Browns are well represented. First team: RG Wyatt Teller, Cleveland Browns One of the biggest surprise performances of the season has been the play of Wyatt Teller at right guard for the Browns. Teller had the best PFF grade of any player at any position in Week 4, but he has been excellent even outside of that game — he's been a different player to anything we have seen from him in his career before this season. Teller’s overall PFF grade is 94.1, and he has allowed just three hurries across three games while dominating on the ground. The worst run-blocking grade of his season is 78.7, with the other three being at least 84.0. Teller has been a huge part of Cleveland’s offensive success. RT Jack Conklin, Cleveland Browns Along with Teller, the arrival of Jack Conklin has transformed Cleveland’s offensive line. Jedrick Wills Jr. has held up well on the other side of the line at left tackle, but Jack Conklin was made for this offensive system and has been able to bulldoze players on the ground, especially with combination blocks with Teller inside. Conklin has also been good as a pass-blocker, allowing four total pressures across four games. This is always likely to be the weaker part of his game, but he is on course for the second-best PFF pass-blocking grade of his career. EDGE Myles Garrett, Cleveland Browns The only edge rusher with a higher PFF pass-rushing grade than T.J. Watt is Myles Garrett. With an extra game under his belt compared to his divisional foe, Garrett leads the NFL in total pressures, with 27. He trails only Watt and Khalil Mack in pass-rush win rate (23.1) and has an absurd three forced fumbles in four games. Not to mention, his five sacks are tied with Za’Darius Smith‘s total for the most in the NFL. Garrett was playing at this level last season before being suspended for the second half of the year, but he looks set to play an entire campaign as a truly dominant edge rusher. Second team: J.C. Tretter,

Great post, Vers! I am tickled pink to see the caliber of solid performance here at key line positions, especially after the stinker of our opener. I am really overjoyed with the play of Teller, wherever it came from and however it happened. The bigger half of blocking and tackling is wanting to do so. Teller appears to be markedly committed to his assignments, and at his best now.
Hats off to these leaders. And honors to MG! DMVP in my book.

Teller has been outstanding, I have focused on him a number of times and he has been blowing open holes...
Kudos to him and that is a huge unexpected player emerging.
Perhaps the best off season move was the hiring of Callahan and he has done a great job, as expected...
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!…. That did not age well.

It’s amazing how many good runs have come as the result of him pulling. He’s a great road-grater

How does Pff, rank the Browns tight ends, Hooper, Njoku, and Bryant in order of best, 2nd and next best, is my question.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Njoku is first w/a rating of 88.6. but does not have enough snaps to qualify in the rankings.
Hooper is at 72.4 and ranked 15th out of 64 TEs.
Carlson has a grade of 69.0, but not enough snaps to qualify for a league ranking.
Bryant is at 64.6 and ranked 35th out of 64 TEs.

Njoku is coming back. I though Bryant had a big game, the biggest game a couple of games ago, so I'm surprised he's 4th.

I think are TEs are a bright spot this year. I don't care if we don't draft anything but maybe a later round OL next year on O, use it on D. The O is set if we can keep everybody.

Malcolm Smith has been a pleasant surprise. He’s been solid.
Baker’s just not a good QB (as we’ve all said).
And our safeties leave so much to be desired. I wish we had Delpit just to see if we’d be any better there

I was just adding to your updated list.
On a side note, Janovich has told some great stories on WKNR and 92.3.

Shocked to see six players rank below Sandejo. Having trouble imagining that. He CERTAINLY has some upside.

How do they even say there are 82 FS? that would mean that each team has each played 2.75 FS who meet the minimum criteria.
doesn't seem possible.

Shocked to see six players rank below Sandejo. Having trouble imagining that. He CERTAINLY has some upside. What kills me, is that the coaches, and even the guys on CBD all talk about Sendejo as if he is this stalwart player. It is more than visible to the naked eye that the guy is horrible. He can call the defense from the backend, but he can't make the plays. He flies around out of control, and is a horrble tackler.

Harrison 2nd (safeties)!?
I like him, but that doesn't seem right.
I'm surprised Bitonio is that high. I tend to see a couple negative plays from him each game where I don't/can't see that as much from the other big fellas.
I know he's a rook and everything, but I would've thought Wills would've been higher.

I would say Harrison's grade is probably influenced by him not having as many reps as others. I also think it helps that he has two turnovers in his limited sample size.
I think Bitonio's grade is legit. I know we don't concentrate on this, but look at all the clean pockets we had this past Sunday.
Hard for me to judge Richardson because it is so congested. Maybe issues against the run? Not sure.
Oh, and you're welcome.

I know he's a rook and everything, but I would've thought Wills would've been higher. Harrison has made a lot of plays in limited action, so I'm sure that boosts his grade. INT for the TD and I think 2 fumble recoveries in 2 or 3 games? Plus he had at least2 other deflections that should have been INTs.

After I posted I went back and looked at relative # of snaps. I think I'm mixing up players that are out there opposite of Sendejo, because I didn't realize there was a shuffle.
Definitely the same thing going on with Higgins above Landry.

j/c We've seen a good amount of talk about Baker's very real issues when under pressure, speed of processing, post snap reading of the D. . . . all legit. And to support his struggles the PFF grades have been referenced.
We've also had discussions about whether OBJ helps Baker be a better QB or might somehow negatively influence his decision making. That was dismissed by many because OBJ is considered as fact by some to be an elite WR despite some well documented struggles here in CLE ..... after this last game and the difference in Baker's performance it is certainly something a lot of the 'experts' are talking about now. Including Orlovsky who was previously referenced as something of an oracle, which I find interesting. I don't necessary buy into this 100% - but it's worth discussing and looking at. What will be more revealing is how Baker does under pressure without OBJ - something he wasn't vs Cinci.
Last thing - given we have someone posting PFF grades to highlight/verify how bad Baker has been, the same poster who says OBJ is elite .... why are OBJ's PFF grades and ranking being hidden? A major piece of the offence seems to be deliberately omitted.

re: Baker w/ and w/o OBJ...
KS has said said that they do look to get OBJ involved early in games. I hear that and think they do try to force him the ball a bit. That probably affects Baker's processing while in the play (giving a little extra focus to OBJ compared to when he's not out there). I might even say, for argument's purpose, that NOT having OBJ out there could result in an overall positive to the offense. The thing here is the why... and the why doesn't point to getting rid of OBJ as addressing the problem. If Baker can't function as well when he has an elite WR in the offense, that's a Baker problem, not an OBJ problem.
And again... that's assuming that this is actually the problem. There was too much time in the Cinci game between when OBJ left the game and when Baker started throwing the ball well for me to believe that theory.

Agreed ... and I said something like this elsewhere: It's entirely possible / probable that Higgins has better chemistry with Baker - and OBJ is a vastly superior talent. If Baker and the play calling is somehow negatively impacted by having a athletic phenom like OBJ lining up, that's a Baker (and possibly KS) issue, not a OBJ issue. Don't underestimate the impact of chemistry - don't underestimate or undervalue the impact of elite talent.
I'm still interested to see where OBJ ranks ... it does scream agenda that he's been left off the list.

When teams spread us out and just quick throw to eliminate pressure ... they can literally just pick on Goodson or Sendejo or whoever. It’s like fish in a barrel.
Not sure how to scheme it more effectively on our end
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
