Me, I will make a pot of taco soup.

At this point I haven't decided on just 3 lbs of ground beef, sirloin steak I would cube up, or a combination of the two.

How about you?

Parmesan Garlic Buffalo Wings

Ingredients
4 lb
chicken wings - bake, deep fry, grill
SAUCE
1 stick
butter
1/4 - 1/2 c
or to taste - grated, parmesan cheese
1/2 - 3/4 c
or to taste - franks red hot sauce
6 large clove
garlic, minced or grated
1 Tbsp
honey - optional

Welp it's a special occasion.
On Christmas someone gave me some crazy crappy cookies, (which I ate and loved), that they thought I might like, but I didn't prefer, because, the reason they were crazy and crappy was they put all these crazy extra things on or in the cookies.
Cookies with hersheys kisses added on top, (um, no!, delicious yes, but No!, I don't like things, I don't like things in my things,) it's why I still have not had more than 1 and a half DQ blizzards in my lifetime and never plan to eat one again.

But, of all the pretzels, nuts, and fudge, and caramel they so, meticulously, and lovingly, slaved to add to these cookies they gave me, I shortly realized, that my absolute favorite thing in this delicious, yet crazy yucky cookie box, were the pretzels by themselves,
pick the cookies apart to get the pretzel by itself, real salty, and the most delicious.

So. Being that the Super Bowl is a special occasion, I plan to for maybe 2 times all year, get a steady supply of salty, pretzels, a whole family size bag, and eat it in one setting,
among other things, wings, pizza, whatever, of course.

(Very unhealthy, and borderline obscene but screw it!, And,
Do know that the pretzels are still at the store, because they'd never last 36 hours until kickoff, because if I decide I'm just going to eat the whole thing, then, gloves are off.)

Smoking some chicken wings. It’s just me and my girlfriend. She’s vegan. So I’ll be eating a lot of chicken wings... which I’m fine with.

It'll be just me and my blushing bride of years 37 years watching the game.....

No doubt 3 of the 4 below. If 3, we'll drop the crackers/cheese chunks.

"Remake".....canned whole water chestnuts wrapped in bacon with a toothpick thru to hold them together. Sprinkle with soy sauce. Broil in the oven till bacon is cooked and/or to your liking.

20-ish "Shrimp cocktail"..... Fresh shrimp and a self made cocktail sauce (ketchup, jarred horseradish(to our liking) and a dash or 5 of soy sauce). We both like it a tiny bit warmer than middle of the road heat so......

"Deep fried Wings".....She bought fresh wings today. Most prob "Open Pit BBQ Sauce". Whatever is open in the fridge.

Perhaps some cubed cheese chunks and crackers. If so,, saltines for me. Ritz for her.

I’ve taken up cooking as a hobby as I’ve gotten older. I love every aspect of it - going to different groceries; cooking a variety of foods using a variety of different methods. Lately I’ve been cooking in a finger-food buffet style. I’ll keep it the same for the Sb. I like using the disposable aluminum trays.1
Nachos with cheese and salsa.
Wings fried 2X and 1/2 of them bbq other 1/2 garlic parm
Soft pretzels- -slap my hand I buy these frozen. Add cheese to dip them in.
Mozzarella Sticks - frozen again.
Big pizza to fill us up.

Normally Chili would be in order with some Dawgs.

My wife has been doing a new Chili that includes Eggplant in the mix...not bad and healthier. Of course the Dogs have sodium so just getting away with 2. BUT...

In this case of SB - Got to go to a Wake not that close to me. The Funeral Hall...the family is like my Brothers and Sisters as we are close.

Won't stay too long. So on the way home we are using some Applebees Gift Cards. We = me and my wife. Not sure what I will get. If I'm going to cheat with going out for dinner (picking up and taking home) I'd rather have some Popeyes Wings and stuff.

Any suggestions from Applebees? Never eaten there. Well I think once and got a steak. I don't want to do that only cause I got some awesome Steaks Rib Eye waiting for me to cook someday soon. smile

I like water chestnuts wrapped in bacon. I haven't had them in ages...now you have me thinking I might need to go grab a few cans and a package of bacon.

Chili and cornbread sounds good.

As for bourbon, I haven't had any alcohol since August. I'll just swig down a few O'Douls to go with the taco soup.

It does sound good, but I'll just keep on doing what I am doing. I suppose I have had more than a mans fair share of bourbon over the last 50 years. The memories are good enough.

We have a Appleby's close by, but don't eat there very often.

Mostly pub fare. A burger is a burger is a burger, right? I did have some sort of Asian w/chicken salad that was pretty darn good. I guess they might still have it on the menu. I suppose that would be the stand out item for me.

I was going to fire up the smoker, but my son and future daughter in law want us over there because she works today and wants to eat before she goes in at 3pm. He said they're taking care of all the food and it's a surprise, so I have no idea what we're in for.

