include

Baltimore, at home
At Ny Giants
At Ny Jets
Pittsburgh at home

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I was talking about this before. here were my thoughts. *We took care of business with Indy. We just need to go 6/8 now.

We should win 6/8 of these games

Houston
Philly
NYG
Jacksonville
Jets
Cin
Las Vegas
Pitt

We will need to win 1 game against these teams to get in the playoffs.

Indy
Pitt
Baltimore

If we continue to improve I can see 7 more wins with a possible 9, now I know we will probably lose one we shouldn't, and win one we shouldn't so here is who I think we beat and lose to and the tossup games

At Pittsburgh - LOSS
At Cincinnati - WIN
Los Vegas, at home - TOSSUP
Houston, at home - WIN
Philadelphia, at home -WIN
At Jacksonville -WIN
At Tennessee - TOSSUP

Then the point where the final 4 games include

Baltimore, at home - TOSSUP
At Ny Giants - WIN
At Ny Jets - WIN
Pittsburgh at home - TOSSUP

That makes us 10-2 with 4 Tossup Games smile

I hope we can win 7or8 games the rest of season but I see us going 5-6 the rest of way. I see 2 losses to Pitt., another to Baltimore, LV, Tennesse and Houston. JMO

I think that is fair - Vegas, Ravens, Pit, Titans are all good teams headed (probably) to the playoffs. I think it's possible/probable we split with Pittsburg. Raiders coming East might help and playing 3 of the 'toss up' games after the bye and (hopefully) Chubb returning will also help.

I think that we will split with Pittsburgh, but it is a season of ending negative streaks, so I think we could sweep them. We haven't since The Return and 2020 is as good of a year to do it as any. Screw it, I'm taking us to win this week.

I think we sweep Cinci.
I could see a loss to the Raiders or Tennessee, but not both. I think we take care of business with Philly & Jax.

So, we're 4-1 now, I think we go to 5-1 this Sunday and then finish with Tennessee at 10-2.

Then, we go 4-0 to finish the season and enter the playoffs at 14-2.

None of this matters though... we just have to get to 1-0 this week.

I was thinking that, at some point last night, then I looked into what the Raiders were doing,

OH my, Derek Carr is playing Un freaking Beleivable

The Raiders are all pass, and the Browns are defending by, turnover, stop the run, and give up passes just short of the end zone,

The Raiders are all pass, I don't know how, the Browns, pivot, as a team, to stop a QB with 294 being his low end yardage, and 2.6(guess) tds per, and only found 1 int on the season.
John Gruden + Derek Carr, = Look out,

Actually, I meant to say,
Contenders, (in the AFC North), will be 8-4 or better when we hit that end of the Tennessee game point in the season,
and 4 games left.

We beat the Cowboys, and they have (had) a more potent passing attack than Raiders.

The team I think that'll surprise us is Houston. We could easily sleep on them, but they have weapons that could hurt us.

Fun to look and wonder about playoffs.

I just can't do it. So much crap can happen week to week.

You look at the schedule and project against a losing team and think win.

If you play poorly and turn it over; you get beat.

So I am about the Steelers this week. I figure we need to one of two from them. Win the first one. Put the pressure on them.

Correct mistakes. Improve. Wins will come.

I want to win this week and enjoy that. The old "take it one game at a time."

True, bone. Part of me is thinking about the playoffs but we’re a long way from that. We have 11 games to go.

Other than the obvious games that worry us (at Pitt, vs Balt, vs Pitt, at Ten) ... there’s another game I’m sneaky nervous about: at Cincy

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

We can't do anything about those other games until they get here.

At Pittsburgh is the only game on the schedule right now.

Obviously injuries can ruin you.

11 games lots can go wrong.

"The rivalry" takes two to tango. We have gotten beat up by the Steelers for quite some time. Ben's record against us is embarrassing.

So I am looking for major payback.

Taking them down in their house would be sweet.

We took them down in their house last year, too.
It would be really nice to start a run of owning them in their house.

