Sometimes I just like a "pretty" song. This is one at the top of the list. John Denver was a great guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. When you can get up there with just you and your guitar and carry the song, you are the real deal. As with any of these vids, headphones work best.

Rolling Stones will release first studio album in 18 years, 'Hackney Diamonds'
The wait is over: The Rolling Stones will soon release new music.
On Monday, the band announced they are preparing to release their first album of original material in 18 years - since 2005's "A Bigger Bang."
Titled "Hackney Diamonds," the band will share details of the release at an event in East London's Hackney district on Wednesday, where Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will be interviewed live by "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon.
The event will be livestreamed exclusively on YouTube on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. BST, 9:30 a.m. EST and 6:30 a.m. PST.
"Hackney may be at the heart of Hackney Diamonds, but this is a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the world via YouTube," the Rolling Stones shared in a statement.
The announcement of "Hackney Diamonds" follows a cryptic teaser campaign, in which the band's iconic mouth and tongue logo was projected onto the faade of major landmarks in cities around the world, including New York, London and Paris.
The album is also the Stones' first since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.

Same song by GNT. This was filmed live about 13 miles from me - 6-7 weeks ago. It was a free concert because the year before they were going to do it but they all got covid and had to cancel. They said they'd do it, and, true to their words, they found time in their busy schedule of touring to do a free concert. (side note: when the concert was over, even though they were 'home', they had to get back to Nashville by morning, so they left immediately )

You see/hear the most interesting stuff when you watch people talk about Music.
Their passion, and the way they express that passion, is another form of Music for me. When I read Dawgs in these threads, I've noted that they take more time to submit their posts. They write with more detail. I can see their level of commitment in their word count. And word content. It's plain as day.
When I'm dining out, I eavesdrop on table conversations near me. I don't do it for content. I couldn't give a s# about the mundane details of strangers' everyday lives. It's like listening to a soap opera that you've never watched. No, I do it to hear the Music in their voices, as they interact, and tell their stories to each other. The spoken Human Voice is the most expressive, intuitive, natural musical instrument that has ever been created. It is beyond amazing. It's infinitely more engaging than even birdsong, which is by nature, highly 'musical,' but limited and mechanical by comparison. People talking to each other is the Music of your life.
I also enjoy the way all this plays out in the DT threads. This might be the only enduring thread that seems devoid of PP taint. That makes me smile.
Of all the positive things that have come my way from a life in Music, I think this is perhaps the most satisfying. People come together when Music is the common language.
The human voice as an instrument tells us so much. The diversity of sound comes to our ears and we respond to it.
The call of a walk off home run. Jim Donovan calling a Chubb run for a touchdown. The sound creates all that emotion.
The first time I heard Nat King Cole sing. Even as a kid I thought wow. How can someone sound so good? His voice was so smooth and perfect.
Then later in life I heard Billie Holiday. It made my skin react. Her voice penetrated. I could hear sadness, pain, and sometimes joy. She had this way to sing inside the music and still grab you like the words had claws.
In songs I have always liked the singer's voices that fit the music and lyrics. Leon Redbone comes to mind. Tom Waits as well.
Narrators like Peter Coyote and the voices used by Ken Burns in film documentaries. The voice of storytellers. How a good storyteller can captivate an audience.
The album will be out in a few months. When I listened to this song on headsets I appreciated it more. I had just got off the phone with her. She explained how the recording went down. She is a terrific gal. Hard worker. IMO her most recent recordings are really good. Song writing and vocals have all gotten better over time. She is focused and dedicated on all she does. She is a die hard Browns fan. I tell ya that. Has a Chubb jersey. Just sick about the injury.
We had moved from Atlanta to Reno. My son's catering business had Joe Bonamassa as a client. They were handling the tour. Jade was a backup singer. They had a show in Reno and my son brought Jade over to our house. His sister, her husband, and my two grandsons were living there.
Immediately we hit it off. It was like we had known each other for years. In less than a year they were married. Since that time we have had a few chances to really spend some quality time together. We have become very close. Jade and my daughter are the same age. They have really become sisters. Jade is such a high quality person. Her and I can talk for hours on any topic. She is a joy to be around. As a parent you never know if you will get along with the spouses of your kids. I am thrilled my son found her.
