The revelations that have come into the light about FOX news are quite revealing. Actually just confirming what many of us already knew. But when it comes to discussing pending litigation I think that's a pretty standard thing across the board not to make any public statements about the case. Unless of course you're trump who lacks the total inability to stop himself.
It's normal in the sense that they shouldn't discuss the details. But reporting what happened should be fine.
For instance:
Admitting there is a lawsuit pending Status of the lawsuit What was said in depositions such as Murdoch admitting Fox lied
If they lose the suit, I bet they have a spin on why they lost (left wing Elite Judges etc)
But unless forced to, they will not admit to the lies on their own air waves....
Saw a funny meme on Facebook the other day.,
FOX Host: We lied to you
FOX Viewer: NO YOU DIDN'T
Funny stuff but the damage they caused is done now.

At some point in history America had free and fair elections and it had a constitution.
It seems as though you missed it. America still does have free and fair elections. Well at least in states that don't make it harder to vote. And we still have the constitution. You've just been watching too much Carlson and reading too much Storm Front.

Maybe that wasn't a noose for Pence - maybe they were XXXL banana hangers like the ones shown here? https://www.amazon.com/Banana-Holder-Kitchen-Countertop-Homeries/dp/B09C93LW4D?th=1 Maybe they weren't chanting "Hang Mike Pence" - maybe it was "Stand Mike Pence" and they wanted to give him an ovation? Maybe it wasn't tear gas - maybe it was some cologne? Maybe the police weren't beaten - maybe the tourists saw some wasps or bees on those individuals and were trying to swat them away? Maybe those weren't zip ties and combat regalia ? Maybe that was fancy dress and black licorice strings?
Maybe we didn't see what we saw. Maybe the police didn't experience what they thought they experienced and had somehow all taken an hallucinogenic.

When you never admit it wasn't stolen in the first place is that considered doubling down? But yes, he is continuing to insist it was stolen. So is trump.

Murdoch is a businessman. In the same sense that Trump is a businessman.. Both are self serving. Both are greedy. Both know how to turn a losing situation into a winning situation. Or at least a winning situation for themselves but damn the rest of the world.
I seem to remember hearing, but he ran a successful company so he can run the country... THAT WAS BS of the highest order. Nobody thought of it as it really is. When you own a company, your the boss. Not checks and balances. Running a country like you would a company that you own is never going to work unless you wanna silence everyone from speaking out. Low and behold, what did Trump try to do? It didn't work. He got caught.
By and by, the American people are good and honest people. Those of us that haven't lost our damn minds figured out long ago that Trump was a Grifter,.
Only the most desperate of us would ever put a man like that in office... Even dog catcher.. Dogs deserve better.
What was it again that Hillary called some of Trump supporters?

I guess if riots that burned multiple buildings to the ground and injured 2000+ police officers can be deemed “mostly peaceful” then dang near anything can.

I don't know of anyone who claimed the riots were peaceful. Only the protests during the day were called peaceful before the riots broke out later. I know trying to act like they were the same thing makes you feel better but they weren't.
It's no different than the rally itself was peaceful on Jan. 6th but after people went to the capital it was very violent. Hopefully that will help you with your confusion.

