Penalty on Forbes, inelligbile downfield, Forbes is in on 4th string?

Bam, somebody broke 4 tackles,
Awww preseason!!

Nobody wants to be out there he breaks 4 tackles he bounced around like remember pin ball games where the those contact rubber band bouncers

Natson makes a leaping drop double forearmed it.

Late to the party, but RB Kelly looks really good, but I doubt he makes the team.

Made a big case to make the team today.

Davion Davis Wr. (and I'm not saying that lightly)

and, D'Ernest Johnson early, and

Connor Davis as TE 4. and, Stanton again as better than Jordan Franks te,

then, Kicker McLaughlin.

and felton had 1st half returns Natson 2nd half, Natson with a drop in the 4th.
Robert Jackson with the initial penalty of a streak of penalties , and later a whack picked on by the refreees two penalties on one action both half the distance from the 2.

Hurt cause. Keenum with slow thrown balls.

Hodge with one negative 2 positives iirc.

Jordan Elliott, with a sack in the 4th quarter of preseason, Apparently he is alive, he didn't expire or just was in Nebraska or anything.

Curtis Weaver, makes a pressure looks winded, 4th quarter of preseason, frown

No 10 second runoff,... beacause, I mean it's new York and we're all biased. (said the refs)

No turnovers before the final play,

I think Davion Davis is a top 5 Wr on the team and I didn't yesterday!
At least I want to see more.

Pros and Cons of:

being nitpick-y and if they should try filing a formal league protest over the referee call where 2 penalties were called on one action, on the 2 point conversion.

It's the preseason so, scrub! it!
But! it's an unfortunate injustice so it should be highlighted.

And Felton would have had a touchdown catch if the ball was on target, 25 yards downfield, beating a corner looked like, iirc, in the 2nd quarter.

There are some fans on this board longterm. tell me if this statement is false because I don't think it is.

Demetric Felton, is further along, at this point in his career, than Travis Benjamin, or Taylor Gabriel were?
True or False.

Me too. Picked up the Channel 5 feed out of Cleveland. Paper here said and the NFL channel said 1 PM on Sunday, but when I went to NFL Channel, it was Tom bloody Brady and the Lions.

Just aggravating me. Give me regular season. Soon.

I liked Kelly when he played for the Vols. Looks like he is playing for a job, be it here or somewhere else. I'd like to see us keep him but not sure there is room. I suppose we could keep 4 backs with Chubb, Hunt, and Johnson being the others.

Note, for roster purposes I am counting Felton against the WR room as in the end, that is how he will deployed 95% of the time. As a runner he is pretty average IMO.

Elijah Lee looked like he was playing to stay. Very active.

Good to be back in my seats for first time since 2019 and to see Jim Donovan calling the game. Joe Thomas in the booth next to him.

LeCounte III has a nose for the ball. Didn't see much out of JOK. Looked like the Browns ran the same on the failed TD pass to Hollywood and then successfully ran it to Hodge.

Running game seemed to look good. Looked like they were trying to feature TE Franks to see what they have in him. Janovich to make the roster as an H-Back? Nice catch by DPJ on a ball thrown behind him.

You know what? Throw is a poor communicator and that's okay. He's trying and slowly getting better. BUT more than anything, he has every right to post his gobbledygook posts on an open forum. AND occasionally, he makes an outstanding point. Occasionally.

I absolutely loved the banter between Joe and Andrew during the game. It was like the Thomahawk show for a live game. I truly hope the powers that be make this a regular thing!!!

Back at home, Browns win week-long battle with Giants 17-13
Cleveland improves to 2-0 on the preseason.

By Chris Pokorny

https://www.dawgsbynature.com/2021/8/22/...th-giants-17-13

After two practices together, the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants wrapped up their week-long battle with a Sunday preseason match-up. In the end, the Browns held on for a 17-13 victory, improving to 2-0 this preseason with their backups.

I was at the game, thanks to a pair of free tickets I won at training camp from Cross Country Mortgage. My seats were in Section 322 (Standing Room Only), which was also billed as the “Cross Country Mortgage Landing.” I didn’t know what to expect from the area prior to the game, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was in the shade, with patio furniture and a nice little complimentary buffet. Below, you’ll see a video that includes a brief snapshot of the area we were at, as well as the final 48 seconds of the first half (which crazily ended up lasting over seven minutes, leading to no points).

As for the game itself, the Giants punted on their first possession, and then Cleveland went to work on offense with QB Case Keenum and company. The Browns were rolling, including runs of 14 and 18 yards by RB D’Ernest Johnson and a 12-yard end around by WR JoJo Natson. After getting into a goal-to-go situation, Keenum’s second down pass fell incomplete, and then he was sacked for no gain on third down to set up 4th-and-goal from the 7 yard line. Keenum found WR KhaDarel Hodge open to the left side for the score, giving the Browns a 7-0 lead.

The Giants responded with a lengthy drive of their own to close out the first quarter, with QB Mike Glennon leading the charge. RB Devontae Booker punched it in from one yard out to tie things up at 7-7

Keenum had the Browns driving on their next drive too, but on a 3rd-and-6 play from the 10 yard line, he was picked off in the end zone when targeting TE Jordan Franks. It was a really bad decision and throw, as you can see from this footage I shot:

In the third quarter, RB John Kelly hit paydirt from 5 yards out to make it a 14-7 game. Kelly had a big day with 9 rushes for 58 yards and 1 touchdown to go along with 1 catch for 21 yards.

Mid-way through the fourth quarter, QB Brian Lewerke got the Giants back in the game with an 8-yard touchdown pass to WR David Sills to make it a 14-13 game. Teams always aim to avoid ties in the preseason, so the Giants went for two. Their first attempt was an incomplete pass, but a facemask and pass interference penalty was called on the Browns. The retry put the ball at the half yard line, but Cleveland’s defense stoned the Giants’ running attempt

Cleveland got in range for a 49-yard field goal with just over two minutes to play, which K Chase McLaughlin drilled to make it a 17-13 game. It was up to the Browns’ defense to prevent a touchdown in order to seal the win. Cleveland had some chances to nail down the win, but the Giants kept extending it. The Giants ended up getting it to the 27 yard line with six seconds left for one crack at the end zone. Lewerke was in disarray and heaved the ball back across the field, looking for Sills, but a crowd of Browns defenders were there. S Richard LeCounte came down with the interception for the touchback.

Quick Hitters
QB Case Keenum: 9-of-12 for 74 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
QB Kyle Lauletta: 14-of-23 yards for 152 yards.
RB D’Ernest Johnson: 4 carries, 36 yards. 4 catches, 23 yards.
WR Davion Davis: 3 catches, 45 yards (4 targets).
WR KhaDarel Hodge: 2 catches, 21 yards (4 targets), 1 TD.
DT Malik McDowell: 1 tackle, 4 assists (5 combined). 1 sack.

And as a sweater myself, Joe needs to pay more attention to the color of his shirts. Some colors hide it better.

I know he is all fit and trim, but the day before a broadcast, maybe dehydrate a bit.

I turned on the NFL Network and they were showing the Titans at Bucs game. They were suppose to be showing the Browns game. This is the second time they did not show the Browns game and another game instead.