We usually do a pretty big spread but then we usually have a small gathering. This year it will just be my wife and myself so we decided to keep it very simple and eat something ordered in. At the same time we wanted to keep it something that would be considered football food.

As such we've decided to order Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket subs from Firehouse Subs and their potato soup. It's a little cold here, high upper 30's. I know, not cold for Ohio but it is chiller than it has been here for the most part. They have chili and I may switch that out rather than the potato soup.

Hopefully things will be back to normal next year.


Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I’m at a hotel. I’m surrounded by some pretty good restaurants. I’m still trying to decide where I want delivery from. I was going to order some wings and an appetizer from a good place here, but there is a really good Japanese restaurant I’m now leaning toward getting apps from. Hard telling. I’ll probably end up ordering Indian. Haha

doing some work on the computer upstairs and I can smell the wife and kids working on the food already.

Going to get some firewood, take the dog thru the trails for a walk and put in some time with my son on the backyard hockey rink we built.

as for the game-we are making homemade chicken nuggets-the kids make up their own sauces-my son normally a hot sauce and my daughter a chick fil a sauce.

baked beans (my wife makes awesome beans and I was in the mood for them)

homemade soft pretzels
chips with a olive hummus and a queso dipping sauce
homemade cinnamon rolls for a desert-if I have a couple beers, this may be my breakfast tomorrow.

Indian food is incredible. I make a big deal about it because I had never tried Indian food until I was in my late ‘30’s. Growing up, I thought Chinese food was as exotic as I would ever have. But there are multiple Indian take outs and buffets in the ‘burbs outside of Cleveland. Naan bread, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Jasmine rIce. - Incredible. Same goes for Lebanese food.

A matter of taste I suppose. I like it OK, but I am not going to go out of my way.

Here at Chez Clemdawg, we are all about the Mediterranean grub. Khafta, Hummus, Tabbouleh, Kibbe, Tzatziki... it's all great, with tons of flavor- and you can eat a dumptruck load of it without feeling sloppyfat and on death's door! We wrap them in pitas with all the trimmings, and eat them like hot dogs. DamDamDaaaammm...

One of these folks should try to get a FirstEnergy vendor's spot. The moment one person shares a bite of this food with another person... this food vendor would take off like a fireworks factory sitting on a lava flow.

Khafta sliders.
Money.
St0000pit money.

I like Italian. Italian is like Mexican and Chinese, it's mostly generic these days. If you have eaten at one, you have pretty much eaten at them all. That isn't to say some aren't better than others, but in my experience that usually has more to do with ambiance rather than the plate of food.

Understand that is a broad brush statement. No doubt there is a difference. I just don't see it as big enough to really tell much of a difference.

I guess if I had to pick one type of food style, I like classic French. I like the food and I like the dining experience. You just can't find those in a jar, can, or frozen dinner.

Seafood is another. I love a good oyster bar.

You got that right. I love that place, they absolutely deserve the mention! My brother in law is Lebanese and owns his own Mediterranian restaraunt. Even he will hit up The Beirut occasionally to get a fix of some real home cooking.

Italian is generally only "real" and good from New York to New England (specifically RI and Mass). All other places are pretend Italian, although oddly the best Chicken Parm I ever had was at a place in Raleigh, NC called Tiramisu.

I don’t miss Toledo often, but Beirut is amazing! Also Mancy’s, for the money one of the best steakhouses I’ve eaten at and I’ve been to many of the best in the country.

weather was bad so we did not leave the house.
Ended up cooking those Rib Eye Steaks with a Baked Potato. Had some nice big Shrimp for Apps. Made my own cocktail sauce.

Ketchup, HorseRadish, Lemon Juice and Tobbasco Sauce. Excellent but maybe a touch too much Tobasco sauce but perfect for my liking. Enjoyed!

With the cold spell, a hearty soup was the menu. I made Chicken Tortilla in the stock pot. It was awesome (just going to pat myself on the back here). It was only my second time making it, but I killed it, and I definitely have some room for improvement.


There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

That is the beauty of soup. It's hard to screw it up. The bad part is sometimes its hard to replicate as you(I) don't always remember exactly what all I put in the thing..

I don't know if that is true. Italians settled all over the country. All of them didn't stay in New York. When growing up, many of my friends had names ending in a vowel and grandmothers living in house who I never heard speak English except to say hello or good-by.

I will agree there are more authentic Italian restaurants in that area. When I say authentic, I am not talking about the Olive Garden over by any mall in the country.

A food I didn't mention is Cuban. It's wonderful.

I say artist, but I know what you mean.

To me, a recipe is a guide. Sometimes I follow it, sometimes I add my own flair.

It's why I don't like to bake. Those are all formulas that have to be followed if you want the pastry to even come close. You can't tinker with that.
