That's a rather absurd thing to say. Have you been to New York or Chicago in the past? They had huge numbers of immigrants before republican governors started shipping them there in buses. Meat packing plants in middle America are full of immigrant workers. Do you even pay attention? Immigrants often times don't "stay in Texas". They have family ties and move to places all over this nation. And you seem to admit that those governors "target sanctuary cities". BTW- Since when was tens of thousands a "few illegals"?

It's a national issue. Not just a border states issue or a sanctuary city issue. But that's what happens when you allow politics to rule the day rather than admit if you're going to spread out immigrants, do it across the board

We won't talk about Biden undoing Trump border policies on DAY ONE... And then ignoring the problem for two years. Somehow THAT is not relative. rofl

Pit has been told this several times, he simply refuses to acknowledge it and continues to parrot false information.

Joe Biden's immigration policy is primarily based on reversing many of the immigration policies of the previous Trump administration. During his first day in office, Biden reversed many of Trump's policies on immigration, such as halting the construction of the Mexican border wall, ending Trump's travel ban restricting travel from 14 countries, and an executive order to reaffirm protections for DACA recipients.[1][2][3] The Biden administration and Department of Homeland Security, under leadership of Alejandro Mayorkas, dramatically reined in deportation practices of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prioritizing national security and violent crime concerns over petty and nonviolent offenses.[4] However, Biden has also faced criticism for extending Title 42, a Trump administration border restriction that arose due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as restarting the use of expediting families in Central America, which can cause families to be sent back in weeks, compared to years for an average immigration case.[5] In the fiscal year 2021, the US Border Patrol confirmed more than 1.6 million encounters with migrants along the US-Mexico border, more than quadruple the number in the previous fiscal year and the largest annual total on record.[6] In January 2023, Biden announced a program to strengthen the admission of immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, while at the same time his administration will crack down on those who fail to use the plan’s legal pathway and strengthen border security.[7] In May 2023, the Biden Administration approved sending 1,500 more troops to the U.S.-Mexico border following Title 42's expiration.[8][9]

On June 23, 2023, the U.S. Supreme ruled that a Biden Administration immigration policy which involves the deportation of people deemed public safety threats or who were picked up at the border could be enforced.[10] The ruling also upheld the prosecution of people who encourage illegal immigration.[11]

Presidential Proclamation 10141 – Ending Discriminatory Bans on Entry to the United States
On January 20, 2021, soon after his inauguration, Biden halted the construction of Trump's Mexican border wall,[2] ending the national emergency declared by the Trump administration in February 2019.[3]

Biden also ended the Trump travel ban, a series of three executive orders imposed by Donald Trump on 14 countries, most of them Muslim, in January 2017.[2][3]

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
Biden also reaffirmed protections to DACA recipients and urged Congress to enact permanent protections for the 700,000 undocumented immigrants benefited by the policy.[1]

Deferred Enforced Departure
The same day, Biden sent a memorandum to the Department of State reinstating Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for Liberians, deferring the deportation of any "person without nationality who last habitually resided in Liberia, who is present in the United States and who was under a grant of DED as of January 10, 2021" until June 30, 2022.[13][14]

Deportations
See also: Title 42 expulsion
The administration also issued a pause on deportations from the Department of Homeland Security for the first 100 days of Biden's presidency.[15]

On January 22, 2021, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Biden administration on the grounds of violating Biden's written pledge to cooperatively work with the State of Texas.[16]

On January 26, 2021, federal judge Drew B. Tipton blocked the Biden administration's 100-day deportation memorandum, citing that the state of Texas would indeed "suffer imminent and irreparable harm" and the restraining order requested by Paxton would not harm the administration nor the public.[17]

In January 2022 the Biden administration deported Venezuelan migrants to Colombia without a chance to seek asylum after entering the United States from Mexico. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security declare it would deport Venezuelans to Colombia “on a regular basis", limited to migrants that resided in Colombia previously.[18] In October, the Biden administration invoked Title 42, a Trump era measure, to expel Venezuelan migrants to Mexico.[19] Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch criticized the decision.[20][21] On November 15, 2022, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that expulsions under Title 42 were a violation of the Administrative Procedure Act and that it was an “arbitrary and capricious" violation of the Act.[22] The ruling required the United States government to process all asylum seekers under immigrant law as previous to Title 42's implementation.[22] The ruling was celebrated by the ACLU, a plaintiff in the case.[22][23]

Aw, I know that the plunge in border crossing after Biden replaced trump's border policy is upsetting to you. But it really did happen. Actually Biden began deporting people who didn't apply for asylum before crossing the border. But you seem to have a problem differentiating between far left liberals and the rest of democrats. A common problem. And of course the far left is fighting that in court. You do realize people can post whatever they want on wikipedia, right?

Illegal border crossings dip to lowest level in over 2 years

The Biden administration touted the drop a day before a federal judge is set to hear a challenge to its asylum ban.

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/18/illegal-border-crossings-drop-00106934

Yeah, when somebody actually tries addressing the problem all you have is "Yeah, but whatabout before that!?"

What we have is everyone complaining about the immigration problem, but no one is offering a solution that is a compromise.

Hard Left or Hard Right policies don't make sense and we don't really know what they are.

Meanwhile we wonder why we have unexpectedly low unemployment, and why we are not growing.

Birthrates are at historical lows, and additional people are needed to grow.

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

You do realize that illegal border crossings being at the lowest level in over two years actually means something don't you? It means it was lower than it was BEFORE everything you mentioned Biden did ever happened. Try using some context for a change.

