WTF!!?? And people wonder why so many are disillusioned about following the Olympics.
as Oob mentioned, so this is fine, but somebody testing positive for weed - which isn't performance enhancing - just could not be tolerated.
what a message to send athletes. by the way, how many do overs is the committee gonna give Russia? they're always cheating.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
If there are super extenuating circumstances, then ok. But what I've read I don't see anything. I see a lot of hand-wringing and a little obfuscation by governing bodies that never hesitated to drop the hammer.
"I'll take your word at face value. I have never met you but I assume you have a face..lol"
Aerials - Ukranian athlete doesn't absorb enough of the landing, bounces off the snow and does another front flip off the landing. He gets deducted for not sticking the landing. He definitely had some style for turning that into another flip.
Short Track - Womens 1500m, Japan skater pulls ahead of the pack and ends up catching up with the pack, just short of lapping them. For half the race, first place skater was at the end of the pack.
Figure skating was depressing to watch. Kamila falls 4 times in her performance, falls to 4th place. That clears up the podium mess. You get Anna(ROC), Alexsandra(ROC), and Kaori(Japan) as your top 3. Kamila is sobbing over her bad performance, coach was scolding her. Alexsandra was mad about something and was refusing to go out for ceremony. Anna, who just won a gold medal, was sitting off by herself with no one to celebrate with.
Never would have guess this girl just won a gold medal:

It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!
USA Hockey fell short. Men were eliminated by Slovakia in a big upset and the women lost the gold medal game to Canada, in a game that seemed to really lack the intensity these two usually bring. Sorry I stayed up late to watch it last night.

That whole thing is just a mess... the silver medalist (who is 17) refusing to go out to get her medal and saying she's quitting the sport because she got second... and Kamila, who has been perfect for the last couple of years, suddenly falls four times? either the weight of the world finally crashed down on her (most likely) or the Russian committee told her to take a dive so they could more easily cover this mess up
