Bengals do suck, but the got screw today also. Two questionable instant replay calls.

Not that I really care, the Bengals lost so that's a good thing to me.

All the Bengal fans have seemed to have disappeared.

Isn't it funny, we suck for quite some time but we still come here and defend our team week in and week out but once their ship starts to leak they head right for the life boat never to be seen again.

Here are some snippets from a news article I found - great stuff, for those of you who hate Chad.

Steelers: Smith gets in
Bengals WRs' heads
By: Chris Harlan, Times Sports Staff
10/27/2007

CINCINNATI - Anthony Smith went hunting for Bengals receiver Chad Johnson during pregame warm-ups.

Smith had a message. Actually, it was more of a warning.
"I just told him to make sure he keeps his mouthpiece in," said Smith, the Steelers hard-hitting safety with a growing reputation for talking trash and punishing receivers.

"Chad said he don't wear one."

That became obvious.

Johnson slammed face-first into the Paul Brown Stadium turf in the third quarter when Smith broke up a long pass intended for the Pro Bowl receiver and out popped the removable gold caps that covered Johnson's teeth.
How embarrassing.

Johnson had five catches for 51 yards. T.J. Houshmandzadeh had seven catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Smith said he had them a little preoccupied.

"They were looking for me," he said "I had their heads on a swivel. That made it difficult for them. ... It's good to get some hits on the receivers because they start looking for you instead of looking for the ball."

The gold teeth are part of Johnson's attention-grabbing antics. Having Troy Polamalu hand them back after taking a big hit had to be humbling. Johnson left the Bengals locker room without talking to reporters, refusing to discuss Smith or anything else.

My bro-in-law played HS ball with Smith. He isn't a Steeler fan, but my mother-in-law is, since she grew up in Latrobe. And I have to hear about him all the time.........

That being said, I also get joy in seeing Chad Johnson getting his teeth knocked out and handed back to him. Can't stand anybody who puts himself above the team.

You know, there are no more Cincinnati fans around here, and Mike is the only Ravens fan (who really wants to smack him?).

Like Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster, one has to wonder if they really exist at all.... or is it just some occassional sightings of what appears to be Bengal fans.....

Marvin's press conferences are getting more amusing every day. I guess the Bengals had a couple of instances where they only had 10 defensive players on the field during plays. Marvin's answer was that it was no big deal because those players were not going to be involved on that particular play. OMG, he really has become bengalized.

Lewis: 'Playoffs are possible'
Lewis focused on the future, not second-guessing
BY MARK CURNUTTE

Marvin Lewis didn't kick a field goal Monday.

He ran a reverse.

A day after saying he should have run a play on fourth-and-1 from the Steelers' 2-yard line at the end of the first half Sunday, the Bengals' head coach Monday said he would kick the field goal if faced with the decision again.

The field goal pulled the Bengals to within 14-6. The Steelers scored a third consecutive touchdown to take a commanding 21-6 halftime lead en route to the 24-13 victory.

"I still feel we're going to possess the ball three more times, by taking the points," Lewis said Monday, having been afforded the chance to sleep on his decision. "We have an opportunity to stop them, get the ball back before halftime, then have the ball coming out in the third quarter. So I'm probably going to still kick the field goal at that point with where we were in the game.

"It's easy to look back on it now, particularly after they score a touchdown, and think that makes a difference."

So on fourth-and-1 you'd do it again, the same way?

"Yes."

On Sunday, in his post-game news conference, Lewis mentioned the decision in his opening statement - before he could be asked about it by a reporter - and said, "In hindsight, we should have gone for it on fourth down rather than take the points. I didn't anticipate them driving down and getting a touchdown before halftime.

"It's easy to look back on it now, particularly after they score a touchdown, and think that makes a difference. ... It was important to get points."

Lewis' about-face was part of a surreal day at Paul Brown Stadium. Few players were in the locker room. Lewis had scheduled the off day last week. There was a sense the season was slipping away with a fifth loss in six games. Fatigue was almost conspicuous.

Lewis' fifth Bengals team is now three games under .500 and three games behind first-place Pittsburgh in the AFC North.

Still, the Bengals are thinking playoffs.

"We can't worry. The playoffs are possible. The playoffs are there. The playoffs are not out of reach," Lewis said.

"But we don't need to worry about them. We need to worry about win No. 3 in Buffalo this week. That's what's important. This is the game that counts. We don't need to look ahead.

"If we take care of ourselves, we'll be fine. And at this point, we can still do that. Let's take care of what we have to take care of."

In the 16-team AFC - six teams qualify for the postseason tournament - the Bengals are currently the 13th seed; 12 teams have more victories, including nine teams with four or more. Five teams - New England, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville and Tennessee - have five or more victories.

Lewis and his players are surprised and disappointed to be 2-5. Nine games remain. How does a team turn around its season?

"You have to go back to the little things. Why are we not doing this? Why is this blowing up in our face? That's all. Keep it at that," Lewis said. "We have some guys who care a lot. Those guys can still put us on their shoulders, as long as they don't get outside the realm of what they're supposed to do, and move us forward."

Nationally, some NFL pundits think Lewis' job is in jeopardy in Cincinnati. Now in his fifth season, Lewis has a 37-34 regular season record. The Bengals have lost 13 of their last 20 regular-season games.

I know this is the shack, but really, after reading this i don't think he did an about face as the journalist is trying to say.

I think in the post game, he was saying in hind sight they should have gone for it on 4th and 1. But if in the position again in the future, he would still make the same decision, which many coaches would as well.

No different, than if they had gone for it, and missed, everyone would be calling it a boneheaded decision.

They are beating the hell out of him around here for not going for it. I agree with the criticism, when you have the record of the Bengals and you have told your team to toughen up and not flinch against the Steelers and the first opportunity you as a coach get in the game....you flinch big time, and then change your story several times after the fact.

The players were pissed too, and didn't hide the fact.

Here is as good of a place as any.

Let me title this 8 weeks ago.

You see, 8 weeks ago Chad Johnson had a touchdown celebration it involved a jacket that said future hall of famer.

I believe Chad Johnson needs to publicly apoligize for that agreegis mistake

Because seriously since then, not a thing has gone right for Chad on the football field.
7 weeks ago the bengals played the Browns and the bengals lost all hope, all momemtum, when they lost that game.
Now dude is injured, and that ain't right.

Get well Chad, and burn that jacket.

what a difference two months make.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

its a week til Chrismas 2007, the Browns are 9-5 a win this weekend from clinching a playoff spot the Bengals 5-9 and are enjoying a suicide watch type season... lance mccallister and the other local sports radio hosts have been a riot to listen to as they have asked for the heads of chuck bresnehan, marvin lewis, chad johnson, and even carson palmer alternately through this season

I will be at this game, I will be loud, and crapinati will know my wrath
