Nine games remain in the regular season.

Braves, Dodgers, Orioles, Rays, have locked up post season spots.

Astros, Rangers, Mariners are locked in a tight race.

Braves are in position to have home field through the World Series with the best record in MLB.

Once the playoffs begin IMO "favorites" has little meaning. In a five game series you run up against two hot starters and you can get sent home quickly.

Seven game series favors the best team. Win or lose in seven games you accept what happens.

For a baseball fan like myself post season baseball is high drama. Every pitch is magnified. It can get tense.

I want the Braves to win this World Series. They have been such a good team. A pleasure to watch. They will most likely hit more home runs than any team ever. The lineup is crazy good from top to bottom. Spencer Strider has 18 wins and nobody is close in K's. Max Fried is a big time ace.

But baseball can be cruel. Anything can happen.

I'd like to see the Orioles win it ... they are a fun team to watch.

I suspect it will be the Braves/Dodgers against the Astros/Orioles

The Braves played the O's early in the season when the Rays were way out in front.

I was really impressed with them. I didn't know the team. But it was clear to me they were good. They hustle. They can hit. They run and play defense. They can pitch both from the pen and their starters. Once they took the lead in the East. They have rolled.

Astros and Rangers are both powerhouses.

In the NL the Dodgers and Braves have ruled. The Phillies have a strong lineup and two top starters. The Brewers could be a problem.
I fear the NLDS. I hate the five game series.

My guess is the Braves will play the Dodgers for the NLCS.

The Astros will the play the O's for the ALCS. Rangers or Rays are certainly capable of winning as well.

I don't think the Braves can be beaten in a seven game series. I think they are one of those teams that will have ruled from start to finish.

At least I hope so.

I'd agree w/you. It is going to take a great effort to be Atlanta. They've been a powerhouse from start to finish

I have been a baseball damn near all my life. I witnessed a lot of baseball over that time.

Strange things can happen. Obscure players like Brian Doyle can go nuts in a series and decide the outcome.

In 2021 the Braves won 88 regular season games. At the trade deadline they got Eddie Rosario from the Indians for nothing. He was hurt and sat for six weeks. He won MVP of the NLCS and basically beat the Dodgers. That same trade deadline the Braves got Jorge Soler from KC. He was hitting like .200. Again they got him for next to nothing. He won the MVP of the World Series.

All kinds of wacko things have taken place in post season baseball.

In a 162 game regular season the best record is the best team. You prove that over 162 games.

Post season the best teams for sure do not always win. Teams get hot and just play great on the big stage.

The best teams do also win it all.

I will be locked in. The Braves are going to be very good for years to come. This same team with just a few changes will be together for close to eight more years. All their young super talented players are locked up under contract. Right now the Atlanta Braves are arguably the top organization in all of sports.

Ronald Acuna has been the best player in MLB this season.

Last night he hit his 40th home run. He joins only four others in MLB history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases.

Barry Bonds, Alfonso Soriano, Alex Rodriguez, Jose Conseco.

Acuna has 40 home runs and 68 steals. He stands alone and will finish with 40+ and 70+ steals.

It has been amazing watching him play this year. He is also hitting .337, with 101 RBI's, 143 RS.

He also plays gold glove defense with a cannon arm.

He is the definition of a five tool player. Having one of the greatest seasons in history.
