The entire Saints RB room won’t be available tomorrow bc of close contact to Alvin Kamara. Latavius Murry, Burton, Washington, RB coach all out tomorrow @NFLonFOX. They are moving Ty Montgomery to RB and calling up practice squad RB

They also have Taysom Hill to help with the running game, whether as QB or emergency RB.

The Covid situations have really thrown a wrench into EVERY game basically

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

This was shocking, no RB starters at all?

It is a crazy year. Wonder what happens in playoffs with COVID. I liked the Hints this year. The eventual SB winner might be the one with the best PS.

Just to get ready for the playoffs and subs, wife-person and I watched The Replacements today.
Love the flick. thumbsup

I’m very grateful that I’m not watching this Jaguars/Colts game hoping for a miracle.

Didn't a Miami loss get us in too, even if we lost?

Definitely. Hilarious that the NFL got duped in to thinking the Eagles would try to win this game.

It was basically their only choice. They can't move games to SNF that would have other teams rest their guys. For example, if we got moved to SNF and the Colts lost it would basically be a nothing game. Washington/Philly was the only game that had real playoff implications that didn't affect any other game.

This was a nothing game. "Real" in this sense was imaginary, but the NFL did their best to sell it.

I only watched it because it was NFL football... and NFL football only happens for a quarter of any year.

In other words- I was not fooled.

How BAD would you feel to be Nate Sudfeld haha .. I mean they basically said YOU SUCK ... and threw him out there.

He was trying his hardest to win and they rightfully knew he had no chance

Was Hurts even playing well? I turned the game off, but his stat line doesn't make a great "why did you pull me" argument.

And let's keep a little perspective here. We're talking about which 6-win team gets a playoff spot.

It was a pretty good game and then out of no where some Scrubeenie who doesn't even resemble an NFL QB gets thrown in there for a good portion of the game. The look on the Eagles OL as in - We fought so hard for this game and then you sabotage us??? Why play the game. The defense didn't give up they still played hard. It was an INSULT TO FOOTBALL! The Game of the week and they did that. Fine them and take away draft PICK/s

I agree with you, Eo.

After I thought about it, I think it'll be tough for the league to figure out how to fairly punish a team for taking out its starters to tank the game when there are other teams that are also taking out their starters to rest for the playoffs.

I wonder if there could be a rule in place that could be something along the lines of punishing "clear and obvious" tactics utilized to increase a team's draft pick.

Hurts had them 1st and goal from the five yard line down three (2 mins left in the 3rd). They ran up the middle and then passed three times. Odd play calls since they were running it so well, Hurts can't throw and Hurts already had two running TDs. They should have called a few RPO's with Hurts or ran a naked bootleg.

Also, they went for it instead on tying it up on 4th down, which is insane. Sure, the analytics say to go for it (barely), but the analytics are for an average team, Philly is bad and can't throw. If you're QB is Hurts, you tie it up and head to the 4th. Why call a pass play on 4th and G from the 4?

And the very next series, they put in the backup, which was essentially an announcement they're auditioning him for next year and to hell with the Giants. Heck, Washington even screwed up by throwing a 4th quarter interception and then two plays later, the Eagles fumble it right back. I'm not saying they fumbled on purpose, but if you're tanking, that'd be the way to do it.

I know, I know, the Giants should have won more games if they wanted to win the division. I agree. And yes, we're talking about the NFC East, which will likely get smoked next weekend anyway. Also, why should Philly care about the Giants?

Maybe they'd rather see the Redskins in based on their preference. With all that being said, that was a bad game to showcase to the nation.

I didn't realize there was such a huge swing in their draft position by losing that game. Does give you pause.

That said, I also think that if Hurts was making it happen, then he would've finished the game.

The Philly situation will be interesting. They’re in such a weird spot: Wentz sucked, but has a huge cap number ... Hurts played OK, but is probably a limited prospect ... they don’t have a top, top pick ... tough spot

One meaningless game (one half really) moving you from 9 to 6....

9 to 6 is a biiiiig move. I don't know about the draft class, but once you get closer to 10, you risk missing out on that tip top crust of blue-chip talent. I always think back to the draft that got us Haden. Haden was the pick, but only because whatever QB was picked at 1, Suh and Eric Berry were all gone.

I wonder if they eventually go the route that Denver went with us a few years back. Trying to trade Wentz and draft picks to another team to offload the cap.

The more I think about it though, the less that seems feasible with multiple years on his contract. Just throwing out wild ideas.

Unless Indy is a good fit and they eat some salary or something. The Colts are one team who is basically plug and play at QB

Something occurred to me watching the end of the HOU-TEN game. Other than HOU channeling CLE after they tied it up and letting the one thing happen that they could not allow - letting a guy get behind the D. One play, TEN is in FG range in the final seconds.

What I was wondering came from the next play. TEN had time outs so they ran one more play to Henry, to squeeze out some more yards to make the game winning FG a bit easier. HOU was ready for it and they got a hold of Henry quickly and stood him up.

What if those defenders, instead of stopping Henry cold, just slowly moved Henry forward, while keeping him in their grip? Just enough so that he was making forward progress. Maybe keeps the refs from blowing the play dead, and they manage to use up the rest of the clock. Then it is in OT.

Not easy to do, but it was a thought.

No not the same thing...that is a given now a days to rest especially the QBs or an injured player if you are already in the playoffs and your seating is already established.

This was a team who was not going to be in the playoffs. I can see if they had the scrub as the starter from the get go.
But it was actually a good competitive game and then the PLUG was PULLED. This isn't the NBA where you lose for a draft pick.

Sitting players after you secured your status of playoffs should be allowed. But what the Eagles did was an insult to the game!
