I got this one: Sedition, civil unrest, insurrection... The POTUS is inciting all of this on total lies and his ardent supporters believe every word... he's going to get them killed, and he won't feel a thing.

This is just the dress rehearsal if you ask me. Trump has been tweeting "see you on the 6th" for a couple weeks. He planned this. It's time to invoke the 25th... If not now, when? I hope they conduct the inauguration indoors, because I fear the very worst on that day.

What's going on is a lame-duck president has been trying everything to try to overturn an election that has, time and time again, been established as legitimate. Despite being unable to show any legit evidence, the braying from him continues.

Now that he's run out of time, he incited a riot with purpose of stopping the proceedings to count the (legit) electoral college votes. None of his lapdogs would follow through with his order, so he unleashed his trained monkeys.

That rioters are storming the capitol based upon their belief that an election was stolen, which was a belief promulgated and asserted by the current president and his followers, who have litigated that notion and lost over sixty times. That notion was then adopted by a minority of legislators, who objected to a symbolic certification of electoral college votes, against the leadership of those in their own party, such as the Senate Majority leader, who earlier stated "The voters, the courts, and the states have all spoken. If we overrule them all, it would damage our republic forever. ... If this election were overturned by mere allegations from the losing side, our democracy would enter a death spiral. We'd never see the whole nation accept an election again."

Did I get anything wrong?

Somebody should call ANTIFA in... they know how to handle fascist.

Sad it has come down to this. I expect more to come, maybe years to come.

To me, this is the medias fault. They don't report news any longer. They spew hate and divisiveness.

The media wants impeachment hearings. They want riots.

On a slightly different note, just as an update to this ^.

It happened Monday morning, around 12:15 a.m.

Dude was arrested this morning. I have NO problem sharing his name: Brandon Morris, a 2017 h.s. grad.

He's sitting in CCNO right now (Correctional Center of Northwest Ohio - it serves 5 counties, as well as the city of Toledo)

I applaud the police for their work.

This is the same guy that, in the summer of 2018, was fortunately arrested for menacing 2 girls, ages 14 and 13.

They were walking down a county road. He went past them multiple times, then finally stopped and chased them. They ran into a field while being chased, and called 911. Luckily, there was a deputy nearby, and he arrived and arrested this Brandon guy. Deputy also found a list of people in Brandon's car of people he wanted to harm.

He spent some time in CCNO for that. I guess not enough time to think everything through.

The home he broke into? Parents of 3 biological kids, and adoptive parents to 4 other kids, 3 of which are girls - oldest of the adopted kids is my daughter's age.

I do not know what charges he will face for breaking and entering, or what the sentencing could be, but I hope he gets the maximum sentence allowed under the law.

What garbage.

This is Trump. He owns all of today and everything that follows. He has baselessly claimed the election was fraudulent and stolen from him. He has fed his loyal - dumb, mindless, moronic faithful who can't think for themselves this lie ... he was given every opportunity through this countries legal system to challenge the election ... and he pursued this. He came up with NOTHING to support his baseless lies. He lost the election and today's violence which was flamed by Trump and his supporters, is nothing to do with the media - it's all about Trump. Trump is, was and always will be Trump first and the good of the country is a distant thought from his mind, ever and always.

There was once a time where I would say, in response to crap posted online or in the media; nah, that's bull that would never happen or didn't happen, come on, that won't happen . . . but today, you never know. Crazy rules the roost anymore. Should I be surprised that I am no longer surprised? What was an insane thought yesterday is perfectly legit today.

What do I believe in, where are my heroes?? Where is my creed, my rock, my firm belief in institutions, and men and women being led by principle at?

I spent my childhood being reared by strong bluecollar Roman Catholic democrats and we became Reganites, Regan Democrats. Into my adulthood I read National Review, listened to Rush Limbaugh, became a young republican, cheered on the elder Bush. I was a conservative with a some libertarian leanings as I got older. It was a guilty pleasure of mine, maybe a bit foreshadowing, of being a huge West Wing fan. Though Bartlett was just a fictitious character, he was the president I wanted in real life, and yet, instead we had Clinton. And then Trump.....

