The problem with only protecting them until a certain age is that we really don't protect them from harm for their sake, but to make sure they can't be taken, harmed, and or used against POTUS as leverage. It doesn't matter how old you are for that, still family.

I think they should have a few protected campuses like Camp David spread around the country to keep family members at and protected. Renting posh hotels, and giving them free rein to roam wherever whenever regardless of costs is the issue. Can't make them prisoners, but we should have limits, IMO.

I think most of us understand the why part. Maybe it's the how? I also question how old should the child be? Hunter is a child no doubt, but no doubt he isn't a "child" if that makes sense. As a parent of adult children, I would less impacted or open to ransom of some sort now then I would have been if they were still school aged.

Perhaps I'm mistaken here, but yes, $10,00 in CASH is a reportable thing. Banks are required to report it.

$10,000 in check form is not, because it is traceable. I.e. I write you a check for $10,000, because I bought a car from you. As well, when it is traceable, if it caused red flags, perhaps there's a reason?

I don't know the exact amount anymore, but even a gift of ...used to be $10,000....might be 12 or more now, could only be done 1 time per year - even to relatives, unless tax was paid on any amount over that IRS limit, whatever it is now.

If Hunter Biden has done something wrong - investigate and prosecute.
If Hunter Biden has done something that remotely appears to be questionable - investigate fully and prosecute if justified.

I wish the same cry would sound out for every politician and member of politician's family members.

Too bad the last administration was unquestioned when appointing family to positions that they were unqualified for. Too bad Kushner never got the same treatment as Biden for his close links to the Saudi Princesses who boasted about Kushner being in his pocket.

Too bad politicians on the left and right never got held accountable for dumping stocks based on government intelligence about Covid thet they never repeated in public .. in fact they downplayed the threat of Covid while dumping their stocks and investing in companies like Zoom.

The list could go on and on. Too bad they aren't all held accountable and that so many only bang on the drum when their left or right leaning media sources spin one side of a story and give an entirely free pass to the other side.

Not to derail the thread, but your point on the egregiousness of the whole stock ownership thing is one of the most notoriously egregious examples of how openly corrupt a wide swath of our actual legislative politicians are, and nothing is seemingly done about it.

There's certainly enough smoke that it deserves an investigation. If he's guilty of any crimes I hope he has to pay for what he's done. I'm sure glad I didn't vote for Hunter Biden.

I was not aware of that. So, if you're selling your 10 year old truck for $11,000, I give you a check for that amount, and it get's flagged?

I mean, I can see and understand $10,000 in cash being deposited in the bank would raise a flag, ....

I had to sign off on every deposit of 10G or more for all the years I owned a restaurant. Checks, cash, any combination, over 10G.

If I deposited 8G in business checking and 5G in payroll checking, no need to sign off.
