Awe. We know people like yourself think that trying to overrun our government is okay and all. We know you think crimes against democracy are a fine thing to commit. We know just how you feel. Overturning an election in which you found no evidence of wide spread voter fraud and installing a dictatorship in America seems like just another day at the office for you.
I know you're hurting right now. I know you not only lost The White House, but the senate and the Democrats hold a majority in the House of representatives too. You lost every path you had at obstructionism. Mitch is now relegated to only being a turtle.
We pray that in time you can heal and overcome this gigantic feeling of loss you hold in your heart. God Bless America.

The other side of that pit, is the dems did the pretty much same thing in 2016. Claiming Russia russia russia, insisting on day one they would impeach, etc etc etc.

Only Russia was proven to have interfered in our election. And if you actually look at that phone all with Ukraine, it did deserve looking into.
Every first hand witness was barred from testifying by Trump claiming executive privilege. Let's stop pretending there wasn't cause for it.
And since I'm going to be frankly honest with you here, Russia's goal was to cause America not to trust their election process to undermine democracy. In 2020 they had Trump to do that job for them. We saw just how well Russia's plan to undermine our election process and create upheaval worked after Trump pulled it off.

It's not actually a debate. National security has proven that Russia was involved in our 2016 elections. That's factual. Their determination was that it was to destabilize our people's trust in the democratic process of our elections. Those things are not my opinions or my personal thoughts on the topic.
Trump has been claiming that if he lost the election it was rigged. That there was wide spread voter fraud. In the 2020 election he claims the election was stolen. Nothing could destabilize our citizens faith in our election process any more than that. He claimed the exact same thing in 2016. As a matter of fact, he couldn't even accept that he lost the popular vote in 2016 and opened an investigation concerning voter fraud after the 2016 election. Of course, just like this time, no actual evidence was found to support his claims. These are also facts, not my opinion.
So the facts are, according to national security officials, is that Putin wanted to undermine Americans faith in our electoral process. To further divide us. The fact is also that Trump has accomplished the very same goals Putin set out to accomplish. To disagree with this isn't to disagree with me, it's to disagree with our national security experts as well as factual evidence that is not really worthy of debate.
Now I'm going to trust the findings of our national security officials who have information I would have no way of gathering. I guess you can ignore that if you so choose.

That's all well and good. I need to be by myself. I'll be out of here. Too much stress in my life. Lost another friend yesterday, younger than me. Another friend with heart issues is positive. If stress is a killer, I don't know why I'm still alive.
Too many other issues going on right now. Sorry.

Although GOP leadership in the senate has enabled trumplandia and his supporters.. when I watch a trump supporter actively and verbally supporting trump moving forward. I’ll see a traitor of the United States and a potential terrorist.

https://www.baltimoresun.com/politics/bs...byom-story.htmlSelected excerpts Click the link for full details Hogan said federal defense officials repeatedly turned down the state’s initial offers to send Maryland National Guard troops to the District of Columbia over the course of 90 minutes Wednesday Before that authorization came, Hogan said, U.S. Rep. Steny Hoyer, the House majority leader, called him and said U.S. Capitol Police were overwhelmed and that there was no federal law enforcement presence. Hoyer told him congressional leaders were “pleading” for the governor to send in the Maryland National Guard and seemed baffled to hear permission was being denied, Hogan said.

I believe if you look into that further you will find that title very misleading. From every reliable source I could find, it wasn't that they were actually being turned down or denied, but rather they couldn't reach anyone to give them the authority to move in.
From my understanding they repeatedly tried to call according to the chain of command and couldn't reach anyone. Finally, an hour and a half later, someone called them and requested they come.