Now, I don't know what to believe. My heroes are fictitious, my upbringing null and void. AOC makes more sense to me than those who were championed to carry on the Reagan banner. And I think her ideas are all wrong....lol but maybe her heart is in the right place.

I went in to Walmart today and I am standing next to a young girl (more than likely a military spouse as I live and work on a USMC base here) and she had two babies in her cart. And I felt rotten. I felt like a failure, not as a human being, rather as an American. What kind of world will those children have?

So, the ornery folks on the left get mad and burn and loot business. The ornery folks on the right grab guns and storm capitol buildings. I am told by our media that one group is honorable if misguided, the other, dishonorable and totally misguided. Maybe we're all misguided. It sure does seem so. No one is being listened to unless you get violent.

From here on out, I think I will vote, the way I voted this year . . . vote every incumbent out. From the Capitol, to the Statehouses, to Town Hall. Things need to change. But I am skeptical that will work.

Twitter took the new step of deleting Trump's tweets from today, because they incite violence.

Says she was shot by the capital police.

She shouldn't have been there.

I wish police would've shot "protesters" in Portland, and other places, before they looted and burned.

Please. If it had been people of color attacking the Capitol there would have been multiple people killed.

And wishing people would have been shot? Wow.

You really need to stop. Biden isn't a socialist and you know it. Maybe the channel you're watching isn't telling you what was said this morning at the rally they held right before this all broke out.

Claiming that elections in “Third World countries” are “more honest,” Trump framed his own efforts to invalidate the democratic process as a populist crusade.

“We will not let them silence your voices,” he said. “We’re not going to let it happen.”

Trump has said for days it would be "a wild protest".

There were others but it gets tiresome trying to lead the blind. THEY are who are responsible for what went on today.

For years I've heard you carry on about personal responsibility. Now that the actual fabric of our nation is at stake and you have the opportunity to stand up and do just that, you are abandoning your own responsibility to do so.

The only media that holds any responsibility for this is the portion of the media that has been throwing red meat to Trump supporters. Shame on you.

I am sorry to hear that you don't want to hold the most powerful man in the world accountable for his fanning these flames and the actions, words and tweets he is responsible for that lead to today.

So much for the party of personal responsibility. They abandoned every principal they used to stand for all for Trump.

The other side believes we've already entered a situation where our democracy is gone and the whole nation will never accept an election again.

So, I ask how those would propose to address the illigitimacies of the voting process and counting process seen on or after Nov 3rd 2020, if those are not addressed,
We already are there, where 100 million Americans will never accept an election again.

Get Help.

FIRST, Only 73 million voted for or supported Trump, NOT 100 Million.

Second, 81 million voted for Biden.

Third, do the math... Trump lost.

The problem is that there isn't even a shred of credible evidence to support continuing that line of thinking. If there was, we would've heard about it via the investigations and countless lawsuits. Trump's lawyer teams have had ample opportunity to show we should stop and take a longer look at this. They have failed countless times.

Then, Trump appealed to his toady's Pence and McConnel, and even they wouldn't abandon their sworn oaths/duties. With nobody/few left to continue the coup, he incited a riot to interfere with the process of a legitimate election.


I would say that it's your right to continue to believe whatever you want despite how extremely at odds it is with the facts and reality, but the truth is that that right to belief has interfered with the execution of the Constitution and presents a very real threat to our democracy. The disappointment and hurt feelings of an extremist group have stopped our election process.

Well to be fair - when you live in La La Land he is entitled to make up any numbers he likes. Facts and Reality don't live there.

I forgot to add... I was all for doing investigations and digging into any worry of impropriety. If an allegation is made then we should investigate. I have no problem with this at all.

But it quickly became apparent that there was no substance behind the allegation, and despite getting opportunities to do so, the Trump team either couldn't or made no attempt to substantiate their allegations.

We have the process we have... the process worked... the process was challenged and that challenge failed.
