So he made the issue better than it was BEFORE he did the things you listed. I don't have any idea how much more simplistic that can be stated.

Now assuming we are all proficient in math it is not hard to detect when the border went to hell. Still there even as we speak. The fact that a dip occurred for a period of time does not change the overall situation. Those numbers also do not reflect the over 1.5 million “gotaways” that were not encountered at the border.

The illegals in this country are costing Americans a lot of money. We need to treat this as the crisis that it is but 50% or so of elected politicians do not want to do that. If they did we could solve it. There are a couple of steps we could take.

First, people who cross the border illegally should be sent back immediately. No delays.

Second, we hire 100,000 citizens with a legal background and train them heavily in asylum laws.

Third, anyone who comes to a port of entry, I think there are 5-6 on the southern border, but I am not certain, they will be immediately placed before one of these “asylum referees” for adjudication of their asylum claim. Since about 90% of asylum claims are denied, most would receive that denial and be removed to their country of origin. Under no circumstances would people who enter illegally or claim asylum be dumped into the country at the expense of the hard working American citizen.

Once the border is controlled we deal with daca. Those folks should be granted permanent residence and after 25 years receive citizenship. However, no chain migration will be permitted by families of daca.

As for the other 20-25 million people who violated our laws by sneaking into America, I would institute e verify as a part of employment. No legal social security number equals no job. Many will self deport then. Employers who hire people “under the table” who do not have a ss number, if they are found out , there will be a major financial hit, enough to make employers think twice.

After everything has taken root and our border is controlled, we can look at our legal immigration for what we need to do with all the parts of that system. But our immigration system should have as a goal making our country better.

Well, I do think that NYC only has so many dollars and all of those dollars that are spent on illegals who have no right to be here cannot be spent on American citizens in need. So there is that.

There is that. Yet if one is being factual, the law provides that if someone crosses the border and applies for asylum they are entitled to a hearing. Whether we like that or not that's the law. Only congress can change the law and I haven't see either side in congress attempt to change that.

No the law does not. It requires you to come to a port of entry to claim asylum. If you cross anywhere in lee you are an illegal border crosser and can be removed.

Legal claimants deserve a hearing and as I said , a prompt hearing. No hearings 9 months down the road. And no dumping into America .
