They say curiosity killed the cat. All I can say is I'm glad I'm not a cat.

An ad for it just popped up on ESPN. He claims he tried to commit suicide after he was released from the Browns.

Yeah I saw he claimed that as well. From reading bout it combined with the trailer it seems some of the benders he went on could have killed him whether that was his goal or not.

I truthfully will try it, but I bet I won't finish it

Count me in! Might have to get an inflatable swan to watch it from.

I remember shortly after he was released he seemed to be in a really weird state, and that was when his personal life also started unraveling.

I don't care if it is successful, one way or the other. If he can earn some money using this show, more power to him. There are plenty of people of questionable "character" or faking reality
on reality shows that are not real, making a lot of money. Teen moms, Jersey shore, storage wars, Love it or list it etc.

If you look at it from strictly a Browns fan perspective that's exactly what he is. If you're looking for a bigger overview, there was his entire life before he got here and his life after he left. What he was before he got here is based on what happened earlier in his life. What happened here helped contribute to what happened after he left here.

I understand there will be a lot of people who simply don't care about any of that and I can't say I blame them. After all, the Browns have had more QB's since the return than I care to try and keep up with. However there were only a very few that the Browns invested so much in and had such a strange story. It's certainly a story I'm curious enough about to watch the show.

I don't like him, but I'll watch the documentary. It's like a train wreck.

The most damning thing about the Browns was their negligence in the whole pro day fiasco. It's crazy to think they would still draft him with so many red flags

By the time he was here, he was already too far gone. Anyone who was going to draft him was going to fail.

I watched it, too. I could’ve watched another hour.

Just bonkers how the Browns ignored all the warning signs, particularly during that pro day. Throwing to his agent and attorney because he partied too hard the night before with receivers and they couldn’t get out of bed, lol.

Billy Manziel may have been one of the most wild nights on Twitter.

That Documentary just made me feel bad again because of how bad I felt that season watching our draft pick QB not give two craps about the team. We all knew it. We didn't need a documentary to tell us that. It was obvious.

It made me wonder even more whether or not it was Haslam who made the call to draft him. There were a lot of rumors that was the case but it's impossible to simply rely on rumors. Yet we all have opinions. My opinion is leaning further in the direction that Haslam had a heavy hand in the decision to draft JFF.

Agree 100. Always have. Jimmy is everybody's buddy -- as long as you agree with him. I'm sure he 'sold' everyone on the idea.

I couldn't help but laugh during the documentary when Erik Burkhardt was talking about draft day and as Manziel was sliding Burkhardt said, "hurry and get the Browns on the phone!"

They weren’t very diligent in terms of looking into Justin Gilbert, iirc, before we DRAFTED HIM IN THE FIRST ROUND. did we even interview him?

So, it was a bad front office.

I broke down and choked my way throught it. He gave the middle finger to the Browns and the city of Cleveland and showed no remorse for doing it. On top of his addiction problems, JF seems like a narcissist who doesn't appear capable of respect, compassion or empathy. The evidence was there yet we still drafted him.

And has some eerie, curious way of constantly reminding the viewer that he knows this about himself... almost as if he is proud of it.

HAD to be the OWNER. His father says he's troubled. IF the Browns did ANY background checks- they couldn't draft him......YET, as screwed up as he was he won the Heisman. Browns were/are begging for winner- JMHO, Haslam thought if he won the Heisman he can take the Browns to GLORY. He/They were terribly wrong.

THE Front office then wasted so many picks---0-16 result. A proud organization down to zero. Sad- thank God Haslam gave his WIFE leadership responsibilities. Women to rescue.

The thing that makes me think it was Haslam the most are two parts. For one it seems often times people in power put a lot of value in what I call "the it factor". Someone they perceive that has some magic ingredient that simply makes them succeed that you can't quite put your finger on. Secondly there was the immediate financial implication involved. The name Johnny Football and the hype that surrounded him was sure to bring a lot of attention and focus to the Browns. After all, Haslam is one who made it plain that in his mind, "It's a marketing world". I think one must wonder just how far he felt that applied.

Cleveland quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains said a text he received from Johnny Manziel on the opening night of the NFL draft last Thursday helped get the ball rolling toward the Browns picking the former Texas A&M star quarterback.

During a radio interview on "SportsTalk with Bo Mattingly" on ESPN Arkansas 96.3, Loggains said that as Manziel slid down the draft board, he sent him a text that read: "I wish you guys would come get me. Hurry up and draft me because I want to wreck this league together."

Added Loggains: "When I got that text, I forwarded it to the owner (Jimmy Haslam) and to the head coach (Mike Pettine). I'm like, 'This guy wants to be here. He wants to be part of it.' As soon as that happened, Mr. Haslam said, 'Pull the trigger. We're trading up to go get this guy.'"

It was interesting.

No doubt the kid was troubled and sank to some deep depths.

Glad to see it looks like he has finally been able to put it together.

Uggg ..what a horrible documentary.

Kind of what I thought.... made me really frustrated with Farmer and Harlem for drafting him... kid had a ton of red flags his second year at A&M...

also, had no idea that the narrative that his family had money was completely made up...

I found that interesting as well. While it looked Johnny grew up in a very comfortable household, it was a ways away from images of JR Ewing strolling around the grounds of Southfork Ranch.

I'm not so sure he's finally put things together. At the age of 30 he's still living with his parents and from what the documentary indicated he isn't really doing anything with his life.

I mean I hope he figures everything out and does well in life but I have trouble reaching the conclusion that he's done so at this point based on that documentary.

Lot's of 30 something's live with their parents as do a lot of parents go to live with their kids. I don't know how to measure that. I don't know, maybe you are right and that makes both failures in life.

Comparatively speaking, he seems to be a long way from that troubled kid who jetted off to Vegas wearing a ridiculous costume. Watching him speak at a sports banquet or some alumni function at A&M made me think he has humbled up quite a bit, but we all see different things and have different measuring sticks.
