Glad the economy is recovering. Jobs report just dropped, something like 950k jobs added. Probably will be revised to about 890-900k, but that’s still great news.

Regardless of the bickering, I don’t even care that things got slightly more expensive. Atleast people got some pay increases. If the price of my chipotle burrito goes up a dollar, or some groceries go up a few bucks, oh well. At least it’s going to people who can actually afford to pay some bills. Hope we keep it going, and hope Biden can get this infrastructure deal done so we can really take off.

Per my understanding, that it an inaccurate representation.

I have talked with several landlords and while there is some paperwork involved, it is pretty easy to get rent reimnursement from the government paid right to the landlord.

They would rather save that extra dollar and let people work for nothing. Murica!

Maybe arch can "school them" on how gas prices have nothing to do with who is president since he claims that's his specialty. But I'm pretty sure he only does that to people he politically disagrees with.

U.S. 2021 crude output to decline less than previously forecast, EIA says

https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/...eia-2021-07-07/

Hopefully you can wrap your mind around the fact that when there is an increase in demand and a cut in production, prices go up.

It's that wonderful supply side economics you support so strongly in action. But as per usual you're looking for a democrat to blame.

Gas prices are manipulated by oil companies not presidents.

They adjust all the time to a world market of supply and demand.

Covid prices fell. There was supply high. Demand low.

That is how that works.

That's weird, I remember everyone blaming Trump for high gas prices in the summer of '18. I guess only republican presidents are responsible. rofl

Biden was taking credit for saving us 16 cents on a 4th of july barbeque. He gets to take the good with the bad. I'm just giving credit where it's due.

Cool. Just a question. If landlords are getting their money, why is there a lot of talk about evictions?

The funds are getting into the hands of the landlord fairly easy but not to the renters. Their funds are being held back by local government directing funds how they wish and a lack of a decent paying job and not enough hours worked to support even themselves let alone a family of 3 or more. Landlords want them out asap so they can raise the rent with new tenants. It adds up.

I don't know about the lockdown part, but on point about gas prices, I agree. The largest part of it is supply and demand.

However some of it is lack of workers cause a supply problem, how much, I couldn't say, and some of it is inflation, but all of that only accounts for some, so it isn't all on President Biden. Only a smallish percentage.

I remember when President George W was blamed for gas prices, him and his Texas oil buddies. I explained it back then....I am heart warmed some took that advice and now understand how it works..not saying you were one who needed to be educated. I don't think you were on the board then, or at least a active member.

I always roll my eyes when I see a president of either party get blamed for gas prices.

I think it almost always boils down to displaced anger.

The Biden/Harris administration won’t be faced with another attempt to appeal Obamacare. But I’m sure the Republicans can waste plenty of time on stalling other legislation like the infrastructure bill and other humanitarian issues during a pandemic in a lame attempt to make this administration look bad.

It adds up if you look at what's really going on. For some reason many states have a lot of money that were allocated to them for rent relief they have thus far reused to hand over.

You see, I'm one who not only feels for the tenants, but the landlords as well. So many of you try and say to leave everything up to the states because they do a better job than the federal government. But the fact is in both cases they generally do a terrible job.

If there were an efficient system in place to disperse these funds to the landlords in many states it would help ease the eviction situation....

The eviction moratorium is about to end, yet federal relief funds largely remain unspent

I learned a great deal about how it all worked back then when Bush was president. Thanks to people such as yourself and DC. People willing to discuss a topic. As for your comment about the lack of employees to distribute gas to the stations, there's also another key component right now.

American oil producers have cut back on production from pre covid levels. The way it's being phrased is hilarious but obvious as to what they meam. “I do believe that most companies have committed to value growth, rather than production growth,” In other words making a much higher profit margin with a lower production......

As of July 9th American oil producers are producing about 2 million barrels less a day than before the pandemic.

I blame a big part of high gas prices on Obama. Obama made it legal to export oil, this was a stupid ass move for America especially while we were still importing part of our oil from the middle east. If that oil was only for American use, it would drive down prices IMHO.

It's about creating more government dependency. People have been getting free money from the government for the last 18 months. Yet it never occurred to them to pay their rent with that money. Now we see protests saying "cancel rent". People are expecting the government to pay their way in life. Democrats will happily oblige because making people dependent on the government gives democrats more power and more control.

Actually the money has been there all along and but a lot of it has not been distributed by the states.

Landlords have mortgages to pay, property taxes, property maintenance and insurance to pay. That tax money helps fund schools, the police, fire departments and so much more.

You do realize many of the programs you blame the Democrats for were programs that began under the Trump administration last year, right? So you may wish to blame those who are actually responsible for those programs rather than the people who inherited them. wink

But that wouldn't be as convenient for you now would it?

Biden embarrassing those attending the 'Ground Zero' ceremony.

Biden Morphed Into 'Old Man Yelling at Clouds' During Ground Zero Remembrance

Joe Biden attended the 9/11 memorial on the 20th anniversary of the attack at Ground Zero this morning with his wife, Jill, the Clintons, and the Obamas.

This is a day of great remembrance, the marking of a horrible attack on American soil that took so many lives and led us into a war for 20 years to ferret out the terrorists behind it. A war that ended with Joe Biden creating a debacle — leaving Americans and Afghan allies behind, leaving behind a terrorist state that we are going to have to address at a later date.

But there was a picture of his visit there that had everyone talking. It wasn’t a contemplative picture during those solemn moments. It was an odd picture that clashed with the solemnity of the occasion, of him taking down his mask and yelling at someone.

It’s not clear who he was yelling at. But it is clear what he did, that he took down his mask in the midst of a crowd and yelled, obviating the alleged purpose of the mask. It’s something he’s done before, even taking down his mask to cough into his empty hand, and then placing his hands on a podium and putting his mask back up. It’s like he forgot the script that he’s supposed to be delivering on, when he does these things. And it tells us that someone really doesn’t believe in its worth when they do these things.

It’s a picture that completely sums up Biden in one shot: empty gestures and incoherence. Just a very bad place for Joe Biden to be, once again, Joe Biden.

You can see the look from Barack Obama — it’s as if he’s chastising him silently in his head, as though he can’t believe that he did it.

You can see the look from Jill Biden – she’s looking away as if to say, “Oh, no. Don’t involve me in this one.

No, I'm sure she would still lie to be somewhere else. Trump is still in the media, still garnering media attention on the right, still holding it out there he may run again in 2024. He's actually still having campaign type rallies and still saying stupid things that cause his followers to go into a frenzy. When he's in the past we will stop talking about it.

Sad thing is, Trump isn't president anymore. It's Biden. Has been for 8 months. Pres. elect for 10 months. Yet, you still talk about Trump, not Biden.

They don't want to talk about Trump anymore man. He's embarrassing to them, while Biden seems to be an easy target... like little girls who accidently get pregnant... or minorities who just want to live the same life as whites in America... or Kurds thinking America would never abandon them... easy targets and no loss felt by GOPers.