Biden's been in office for two years and eight months.

Try using a calculator if your brain can't spit out simple math. Or just look at the graph above. I know, I know, Eve is good at software -- it's probably a deep fake.

Once again, you posted things he did after that timeline, not before it. The things he did later than "more than two years before" doesn't impact the fact that he lowered that number to a time before he took those actions. You seem to be the one having a problem with "simple math" here.

Words in a blender is the only thing that comes to mind. I have no clue what you're even trying to say.

If two million crossed tomorrow you would blame it on Trump and then cheer that the numbers are down 4569495% the next day.

Then you're not trying to understand. You gave a list of reasons that "created", according to you, the situation. The problem is that most all of the things you listed happened LESS than "over two years ago". And BTW- that new policy was enacted in May. That was ehn he had been president for 2 years and 4 months. Not 2 years and 8 months. And that number was for "over two years", not two years. In order to make your points valid those would be changes he would have had to have made within the first few months after he took office. So he made the issue better than it was BEFORE he did the things you listed. I don't have any idea how much more simplistic that can be stated.

And where did I blame trump for it? I simply stated that the numbers went down substantially after Biden enacted his new border policy. A fact you seem to try and deny like the plague.

I’ve seen some wild ass hair over the years, but Fetterman, who I believe is a good man that fights for working people, is the first shorts and hoodie congressional member that I can remember. But I do know several on the right that I suspect have worn hoods a time or two.

While I do agree with you, Congress has a much bigger problem with its members having no idea how to behave while in the chamber (much less in public). The rampant bad behavior that's on the rising is really worriesome... a hoodie and shorts suddenly seems pretty unimportant.

This is going down at the same time as Boebert going full Girls Gone Wild. Priorities.

If you want to do a whatabout, then whatabout that Dem chick who did sex acts online for tips. Boebert having a good time at a show isnt that big of a deal.

But you think dressing like a slob at work ok. When you are on display for the world to see. So I guess you think politicians selling their body is ok too.

Isn't it okay to say that both are wrong? No idea which Dem chick did what you said here - but assuming it's true, it's not ok. Party / Politics shouldn't have any bearing on whether someone's behaviour is acceptable or ethical.

Perhaps we should add "no cleavage bearing dresses" and that members have to sit at least one chair apart?

You're right about the cleavage. If they don't forbid that and the women showing cleavage get sexually harassed they'll blame it on the way the women were dressed.

You do realize that the numbers below reflect border encounters according to the border patrol.
2017- 527k
2018- 683k
2019- 1.1m
2020- 647k
2021- 2.0m
2022- 2.8m
2023 to date- over 2.5m

Now assuming we are all proficient in math it is not hard to detect when the border went to hell. Still there even as we speak. The fact that a dip occurred for a period of time does not change the overall situation. Those numbers also do not reflect the over 1.5 million “gotaways” that were not encountered at the border.

The illegals in this country are costing Americans a lot of money. We need to treat this as the crisis that it is but 50% or so of elected politicians do not want to do that. If they did we could solve it. There are a couple of steps we could take.

First, people who cross the border illegally should be sent back immediately. No delays.

Second, we hire 100,000 citizens with a legal background and train them heavily in asylum laws.

Third, anyone who comes to a port of entry, I think there are 5-6 on the southern border, but I am not certain, they will be immediately placed before one of these “asylum referees” for adjudication of their asylum claim. Since about 90% of asylum claims are denied, most would receive that denial and be removed to their country of origin. Under no circumstances would people who enter illegally or claim asylum be dumped into the country at the expense of the hard working American citizen.

Once the border is controlled we deal with daca. Those folks should be granted permanent residence and after 25 years receive citizenship. However, no chain migration will be permitted by families of daca.

As for the other 20-25 million people who violated our laws by sneaking into America, I would institute e verify as a part of employment. No legal social security number equals no job. Many will self deport then. Employers who hire people “under the table” who do not have a ss number, if they are found out , there will be a major financial hit, enough to make employers think twice.

After everything has taken root and our border is controlled, we can look at our legal immigration for what we need to do with all the parts of that system. But our immigration system should have as a goal making our country better.

Well, I do think that NYC only has so many dollars and all of those dollars that are spent on illegals who have no right to be here cannot be spent on American citizens in need. So there is that.

There is that. Yet if one is being factual, the law provides that if someone crosses the border and applies for asylum they are entitled to a hearing. Whether we like that or not that's the law. Only congress can change the law and I haven't see either side in congress attempt to change that.

No the law does not. It requires you to come to a port of entry to claim asylum. If you cross anywhere in lee you are an illegal border crosser and can be removed.

Legal claimants deserve a hearing and as I said , a prompt hearing. No hearings 9 months down the road. And no dumping into America .

Wow! What a concept. Do something the right way, the legal way. Democrats don't follow laws so how can they actually expect others to?

So you're saying that these immigrants being allowed to stay aren't entering through legal points of entry? Do you mean like this?

Quote
FACT SHEET: Biden-Harris Administration Announces New Border Enforcement Actions

Effective immediately, individuals who attempt to enter the United States without permission, do not have a legal basis to remain, and cannot be expelled pursuant to Title 42 will be increasingly subject to expedited removal to their country of origin and subject to a five-year ban on reentry.Jan 5, 2023

Or are you saying that immigrants who cross the border at locations other than legal points of entry entered this country with permission? This is a part of Biden's new border security policy.