Gov Hogan explained it well.
The order has to come from the Department of Defense.
Trump replaced the head of the DoD just after the election.
Hogan had MD National Guard mobilized and ready.
The call came from the Army general not the head of the DoD. Hogan said it was not the right person, but close enough as he was well aware of the crap show that was going on.
Coincidence or not, it was one of the new Trump cronies that would not make the call.
There was about an hour and a half between the Hoyer call and the call from the Army general.
Things did get wild.

the people who came into the capital building had access to papers, computers, e-mails and phones. One senator is reporting that his laptop was stolen.

The only good thing about it is that the rioters probably don't know what they have in their possession really is.
It's a memento from the day they stormed the capital.

I don't know about antifa.
I feel the democrats are the ones that don't support democracy or the constitution and the evidence is everywhere.
The Democrats, if they hated "Make America Great"?
They hate the liberty and freedom, they hate the applichian mountains, they hate the Rockey Mountains,
The democrats hate the grand canyon. The democrats hate the blue skys, and they hate amber waves of grain.
Anyone who hates "Make America Great" hates the billions of stories of success that occurred since this country was founded.
The Democrats, not only ignored the document, the paper writings called the Constitution of the USA They actively work courts and actions to subvert it, not just once but over many years.
The democrats have no claim to democracy and the constitution, except in some bizarro world of false definitions of words, and lies, which even they're hero Bill Clinton claimed, 30 years ago that he did not have blah blah blah Lewinski,
(They took his Law license away, (Clinton)
Nobody really supports President Trump. They just abhor the democrats
Making America Great is not about supporting Trump It is about the disgusting nature of the democrats line of destruction.
the Democrats, remain committed to the destruction of the United States, top to bottom,
You say, if you don't support democracy and the constitution leave the country, What are any democrats still IN this country for then anyway. or, as one so consisely puts it. LeadTheWay!

Much has been made about the lack of force shown by the government to protect the building, many have compared it to the force used against BLM protesters...
I believe there is enough video evidence available now that shows that, not only did Capitol Hill Police put up minimal resistance, they actually moved barricades, opened doors, and invited the protesters in... there is video of police taking selfies with protesters inside the Capitol. I don't think this accommodation has anything to do with "white privilege"...
I understand that there are reports of 4 or 5 people being killed including one officer so maybe not everybody was up to speed on the plan.. but I'm becoming more and more convinced that this was less of an insurrection and more of a staged event to achieve a different goal... I just can't figure out who allowed it to be staged and what that goal might be....
I mean, they had taken control of the Capitol building, they had every opportunity to occupy it until their demands were met, they had every opportunity to drag this out and make everybody significantly more uncomfortable... but they ran around, took some photos, grabbed a few souvenirs, and went home. Who does that?
Something is very very wrong with the way this whole thing played out.. I may never fully get the answers as to what actually happened here, but it really doesn't seem like what happened, is what we are being told happened.

There are certainly a whole lot of things going on. Add in the 1.5 hour gap between the Maryland governor's call and the authorization of the national guard.
Per my statement's in the Mike Pence thread, I don't want to speculate as to anything, especially at this point.
But there needs to be answers, and the puzzle needs to be put together regarding some of the anomalies.
We may never get there, though.

That's often times what happens when people dismiss things like white privilege and that law enforcement tends to align itself with Trump. The things that seem so obvious tend to be made far more complicated.

The things that seem so obvious tend to be made far more complicated. I know cops at the Capitol, I know cops at the Pentagon.. I understand that not using rubber bullets or tear gas right away could be explained by white privilege.. but moving barricades, opening doors, taking selfies and basically abandoning their job is not something I could imagine any of them doing, regardless of whether they believe in the cause. It looked far too orchestrated and well-coordinated..

We can no longer accept that anyone who espouses White Heritage can only be given the scarlet letter of White supremacist
unless we apply equality and claim that anyone who would make such a claim that there exists out of thin air some "white privelage" must also be the same have to wear the scarlet letter of black supremacist.
Because "white privelae" has to be an unusable word, a very offensive word and concept, of the most vile kind
Use of the words "white privelage" as an insult, taking a shot, to De Humanize white People, is a most awful racial slur, and we have to start calling it for what it is, and if the tables were reversed
Call for apologies from all parties who'd use it.

