CINCINNATI -- Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt is the latest name to leave the season opener with an injury.

Watt went down after hitting Joe Burrow on a last-minute drive in Week 1. After tackling Burrow, he stood up, walked off to the sideline holding his shoulder and met with trainers. They did not go into the medical tent but instead headed straight to the locker room.

Watt's injury comes after the Steelers suffered injuries to Levi Wallace, Mason Cole and Najee Harris.

The team has not announced the injury, but as he walked towards the sideline he said, "I tore my pec" to the trainers.

Before his injury, Watt recorded six tackles and a sack."

I read that Najee Harris was hurt too.

Expoensive win, for sure.

Tough week of injuries for that victory. Cincy looked a little out of sorts most of the game

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

That's because Burrow is not the guy everyone thinks he is.

And Brian Daboll is fat.

In regards to San Francisco, I predict that they’ll go back to Jimmy G at some point

What a gutsy call by Brian Daboll in his HC debut to go for two. Love it.

I have to put something out there that I’ve been thinking for a while: when Aaron Rodgers hangs up his cleats, the Packers are going to be a reborn garbage franchise.

I think Burrow is elite. He’s a generational QB. I think he just had a bad day. He started putting it together later in the game. That team and the HC seem hell bent on “Lucking” him though.

One thing about burrow IMO … if you take away his check down safety valve (Mixon usually) he has a tendency to force it

He had to today. They forced him to do everything on offense. They live and die by him, as seen today. He rose up after he admittedly flopped in the first half. His WRs did him no favors at time either (can’t remember who the guy was that missed the easy TD).

If you want to see how good he is, remember how the Bengals fared in 2020 after he went down. It feels like Andrew Luck 2.0 to me.

They even redid their offensive line. He was still under pressure. Sometimes he did it to himself but other times the playcalling set him up to be a tackling dummy.

The AFC South did all 3 other divisions a favor today in the AFC wild card race.
The Titans lost to an NFC team. (Giants)
The Jaguars lost to an NFC team. ( Redskins)
and the Colts and Texans tied each other.

So no team in the AFC south, in the race for the wild card spots, has more than I/2 a win.
Now, One team has to take their division title and thus the automatic playoff berth, but for the odds
The AFC South
did all the other I2 teams in the AFC's other 3 divisions, including the Browns' division, a favor for the week, by none of them getting a win.
(there that's football.)

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Some thoughts on today's games:

--Boswell and McPherson are two of the better kickers in the league. McPherson literally won games late in the season and in the playoffs w/clutch kicks. Boswell is elite. Cinci's long snapper got hurt and the snaps were awful.

--Cinci spent all that money on the OL and they were terrible. Again.

--Mahomes is going to go on a Scorched Earth tour. Trust me on that one.

--Herbert is elite. K. Mack had a huge game for Chargers and their dumb ass coach wasn't as dumb as nornal.

--How does SF lose to the Bears? The Jimmy G watch is on.

--Eagles/Lions game was pretty awesome......from what little I saw of it.

--Disappointing performance by Indy.

--Gutsy move by Dabol w/the NY Giants. I liked him when he was here. Most said he sucked.

--Watch out for Baltimore.

--Really sad to hear of TJ Watt's injury. I know it helps us, but he is one helluva player. The NFL is better if he is playing.

--Justin Jefferson is going to go off this year. Watch out for Minni.

--How did ATL blow that game?

It wasn't intended as an insult. I was trying to say I respect your opinion even though I disagree with it.

Besides, there's no football to talk here. I watch way too much football. I've seen nearly every Burrow snap. I don't understand people falling all over themselves for him. I also have zero interest in trying to change other people's opinions on it...or anything for that matter.

KC is my AFC pick this year. Agree with you about Mahomes.

Also agree on Baltimore. I believe Jackson goes scorched earth.

Herbert is elite. You could make the argument he and Allen are the two best QBs in the league.

Peace. I apologize if I misread your post.

That being said, if you look at the Bengals roster and coaching staff from 2019 to 2021, what would you say is the biggest difference? One might say Jamarr Chase, but I can never think of one time a WR was THE difference maker for a franchise. The closest argument to that was Anquan Boldin for the Ravens in 2012, IMO.

Burrow, IMO is elite, and Cincy is apparently hellbent on utilizing all their pent up poor karma to ensure someone of his caliber still won’t succeed.

I almost kind of want Jackson to go scorched earth, minus two games against us and without a super bowl just to further complicate the ravens leverage in contract negotiations. The last time they overpaid their QB, it set them back for a while.

I would pay Jackson. He's frigging good. Don't overthink it. If Balt can't afford it or if that type of contract goes against their "philosophy" that's not Cleveland's problem.

I would rather see Balt without Jackson than with him.

I don’t disagree with you.

I’d rather see them without Jackson on his rookie deal (including the option) than anything else which will obviously be the case.

Either they have to pay him and make some sacrifices to the other areas of the team that they’ve been able supplement him with, or they don’t pay him and don’t have him on the roster. In either scenario, I think it would be better than the current circumstance, right?

The only thing I don't want to see is them signing him for a reasonable amount.

Burrow has the head/brain you want in a QB. People also want to root for him because he's likeable.

Cinci is at least trying to keep him in 1 piece, finally.

I should said emphasis was on 'trying'.

They did something this off-season. Steelers in week 1 aren't the greatest gauge. They make lots of Olines look silly.

Cincy lost, and Pitts could barely pull out the win even with 5 picks. Maybe a fluke but both of those are good news for the Browns.
