Right wingers should take a look at the protesters who “stormed” a federal building yesterday.

Notice how little coverage it got? That’s how peaceful it was. No plot to take over the government, no chants calling to hang the VP, nobody got shot, and by all accounts, pretty boring.

Hell, I wanted to go there just to create a circle and start breaking dancing. Fox News ain’t even bother having it at the top of the page pretending like it’s a big deal. That’s how uneventful it was.

Perhaps. But around here, the criminals are coming from the cities much more. Toledo, Detroit, Ft. Wayne. Spreading out to rural areas. At least that's what I see in reading the police reports.

So it was only happening in big cities because democrats run big cities? Now that it's become a rural issue it's only happening because criminals are coming from the big cities that are run by the democrats?

It seems the story keeps changing like the direction of the wind.

A lot of the violent stuff I had seen back in my criminal law days had to do with domestic violence in more rural places like Xenia and Greene County. A lot of that tied into substance abuse. I imagine that alcohol obviously continues to be a concern as it always has been, but the opioid epidemic was hitting places like that hard, and a lot of the violence cases tied to people either under the influence of opioids or people who had come off an opioid high that - in their own words - would not let anything stand in the way of them getting more.

Well, that’s obvious PIT. The only rural people crimes commited are things like beastiality, incest, rape, race crimes, senseless murder, and stealing warm apple pies from mama’s pie coolin’ window seal. It’s those “OTHERS” (wink wink) committing the heinous crimes like human trafficking, drug trafficking, and diluting the gene pool.

And how this crime increase is juxtaposed with the entire country in the same time frame would be interesting to know. This guy literally references nothing. Not saying he made it up out of thin air, but would expect a journalist to point out where he got his information.

How many places with populations in Iowa have less that 10,000 residents qualify as a town or municipality. If the crime rate rose from 10 to 15 incidents, or 20 to 30, that's not as flashy as saying "50% in small communities".

Democracy has been a "sham" for awhile. We've pretty much been operating as an oligarchy and more and more power is accumulating at the top. I don't know if I'd go as far as to say we are a DINO (Democracy in name only,) but we definitely have a bit of the wolf in sheep's clothing idea going on. We dress it up as a democracy, but ultimately I don't think it really acts like one (at least not a good example of one.) Or maybe the system has just been co-opted (diverted from its intention) by "wolves." Rather than protecting the rights and freedoms of the people, those in power seem focused on maintaining their own power.

Stop playing dodge ball. When election results no longer matter and you have one side to blame for it, stop acting like everything is the same. It's not. And no amount of side winding will change that.