I have no problem that you have a different perspective on this but let me give you mine.
When you see one group of people as being a dangerous threat your health and safety, when you see that group as being a threat to your way of life, human nature dictates you will treat that group of people very differently than you treat a group of people you consider like minded.
Not saying who is right or who is wrong here. I just feel there are two strong possibilities in play on what transpired.

Who does that? I do not think there was a real plan. It just turned into mayhem. These were some real dimwits. The one time you can walk into any building with a mask and your face completely covered and they go storming in smiling for the camera, streaming live on FB so they are easily identified and arrested tells me this wasn't really well thought out. They weren't really ready to put it all on the line for the cause. I've watched the video when that girl gets shot in the neck and most everyone around there became hysterical at the first sight of blood. This about sums it up for the most part...

This could be a longer post but I think a couple of points need to be made.
Politics is now a team sport, it should not be that way but it is.
People have been successfully divided into team red and team blue.
The people who rioted are wearing the colors of team red..
It is an identity... just like the orange/brown jersey that I wear on Sunday. Those black and yellow jerseys are the sign of the enemy.
The rhetoric of the past makes things more difficult. I suspect that if you actually asked people if they understood the basic reasoning behind team red or team blue they would not be in full alignment with the political parties.
Pick a hot topic, like social security. I doubt if removing social security as a government plan ala Paul Ryan would be seen as a good thing.
Of course team blue is as fault as well. Think "clinging to guns and religion" or "deplorables"... Those are direct shots at someones identity. Of course there is Mitt with the 47 percent comment as well.
Add a person like Trump who can manipulate, it does not matter Team Red all the way, and logic or facts be damned. Trump "branded" the "Team Red" with MAGA hats and it took off from there. Team Blue does not have colors as of yet.
I watched most of the Trump speech of January 6 before the riot. It was a rehash of all his greatest hits against the enemy team blue. It was a show for entertainment purposes that had its intended result.

For two reasons. I think for myself and the media wouldn't listen to me anyway.
Here's the problem you're having. You seem to be confusing the difference between white heritage, white supremacy and white privilege. Once you decide to look into what the differences are, get back to me. Just a hint, they are three different things.

I really have issues with the concept of white privilege. I think a more accurate term is economic privilege. I get it, but it is more complex than just white.

To some degree we're not far off from feeling the same way. To much consternation from those who see it much differently than myself, I too have connected it more to poverty as well as race. But after looking into it more, I do believe race is a much bigger issue in it all and I'll explain to you why I have come to that conclusion.
As a white male, I can go to almost anywhere I choose and not be seen as "someone who doesn't belong here". As a white male when I'm pulled over, the odds are greatly in my favor according to every statistic, that I am far less likely to have a gun pulled on me. As a white male, when I go into a mall or clothing store, I'm far less likely to have an undercover security guard watching me as though I'm a suspect to shoplift. If I'm walking home from the convenient store after midnight, I don't worry about a confrontation with the police.
There are many things in our society that I can take for granted that people of color can not. I'm not generally seen as dangerous or a suspect due to the color of my skin. Because no matter who you are, out in public, unless you are wearing the raggiest of clothing, nobody can actually tell how poor you are. I've seen wealthy people dress quite modestly. I've seen much poorer people dress fairly well.
What they can tell is the color of my skin. And because of my color I am treated differently in many cases than those who are not my color. I know many white people will argue that point until the day they die. One thing you can bet on, you won't find many of people of color who will argue that point. They live with that experience.

As I said, I get it, but that only goes so far.
If you have ever been concerned about getting a job because you are not a minority, female or other identified group of people, you can appreciate where I am coming from. That cuts both ways.
I was taught at a young age not to go out into public in improper clothes. Standards have changed and it is more difficult today than before. But yes it does happen.
