So, Bitonio is positive... that means that there is a high likelihood that at least one or more Steelers DLine may test positive later this week. The average incubation time from exposure is 5-7 days, but up to 14.... so, for Bitonio to test positive yesterday/today, he had to have been positive during the game. We know you can transmit before showing symptoms or even being able to test positive, so there is a strong probability that the Steelers DLine and maybe LBs will take a hit this week, too.

I'd say it is almost a certainty that they will... the only question is whether it happens during this week or not until after Sunday.

I’m not totally worried about missing our HC ... my biggest concern right now: the contact tracing that’s about to ravage our team.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Once the line spikes, I'm going to put money on the Browns + the points.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Unfortunately this most likely is the tip of the iceberg.

Contact tracing on going.

We just played the Steelers. KS talked with Tomlin before and after the game.

Bitonio and Hodge both played Sunday. So who knows how many will turn up on contact list or test positive.

Contract tracing should ravage their team too, that is, if the league is taking this serious. We'll see.

I'm not advocating the Steelers to be out to help our chances, just saying, contact tracing is contact tracing. Our positive players were in close contact with a lot of Steelers players.

Our only hope would be to postpone the game, but hell, that could make the postseason weird.

I said before the season started, the NFL needed to have a bubble for the postseason. Take a week off, get to the bubble, test and isolate to ensure the postseason goes on without massive issues. Oh well.

Here's what I'm finding most odd and your comments made me think of it. Since we played the Steelers and Bitonio was in close contact with many of their DL and other Steelers players, why wouldn't they be placed on the close contact list?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Th 15 consecutive minute rule is enforced IIRC

It's not just contact on the field. Those Steelers and other Browns players were then mingling in the locker rooms after the game. I'd think most of our players would be on the contact tracing list.

Can they push this game back one week? This can get horrible with Stefanski now testing positive

And Ravens' probably said, Go Ahead, call it a forfeit, and don't broadcast a game, broadcast a freaking lifetime movie in the time slot.

So the NFL could say they played all their 256 games.

If they want to forfeit? Yes.

Let’s be honest, the best way to get this game delayed is get enough players on the COVID list so that we can’t field a team.

I say, If Jimmy Haslem digs his heels in, and refuses to travel to Pittsburgh!

And really refuses, and the whole team says, go ahead league,

Then there are 5 NFL Clubs, in the AFC Playoffs,

That are going to wonder how the steelers would get to advance without playing a game, and the League, won't have a current game to broadcast for sponsors, in one of it's timeslots,

because if its' a forfeit, it won't be the 8pm that doesn't go on,

But!

There's a chance, if you force the leagues hand!

That they'll come up with some way to move it.

FULL STOP!

Why can't it be moved to Monday or Tuesday? Teams play on Sunday before Thanksgiving and just 4 days later. Why can't it be done with the playoffs?

We'd need a lot more positives and people on the contact tracing list for the league to postpone the game. There are very strict rules against a team not traveling on purpose. Like, what do you think would happen if a coach pulled a team off the field because of a bad officiating call? The team would be fined $50M and their first round picks for a decade. If our team can travel and the league says they need to, you HAVE to travel.

It all comes down to the positives and contact tracing list. If it's too big, then the league has to consider moving the game. Sure, that would impact the rest of the playoff schedule, but they're the ones that refused to add in off weeks in case this happened.

Even if it was we still wouldn’t have Stefanski back. And say the Steelers win, now they are at a huge competitive disadvantage because of something totally out of their control.

According the NFL’s definition of an outbreak it’s not an outbreak.

The NFL's medical experts believe last week's #Browns COVID cases were all from community spread, not a facility outbreak. Genomic sequencing showed three different strains of virus, I'm told. No positive tests Sunday or Monday. But now, 5 positives today and facility is closed.

It's not giving up, it is digging in.
Covid, is new!
What you are talking about is Contractual obligation.
So! Does the League, want to have the Covid, Court Case?
Tie it up in the Courts, or Protect the shield, which way does the NFL want to proceed?

Force the Leagues Hand! They can move it, they just don't want to,
they moved the Ravens game, 4 TIMES!

Dig in your heels! Power to the People! Go Browns!
Ohio against the world!
Browns!!! Raised fist!

It is Tuesday, there could be 5, or there could be 10 more positives by Sunday.

2 days ago, it was all good news, even healh watch wise, 2 days ago, all the news was players coming back.

I believe that is because to meet the definition of "close contact" it has to be 15 minutes of continuous close contact. In a game, you are close, then you're not. Then you're close again, then you're not.
It's nothing more than semantics, but that's the game they play with it.

Not that I want it, but why would close contact not be invoked, for players on both teams?

To note: coach handing him a football has nothing to do with it. That happened Sunday. It doesn't work that quickly. Based on everything known of covid, there is zero chance that this action is why Bitonio tested positive - UNLESS, it is a false positive.

I think what irks me about this is that if we had someone on our staff being grossly negligent (Ravens) and all these players had caught the virus through that means, we would be better off than if we had all of our players coming down with it because of the "community."

such organizational failure. all good feelings about making playoffs ofcourse gone with the imminent beat down that is going to occur. Best thing to hope for is alot of steelers end up out for covid too. Don't believe for a second this is all community spread.. I guarantee its a facility issue. Because we know everyone is wearing masks and staying away from people when they are away from the facility right? rolleyes