Personally, I find ANYONE defending J6 as less than an insurrection UNAMERICAN AND traitorous. You can't defend that attack, period. Those people may have been duped or misled by Trump, but they committed acts of violence and need to pay a steep price for their actions.
It seems over 25% of Republicans disagree with you and even 19% of Democrats.........
More than 1 in 4 Republicans approve of Jan. 6 rioters: poll
More than 1 in 4 Republicans now say that they approve of Trump supporters taking over the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, attacks, a new poll found.
A Economist-YouGov poll published on Wednesday found that 27 percent of Republicans strongly or somewhat approve of the rioters’ attempts on Jan. 6, 2021, to stop Congressional proceedings. The poll results also showed that 19 percent of Democrats also strongly or somewhat approved of the riot on the Capitol.
The poll also found that 52 percent of Republicans somewhat or strongly disapproved of the Jan. 6 rioters, compared to 76 percent of Democrats. Twenty percent of Republicans said that they were not sure whether they approved of the supporters, while 5 percent of Democrats said that they were not sure.
When asked what best describes their view on what happened during insurrection, 54 percent of Republicans said “people participated in a legitimate public discourse.” Just 27 percent of Republicans selected the second option that said “people participated in a violent insurrection,” while 20 percent said that they did not know.
Twenty-one percent of Democrats responded with “people participated in a legitimate public discourse” when asked the same question. The poll found that 71 percent described it as a “violent insurrection” while eight percent said that they did not know.
When asked how much responsibility does former President Trump bear for the Jan. 6 riot, 43 percent of Republicans said that he had no responsibility for the takeover. Ten percent of Republicans said that he had “a lot” of responsibility, 19 percent said he had “some” and 20 percent said he had “a little.”
Across the aisle, 3 percent of Democrats said that Trump had no responsibility for the takeover. More than 60 percent said that he had “a lot” of responsibility for the attacks, 16 percent said he had “some” and 12 percent said he had “a little.”
The poll was conducted from March 11 to 14 among 1,500 adult citizens. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.2 percent.
I consider it a riot and not an insurrection. To me an inssurrection would have to be a planned effort to take control of the govt. Something like what happened to Gaddafi. This is just a bunch of idiots getting out of control.
Some are just as you described. Some were not. I didn't know that making an attempt to stop the election process needed to be planned to count as an insurrection.
Here's how Oxford defines it....
in·sur·rec·tion
noun
noun: insurrection; plural noun: insurrections
a violent uprising against an authority or government.

That’s pretty much how they’re being prosecuted and sentenced. If they were truly being prosecuted, convicted and sentenced as violent insurrectionists, they’d be getting more than 5-10 years in a federal prison.

Honestly you don't have a clue at half the story. You have been fed in the right amounts of fear, scare and spin you have no idea what happened.
A political party has spoon fed a biased media what they want and you think it is the truth? You likely think Sandmann is a racist too.

I think you might want to look in the mirror. Think you might want to review your confirmation bias and your sources. I mean we all should do that constantly. But your take is bad. Ignore media spin in either direction, listen to the police who were there and listen to what the politicians who were there said (or text) .... Dont listen to what they say now/today. Listen to what was said then, that day and immediately after. Thats not a media narrative, thats just factual and relevant first hand accounts. Check out what people have confessed to in court of law. Again, not opinion or media soin .... Its fact.
But im pretty sure from what you have written you arent interested in challenging your perspective ... Guess thats up to you.

I don't trust any of them. Every thing I read is with a pound of salt. They all lie to make a buck. It is sad.

But technically, it was planned, just incompetently.

The ring instigators, leaders, and planners will get longer sentences for the insurrection. I think they have been lenient on the dupes so far, but still holding them accountable. Those who planned instigated, and or lead January 6th should be executed as traitors if you ask me. They tried to overthrow the legitimate government and install Trump! That's a coup.
I watched it as it all came out on the news, a fair amount in real-time, so I know what a successful violent coup looks like. But just because Trump and his minions were too stupid to pull it off, and most of the people there that day weren't prepared to go that far as to spark an all-out civil war, doesn't mean it wasn't a failed attempted coup with a minor insurrection that shocked and shook the nation. Eve, it doesn't matter which terms we use to talk about it or how we feel about these people politically. What they did was very bad and criminal and deserves harsh punishment. Stop lying to yourself about it not being a big deal because it was a big deal; you are smarter than that, and we both know it.

You consider it incorrectly then... It was an insurrection.
What's the meaning of an insurrectionist? insurrectionist (plural insurrectionists) A person who provokes or takes part in an insurrection synonym ▲ Synonym: insurrectionary.
That one pretty much defines Trump.....
You can call it what you like, but if you call it anything but what it is, you'd be wrong.

Agree 100%- the MAGA folks goose step to Trump's heartbeat. Their cries about "Deep State" and "Fake News"- dang, folks- Trump had four years to fix all that AND finish the wall he claimed was finished- it's on video tape- not fake. Only fake stuff is TRUMP- he's the ultimate Con Artist. Trump Organization CONVICTED of fraud- 17 counts or close, but still----he's just a great leader and guy......GET REAL. Put him in jail, please.

This may help explain it. Many seemed like they were trying to walk away from trump because they felt DeSantis would be the nominee. I mean who wouldn't have? He's just like trump only with a less volatile tone. But then came the fly in their ointment so now they feel the need to hedge their bets. They know how trump can be and the damage he can do if you don't follow him blindly.....
Donald Trump widens lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2024 GOP presidential race, poll finds
Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How- all commentators/ not news men/women have THEIR agenda- Carlson not different.
Polls up and down- wonder what polls will be like when Trump is arrested for classified material breaches which Smith has courage to make- DOJ will try and convict him- zero doubt- then what will Republicans do....PUNT?

