Damn.
Here we are in the thick of things and we get this news.
Hate this crap. Sorry for Myles and the team.
Clayborn and Gustin are just going to have to fill in. Clayborn has lots experience. Of course there is no comparison to Myles. He stands alone in freak skills.
But all is not lost. We can still win this game. It will be harder no doubt. But you can not adopt the attitude that this makes this a loss. Can not do that.
Vernon needs to step up his game as well. It will take a combination of players to do their job.
That means offense, defense, and special teams.

Just crunching some numbers...
So now over 5% of the NFL has tested positive. 45% of the positive cases are within the last 20 days. Things are going to get ugly.
Not sure I agree about "ugly", but it will become a bigger challenge. I think that's why the NFL left open the possibility of adding an additional playoff team should the season not finish with 16 games and they have plans to push the playoffs back. It'll be something they continue to manage. You push forward, that's all you can do. Also, let's look at it this way, if we do win this week, we're obviously the team of destiny. #NextManUp

I'm just speaking of the math, not whether the league can still find a way to complete may become a watered down season. You can only do so much to prevent the spread with all these players in close contact on gameday, in essence, everything you've done to safeguard all week goes straight out the window.
We've been "safeguarding" and testing since early August, over one third of positive tests are within the last ten days. Simple math says there will be a lot of spread this weekend and a ton more positive tests next week. I hope not, but I'm not very confident.
HERE WE GO BROWNIES! HERE WE GO!!

I don't know that professional players need any extra motivation, but this would contribute to it.

Obviously the pass rush will suffer some.
However, if people do their job we can still prevail.
Coverage will have to be better. Stopping the run and still applying honest pressure can still happen.
Maybe we will have to score more or hold the ball longer. But there are ways to still win the game.

I wonder if Garrett will ever play a full season. nah. he's basically Cortney Brown and Lee Suggs combined. we should trade him.

I wonder if Garrett will ever play a full season. Not only is he incapable of playing a full season, these next two missed games pretty much kill any chance of DPOY.

Not a surprise. Covid is exploding everywhere and as I said before the season it is NOT possible to protect players/coaches/staff from Covid-19 while conducting an NFL season. Players will get it. Coaches will get it. Staff will get it. 200,000 new cases every day now and that is just the ones we know of through testing. The league and players made the choice that having the season and getting that money was more important than Covid-19. I'm not saying that was right or wrong, just that this comes as no surprise and every team will eventually be hit by this. I just hope that Myles is one of the lucky ones with a very mild case. Covid can result in the scarring of lung tissue and do long term damage. That would be very bad. So a speedy recovery to you Myles. Here's also hoping he didn't pass it to half the defense before they learned he had it...

The Eagles have given up over 30 sacks so far this season. So even with us taking a hit not having Garrett, hopefully we can still get some pressure on Wentz. A silver lining I guess. Get well Myles, we need ya.

Myles is one of the top 2 or 3 pass rushers in the league. It's a big loss for us and a big plus for Philly. You bet his absence will make a difference in this game. It was already a tough game to win even with him. Now ???

Coming out party for Vernon 3 Sacks, hope he plays like that when Myles returns

Amen to that. Winning can be contagious. Today we put the Iggles away. We finished big. Order more game balls! Ward and Chubb first. Who else earned one? Vernon?

I can go with that. Pleasantly surprised by Hodge's numbers yesterday.

I can go with that. Pleasantly surprised by Hodge's numbers yesterday. he was a bright spot. He had 2-3 really big catches, namely the one when we were backed up on our goal line

j/c....
So glad we grew as a defensive team. I just wonder what that game would have looked like if Garrett played...10 sack day for the team...lol
But guys stepped it up. Vernon was once a great player I hope he has enough juice to last the season alongside Garrett. One more game without him and then I think we are ready to let loose the Kraken!
Ward excellent job. As did Vernon - Taki Taki showed some game as did Elliot our rookie DT.
Sandejo continues to baffle me on how does he get playing time. He has these coaches fooled great in practice room. I think I saw him once bringing the Donuts...
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

Coming out party for Vernon 3 Sacks, hope he plays like that when Myles returns On at least 2 of his sacks (plus some hits) Vernon just straight up manhandled his guy. No strategy or technique, just walked him back. I know Lane Johnson and Peters are old (heard their names called) but they're not shlubs.

Peters will be in the Hall of Fame someday. Lane Johnson is one of the best right tackles in the league.

That's ominous that they're already stating that unequivocally right now.

I'm hoping that it's a simple protocol where if you test positive, then it's goodbye for no less than 2 weeks. I hope it's not because it's serious.

I feel that if this were all it was, that the tweet would have included this information as to the Why. I don't like that it was just stated with no clarifying information with it because that makes me think it is because they cannot due to HIPPA stuff. Hopefully, the timing of symptoms is all it is.

Maybe Browns are being ultra-conservative? They've thought this way already this season. Perhaps they're also accounting for the extra time needed to get him back up and running once he's symptom-free.
Just hoping for the best for him over here.

Don't risk exposure stuff. Hope he is better soon. So how often will he test this week? I assume he is on some kinda countdown or double-secret probation. Pulled this game's trigger quicker than I thought that they might have.
