Your version of society, or society as a whole? I would doubt that there are 50+million that think what you just posted (I could be wrong), so what makes your picture of the world good and pure and other people's evil and wrong? Just because?

Because people believe the lies that he is perpetuating that have helped lead to a direct threat to our democracy. There's a lot wrong with our society. This is simply one example.

I would like to add, jut because 50 million viewed that video certainly doesn't mean 50 million agree with him. He actually had about 3 million people who watched his show, not 50 million. How many of those who viewed that video actually agree with Tucker Carlson?

Mostly a liar? i think that's a pretty tough call. Certainly not everything he says is a lie. What I believe is it's the things he does lie about that fires people up, goes along with a false narrative that divides our nation. It inflicts a great deal of anger to the point that it breeds hate to the point of violence. When you become a part of the extremist echo chamber by repeating some of the exact same things in part being espoused by white supremacists and extremist groups that perpetuate violence, that's the point where you become dangerous.

Just like someone like Limbaugh - the reason he sounded credible to some, was that he'd start off with some facts. Hell 90% of what he said, resaid, resaid again in a slightly different way - might all have been founded on truth ... but then what counts is the giant pivot and distortion of reality at the end. The conclusion - The punchline - the narrative/opinion that spews out of that lie/distortion is what then is the problem. It's the same thing you can see on left and right wing media outlets everywhere all the time. It's why people think their "left" or "right" wing talk show guy is spewing nuggets of divine truth. They prep the conversation in a common-senesical way only to picot at some point and take something they said as an "IF" - and it suddenly is taken for granted that the "IF" is a fact. Whether it's ideology, thought process, goals, agenda etc.

All that said - we have Tucker on record privately as saying he hates and despises Trump. We've seen him be a Trump sycophant and enabler and spin many lies over the last few years. Dude is the epitome of what is wrong with the media. Why anyone cares what he thinks or says, I don't know.

Very well stated. A great point that often gets lost in the chaos of fact, fiction and the endless fighting. it's been true of advertising for 100 years. It always seemed like the litmus test was "Is this true?" "Well, can you prove it's a lie??" This only became a trademark of "news" over the past 30-40 years. Now it is out of hand.

The bottom line is that the product is division. While everyone thinks it's ratings, profits, election wins, polling numbers, etc, etc; it's actually division. As long as there is a great divide, all the rest will follow. Very sad state of affairs.

Pit's post above tells you this is true... besides the specific groups he cites at the end; you could replace the name "Tucker" with nearly any name in the media and understand how that narrative would be accepted by the masses.

I certainly agree that both sides are guilty of twisting the truth and presenting a lopsided view that caters to the audience they target, what amazes me the most is that people can't seem to tell the difference between the consequences of their message.

BTW- You asked me about Tucker and only Tucker. I responded based on your questions and about who those questions were based on. Had I have attempted to open up the conversation any further I may have been accused of moving the goal posts. You know how that works.

Do you want to highlight how many people find him watchable? Do do you agree or disagree that he's a shell and a proven liar? I guess I'd like some context to why you keep posting the numbers.

The humor here is that all of you on here decrying tucker as a liar and rush as a liar spent 3-4 years sucking down every lie spouted on msnbc and cnn about Russia, Russia, Russia. You sucked up every word Brennan said when he came on tv and said he had seen absolute proof that trump was colluding with the russkies. Turns out he was lying. You believed every word out of schiff’s mouth when he had personally seen proof of trump’s guilt. Turns out he was lying. So why did you all buy into so much bogus stuff?? I'm sure he will be back with a podcast or YT channel. I think Newsmax has a news app but I don't think they are that popular. Why go there when he can control his own destiny.

He certainly has an audience. It's just like everyone on the far left and far right. Some people only listen to what they want to hear.

Last night I had a dream that I was at McDonalds. I was walking through the lobby with my meal and I dropped my quarter pounder on the floor. Tucker Carlson was sitting at a table and started laughing at me.

I have never watched either Carlson or Lemmon. It's hard to get the news due to the slanted reporting of most of news sources. I don't want their slanted pieces. I just want the facts. I try to use the BBC because they seem more neutral, but I'm not positive about that. Anyone know which news sources are the most neutral?
