Because NATO is a group. Actions would be taken as NATO, not the United states. It's not my fault you don't understand how even the possible hint of oil disruption creates panic and increased prices. Why in the world would you say someone debating you on a message board is a "tough guy"? That makes no sense unless you are concerned about your own estrogen levels.

Overall I thought it was a pretty decent speech, at least the content. Biden is NOT a good speaker, at all.

I'm glad the republicans applauded and recognized the areas where they are in agreement instead of making asses of themselves and sitting on their hands, which both sides have done in the past.

Giving Biden credit for bringing the world together against Russia is an overstatement, it's like giving Reagan credit for bringing down the Soviet Union in the 80s.. I'm glad the world (governments and private sector) is working together on it, I'm sure Biden and our government has been a big part of it, so give credit where credit is due but to say "he did it" is a reach. I thought his comment about, when this is over the world will be stronger and Russia will be weaker was a very effective comment.

Economically I think he hit some points that democrats should have been making for a long time. Obama and past democrats have spoken about the economy in terms of punishing the wealthy through the tax code, I thought he did a good job of stating he wasn't out to punish anybody and that when the lower and middle class do well, the wealthy still do extremely well, when there is a more balanced tax code.

Releasing the oil reserves will create a positive blip on the radar but I don't see it having much of a lasting effect.

Then he started down his list of democrat talking points on affordable child care, climate, abortion, etc... either you agree with the dem position or you don't, I don't think there was a lot of new information there but they are things a dem President is almost obligated to work in, so... whatever.

The rebuttal from the governor of Iowa seemed more like a canned platform speech than an actual rebuttal. Typically the party puts people out there to give these rebuttals to elevate them in the national spotlight because they view them as potentially stepping up in the party. If that was the case, I was underwhelmed with the speech if this was a platform for her to become a serious presidential candidate in the near future.

Most Americans stand with Ukraine, they should, if you support Ukraine, one of the sacrifices you are going to have to make is paying more for gas for a while. Ukrainians are getting shelled, living in bunkers, fleeing to other countries, separated from their families... if paying more to fill your F250 is a big issue for you... too bad, deal with it.

If you wanna be honest, he did do more to help the world to come together in one year than Trump did in 4.. He was someone that other country leaders could speak with and understand had the worlds best interest at heart.. Unlike Trump who only had his pockets as his ONLY interest.

Another individual you can thank is Putin... His actions are such that the world (with a few exceptions) has come together to condemn him and his entire regime.

I really wish that we would bring Ukraine into NATO... That would stop Putin his tracks... That would give us the tools to defend Ukraine. I know there is a reason it's not already done, but I don't particularly understand or agree with it.

Putin attacked a Nuke in Ukraine,, That should be enough to cause the world to want to stop him by any means.

I would definitely say he has helped bring the NATO alliance much closer. Probably closer than they have been since their forming after WW2. But then this is the biggest threat since WW2 so the need was there to do so. I would also say Trump had weakened the alliance more than it had ever been since WW2.
