I can imagine an Olympic Opening ceremony in the City of Cleveland, when Cleveland hosts the Olympics! Pretty special. " Opening Ceremony.... In the CLE it's on "
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.
Haven't watched much of the Olympics since they added professional players ...
John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
That 15yo girl from the ROC, hitting those quads last night were the first ever by a female in an olympics, I tried counting her turns but she was twirling too fast, lol

Looks like she tested positive for a banned substance. That’s tough for a 15yo with all the talent in the world taking a banned substance. Guess the ROC really wanted a gold, that girls future be damned!

I hope that she truly needed that drug... she had an amazing performance... and at 15 I would feel awful if she ended up being on a performance enhancer...
I have no sympathy for an adult who dopes.... for a teenager I feel differently... feel bad for her if she was doping because of her parents, coach, or country leaders...

The drug detected, trimetazidine, is a metabolic agent that helps prevent angina attacks and treats vertigo, according to the European Union’s medicines agency. It is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency because it can help endurance and increase blood flow efficiency.
The skating was on, with no sound, male figure skaters. ( It feels ridiculous to type that.) 5!, all five stumbled or half stumbled on a jump, all 5 looked Asian, I wasn't paying attention, and don't know any of their scores. I just thought it interesting that none completed a routine without a noticeable half stumble on their landings, and they were in sequence.

The IOCs' racist micro aggression is not lost on me! The Olympic rings are Blue, Black, Red, then Yellow, and Green, (if read left to right, top to bottom like western countries.) Most European countries flags colors are: and Most African countries flags colors are: ...the 3 colors that appear last. Way to go IOC (The American message is starting to have an effect on me.)

Uhhh, the Olympic Flag was born in 1914. All African flags are younger:
It doesn't mention racism, or why, the ring colors are in that order. I stand by my original observation, the red, green and yellow rings are in the final 3 places. hmm. Easily changeable, and rotateable. Are they this order for every Olympics? Countries with Red, White and Blue flags (may include one with only blue and white), UK, USA, Liberia, Norway, Netherlands, Australia, Croatia, Finland, Yugoslavia, Iceland, Slovenia, France, Greece, and Paraguay, and Panama.
Countries with Red Green and Yellow (some +black)on their flags, Guayanna, Senegal, Cameroon, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, Congo, Rwanda. edit: add link https://olympics.com/ioc/olympic-rings

Shaun White finishes his last halfpipe competition in 4th.
Valentino from Australia was 10 months old when Shaun White won his first gold. Today, he got to complete with Shaun White
Then there's the Hirano brothers from Japan. One set a record for most high out of the halfpipe at 24' (on top of a 22' wall) The other is the first to land a triple cork and it gets him the gold.
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

Nobody Ski''ed Skated, snowboarded, figure skated, or jumped, in this Entire Olympics without stumbling or falling during their routine in about 25 things I've watched, do they ever land a move.

Snowboarding, or Racing Snowboards. Are they serious? There is more entertainment at a monster truck rally. Where did they hide the real sports, on Hulu? No wonder nobody watches the Olympics. They've tried to shove snowboards down our throats on network tv for 3 straight nights, Olympic Fail.

A thank you to Canada for sending us your bobsled pilot. USA takes gold/silver in monobob. I believe Germany had took gold in all the sliding events until this one. After watching luge and skeleton, bobsled feels slow.

"CAS officials heard six hours of testimony in a video conference that began after 8:30 p.m. local time Sunday in Beijing, and they continued their deliberations Monday. In their decision against suspension, they cited special protections for minors such as Valieva, the delay in reporting the test result and the risk of causing her “irreparable harm” by preventing her from competing.
The court noted that Valieva had not tested positive for banned substances while in Beijing and could still face disciplinary procedures over her earlier test result."
I don't really understand what's going on here. They also mention that IOC said something to the effect of they're not sure a doping infraction has occurred (despite there being a positive test).
But what it comes down to is that this is a pretty unprecedented ruling... and for that to happen you need to have a really good reason. I'm not seeing anything resembling that so far.
"I'll take your word at face value. I have never met you but I assume you have a face..lol"
The public reason I saw given by the Olympic commission is that she's a "protected person" due to being 15. So I guess anyone under 18 can do all the banned substances they desire and suffer no consequences.
The IOC's Decision to Let Kamila Valieva Compete, Explained
The legal process has been unusually complex because of Valieva's status as a minor, which gives her protections in the anti-doping rule book