Here's my wet blanket.... I think we're improving and I love where this is going obviously but I think unless some basic systemic things just magically right themselves we're not sniffing 14-2, lol. What Pitt and Balt have that we don't are pretty rock solid D's. That's critical. We have some great pieces but our secondary is swiss cheese and our LB's are average on a great day. Baker is doing ok but he's not on Jackson's or Ben's level right now. At some point we will need him to win games. We haven't seen what this team does in adversity, when it loses 2 or 3 in a row. Ya know it's coming at some point.

Question.... If we take 3rd in our division and the 2nd wildcard spot, we're playing Pitt or Balt in the 1st round of the playoffs, right?

Spit ballin'....

At Pittsburgh - L (Everything changes if we win this game. Both teams know it. They're going to take this unusually serious for a Browns game)

At Cincinnati - L (Only because we always seem to split with them regardless of context)

Las Vegas, at home - L (could go either way on this one. Beating KC in KC? They're not bad.)

Houston, at home - W (could go either way on this one. They had some fire this week after the firings. Could be a new season for them)

Philadelphia, at home - W (God I hate the Eagles)

At Jacksonville - W

At Tennessee - L (Last years Titans meet this years Titans. Could go either way on this one)

Baltimore, at home - L (I want to believe but I think they're just too disruptive for us. This is the one that tells us who Stephanski really is)

At Ny Giants - W (We better)

At Ny Jets - W (I mean, we better, amiright?)

Pittsburgh at home - W (If it counts this late in the season, I think we rally at home)

10-6 - Enough? I don't know. A 2 game improvement on my 8-8 preseason prediction.

Our defence will now allow us to go 15-1, even if we do beat Pitt.

I get the enthusiasm because we’re usually out of it by early October, but let’s calm down, eh?

I think Pittsburgh may not be as good as there record would indicate and Houston is probably better than their record.

I am thinking NY Jets, NY Giants, Jacksonville, Cincinnati and Philly are games we should win. So one more win Houston, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas?? Puts us at 10-6 an hopefully in the playoffs.

If this defense keeps improving, this Browns team is better than anyone in the league thinks.

But, it has to start getting more stops and stop getting gashed in big chunks.

I'm usually one that says we split with Cinci no matter what... but you know, if Stefanski is what we're saying he is, then that's no longer the case... right?

Plus, Cinci isn't going anywhere but down this season. You're seeing it already (Browns fans are intimately familiar with this type of team).

I don't know enough about the Raiders, so I'll stay out of that one, but the game I see surprising us is Houston. Yes, they're a hot mess right now... but they have talent, and as someone said, they are better than their record.

I don't think we beat the Ravens... not with this D. I'll allow myself to start getting excited about this team if we can beat the Steelers this weekend. I don't think the Steelers are as good as their record, but they've bullied us for too long, and they're D is set up to make for a long day for us if we can't jump out to an early lead.

Lamar and their O has been struggling ever since the KC game. We have qb questions of our own. Should be interesting.

The blueprint for beating Baltimore has been established and still hasn't seemed to change. Get up on them early and make Lamar throw the ball while keeping him in the pocket. The NFL will rue the day when Lamar figures out how to handle this (I think he will), but for now... this is it. If you're a team like the Chiefs, this is pretty doable. Ravens D is good, but the Chiefs O is something else. I think if we keep progressing we can get there, but the Ravens team, overall (offense and defense) is just too much team to handle for the Browns right now. We have too many holes.

J/C... don't see this QB question of our own???

Again its 4 games into ANOTHER NEW OFFENSE. Things should click better and better as we go along.

As for our schedule and its progress - Health is the key factor.

Chubb should be back for the Eagle game??? if out for a longer period of time do we pick up a troubled soul like Le'Veon Bell???

Wish we could pick up a stellar Safety -- from a losing team before the trade deadline. Jets got rid of theirs already.

I like Harrison. But he is a SS Hopefully Redwine can grow into that FS position. I was thinking of Greedy Williams taking that FS spot when he gets healthy. Doubt the position change but just thinking out loud to you all!