I'm not sure when having an agenda turned into flat out admitting you knowingly lied to your viewers about the presidential election being stolen which helped work them into a frenzy to the point of over 1000 of them being arrested, over 140 police officers being injured and an attempt was made to stop that election from being certified. Maybe you can help me out with that one.

I believe the difference is that Fox only presented information to support the Trump position that there was election fraud.
Other networks and media would caveat the statement with "Alleged Election Fraud" or "Claims of Election Fraud" and possibly add "claims of election fraud that have not been substantiated".
When the media began to investigate the claims, they found out about the whole Hugo Chavez connection, Italian servers, etc. etc., and Sydney Powell/Rudy were determined to be "unreliable sources", or more plainly, liars.
It was not "Fair and Balanced" coverage.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!…. That did not age well.
Tucker Carlson Might Have Just Delivered His Most Racist Fox News Rant Yet
Josephine Harvey Thu, April 13, 2023 at 12:05 AM EDT·2 min read
Tucker Carlson went on an overtly racist tirade against a Tennessee state lawmaker on Wednesday night, suggesting Democratic Rep. Justin Pearson speaks like a “sharecropper” and got into college only because he’s Black.
Pearson is one of two Black lawmakers recently expelled from the state legislature by the GOP supermajority for joining protesters who chanted in the House chamber in support of gun control following a school shooting that left six people dead in Nashville last month. Pearson was reinstated Wednesday by the Shelby County Board of Commissioners in Memphis, and state Rep. Justin Jones was reinstated Monday by Nashville’s Metro Council.
In a Fox News segment attacking Pearson and other Democrats for what he called “mimicking civil rights leaders,” Carlson said Pearson had changed his demeanor over the years from that of a “crypto white kid” into “the “modern incarnation of Martin Luther King Jr. himself.”
“Pearson has been in the news recently for helping to facilitate an insurrection at the Tennessee State House,” Carlson said.
He played a video Pearson had filmed in 2016 when he was campaigning for student body president at Bowdoin College. In Carlson’s estimation, in that video, Pearson was trying to act like a white person.
“Justin Pearson wasn’t white. That’s probably how we got into Bowdoin in the first place,” he said, referring to the private liberal arts college in Maine. “But he did a fantastic impression of it .... That was the old Justin Pearson, before his ‘transition.’”
This content is not available due to your privacy preferences. Update your settings here to see it. “You got to ask yourself, as long as we’re mimicking civil rights leaders who died almost 60 years ago, why not some variety?” Carlson added after showing a video of Pearson speaking passionately on the House floor last week ahead of the vote to expel him.
“You never see politicians transitioning to say, Malcolm X. Why is that? Maybe because Malcolm X didn’t talk like a sharecropper. He spoke dignified standard English,” Carlson said.
It’s not unusual for Carlson to make racist comments and embrace white supremacist talking points on his show, one of the most-watched cable news programs in the country. He’s repeatedly promoted the racist “great replacement” conspiracy theory, which claims that white Christian Americans are being intentionally replaced by immigrants, people of color and non-Christians. Once, on a radio show in 2008, he called people from Iraq “semiliterate primitive monkeys.”
Carlson’s full comments about Pearson can be viewed below.

It's Tucker. He feeds what his base wants to hear. I'm far more disturbed by how large his audience is than what he himself says. One talking idiot isn't surprising. For such a talking idiot to have so many people watching him and taking what he says seriously is.

I can't think of a more awful way to make a paycheck: 5 days/week, producing nothing but poison and vitriol. Every week. All the time. God, what a life.
if there is good news, it's that the trial of Dominion vs Fox will bring many things to light that will cost Fox dearly and certainly make it clear to anyone with a brain that Fox is exactly what Murdock said it was,, not about the Blue or Red,, But about the GREEN..
I think they saw that Newsmax and Oann was taking over the space in the media that was dominated by Fox. And they had to go along to get along so to speak.
And remember, up next is Smartmatics vs Fox. That will be just as ugly I bet.
Bartriroma, (sp), Carlson and Hannity will pay a price for this. I'm confident that Murdoch and his sons will throw them all under a bus to try to limit their own liability... I don't think that will help, but i'm convinced they'll try.
