It's just been the messenger that one has to consider. He has been predicting a major economic disaster for a very long time now and uses every indicator that points to a negative in order to play Nostradumbass. According to him the sky has been falling since Biden was elected and often times he's brought nothing of actual substance to try and support that. Much as we see here.
While I don't disagree with your premise, there have been many good paying jobs produced during the past few years. Lot's of manufacturing jobs. Things we saw very little of before since the 1970's. Certainly not all of them. Certainly the total raw number in and of itself doesn't tell the entire story.

All the Dow going up really means is that lots of people are making bets (or fewer people are making big bets,) so "the line" is going up. Eh, Probably not a perfect analogy. You'd think after seeing "GameStop economics" people would figure out that stock values don't always change for sound economic reasons. The stock market was legalized gambling before it became "cool."

I think maybe you should consider that the former administration used stocks rising and job creation to hang their hats on in terms claiming they had created a strong economy. Now as we see from the person who has been claiming a major recession ever since Biden took over, none of that seems to matter now.
Both job creation and a rising stock market are economic indicators. Yet you are correct that they don't tell the entire story.

Speaking of acceleration, 25 year import ban is up, so my homeboy and I are thinking about importing those Nissan Skyline R34’s from Japan or Australia.
I was gonna wait til after the economic holocaust that conservatives kept claiming was imminent. But if I keep waiting, I’ll be old enough for a prostate exam.

I'm pretty sure I made the same arguments about the economy when Trump was president. (I don't think you were trying to say otherwise)
Using numbers to propagate a false narrative has become an art form in this country. I'm not sure if that's why I'm not fond of math or not. One gets "answers" that don't really tell one much. Plus, people can pick which numbers to share, and they tend to only give the ones that support the conclusion that they wanted to reach.
I prefer words and stories where you get the whole picture, preferably in order. PEMDAS drove me crazy in math. Why not just write the problem in the order you want it done?

I really don't disagree with you. I agree that the numbers we are given are selected to paint the best picture at the time by the party in power. My point was simply that if certain people used those same statistical categories to make the claim the economy was good then, they can't turn around use those same statistical categories when they are as good or better now as some indication the economy is doing badly now.
there are things they could point to. While inflation has been decreasing as an overall trend its still not good or fixed. Interest rates while not historically high are much higher than they've been for decades. Neither of those are good things and negatively impact the consumer directly. Those would be legitimate points to make.
I shouldn't have posted that last paragraph. I'll start to lose my liberal image.

Sucks for the middle class. What's crazy is I just built a new house over by oober because I hear that's where all the cool kids hang out (spoiler alert: it's not  ). I couldn't believe how much I paid for this house, but I guess the fortunate thing is that I also couldn't believe how much I was able to sell my last house for. Lo and behold, there is a market home going up across the street from me, as I type this, that is listed at $33K more than my house and is almost the same square footage. Demand does not seem to be cooling much. I do wonder, though, with things like student loans going into repayment if there is the potential for a hard landing. I don't know what the metrics are for other types of loans that are outstanding or what is happening to outstanding personal debt at the moment, but I do have to believe the chickens will come home to roost at some point.
