Ya know, I was gonna toast these republicans. But then I realized that plenty of morons in this state voted for these clowns.

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch...ver-coronavirus

In a statement shared with local news outlets, Becker's office blasted DeWine, alleging "mismanagement, malfeasance, misfeasance, abuse of power, and other crimes include, but are not limited to, meddling in the conduct of a presidential primary election, arbitrarily closing and placing curfews on certain businesses, while allowing other businesses to remain open."

The group of state Republican lawmakers argues that DeWine violated Ohioans' civil liberties by issuing a stay-at-home order and requiring them to wear masks. They have argued that the face covering rule “promotes fear, turns neighbors against neighbors, and contracts the economy by making people fearful to leave their homes.”

The lawmakers first threatened the articles of impeachment in August, announcing they were being drafted.

A majority of the Ohio House of Representatives would need to approve the resolution, and then two-thirds of the Ohio Senate would have to vote to convict the governor.

In August, when Becker and others suggested 10 articles, DeWine brushed off the effort.

"As governor, my priorities are to keep people safe and to get our economy moving faster," DeWine said at the time. "If there are others in the legislature who want to spend their time drawing up resolutions and filing articles ... I'd just say to them, 'Have at it.'"

The impeachment effort comes a week after a county in Michigan approved approved a resolution to support the impeachment of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), who has faced criticism for her coronavirus orders.

We have to get these pitiful losers out of our government. They disgust me and I want nothing but bad things for the whole lot of them. Before Trump I never minded living in a GOP state... Now I hate it. And the sad part is, at our age with the family ties here in Ohio, it would be ridiculous to move to another state over state politics. But that state house is full of Gym Jordan types and Qanon types. These are the people making the calls that protect, care for, and determine program funding for our children and elderly. They set our priorities and agenda as a state... They represent us... smh

Cracks me up, GOPers trying to impeach GOPers. And they are stripping powers from the governors as if this will not affect any new governors that might represent them.

Republicans are stranded in a quagmire of their own creation and can't see facts clearly enough to stop eating themselves and weakening themselves. I have to admit, if they weren't so insane, I would be thoroughly enjoying this.

Georgia congress people don't really like the Georgia Govenor.

I think there is a difference of culture.

Congress people are in general self serving windbags. And Govenors actually manage the state and have accountability to the people.

There is literally nothing we can trust from the media, going forward.

Sure, they can, begin, to get around, to dealing with tyranny?, in a, giving it lip service sort of way, after the damage is done,

it is timing. It is just to placate the harsh feelings of the masses who have been betrayed.
yet it is a meaningless gesture, like a slow clap at the frown
The election was faked. The media massively supported without question;

Trump gets beat and republicans start to eat their young... Geez.

What was it they expected from DeWine? Look I didn't vote for him but I gotta say, I think he did a decent job.

Pandemics are something that nobody in office today have much if any experience dealing with. In fact they have NO experience with anything like it.

As Governor, DeWine is responsible for the well being of everyone in Ohio.

What was it that some of these guys would have done had they had that responsibility.

This is Dumb... Totally idiotic.

Ohio tea party leader urges Trump to suspend the Constitution, declare martial law to hold new vote

https://www.cleveland.com/open/2020/12/o...d-new-vote.html

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A prominent Ohio tea party leader has taken out a full-page ad in the Washington Times calling on President Donald Trump to temporarily suspend the Constitution and declare martial law to stage a “re-vote” of the 2020 presidential election.

The ad, placed by Tom Zawistowski of the We the People Convention, drew swift criticism from at least one top Ohio Republican.

In the ad, Zawistowski states that when Democrat Joe Biden is formally elected the next president, as is expected, Trump should order the U.S. military to oversee a new election for federal candidates using only paper ballots.

Zawistowski cited unfounded claims of voter fraud, many of which have been vocally pushed by Trump himself. Trump’s campaign has filed dozens of lawsuits in battleground states narrowly won by Biden, though those suits have mostly been thrown out or withdrawn.

“Without a fair vote, we fear, with good reason, the threat of a shooting civil war is imminent,” the ad states, adding a vague warning that if Trump doesn’t declare martial law, “We will also have no other choice but to take matters into our own hands, and defend our rights on our own.”

Zawistowski, also the executive director of the Portage County Tea Party, has been one of Ohio’s most visible tea party leaders. Known in Ohio political circles as “Tom Z.,” he ran unsuccessfully for Ohio Republican Party chair in 2013.

The exact extent of Zawistowski’s influence is debatable, though a candidate forum he organized in suburban Columbus in 2017 attracted three of the four Republicans who were running at the time for governor, including now-Gov. Mike DeWine, as well as hundreds of tea party activists.

In 2018, he made the news again when he denied that an offer to endorse then-Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor’s gubernatorial campaign in exchange for $1 million to help fund candidates for the state Republican Party’s central committee constituted an “extortion” attempt.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost wrote on Twitter that the ad is “utterly irresponsible, ahistorical and without precedent or legal rationale.”

________

Why is it that the right wing ideology that is worried about civil war are the same ones constantly threatening to start one?

And man the nut bags we have in this state is scary.

Fine Americans.

And during the primaries and during the election we heard these Cult of Trump supporters bang on about what it means to be American and how a vote for the Dems would be a vote that would undermine the very fabric of our country.

And here we are with those same individuals wanting to throw out the will of the people. Undermine 80 million votes for Biden. They want to ignore the Election that we had ... BECAUSE ? Because of nothing more than empty lies from Trump who has no evidence of ANYTHING being unusual or unfair about the election.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

If I understand correctly, it's not about tossing out the will of the people to them... it's about them not being able to understand the gravity that is a global pandemic enough to stop shouting 'muh rights!' because they suddenly need to wear a mask and take a step back.

GOPers trying to alter the reality of the election even if it means destroying democracy in the US. smh

Aren't these the same people who smugly said, "Elections have consequences" while smirking at the left in 2016-17? I guess that crap only flows left.

Is anyone else tired of hearing right wing nuts proclaim that the election was a fraud without actually showing evidence?

I mean, every court that has looked at this has thrown it out. Yet they continue..

I love it.

Hell if I was the GOP, I’d keep doing it too. If their voting base is dumb enough to continue donating money to that nonsense, keep it going til the well dries up.

It’s only logical from the party perspective.

That's why I asked my question in the fraud thread. I really just don't get it at all.

The only thing I can think of is that it's like those stages of grief, or some type of amygdala reaction in your brain. Something happens that conflicts with your sense of reality so you have to change the reality, and react with fight or flight.
