What a fraud...this probowl system is a joke.

Rothlisburger?
Ogden?
No Steinbach, who led all AFC Guards?
No Winslow?

NFL = Fail on this one. What a joke.

"The Browns also had four players chosen as first alternates -- quarterback Derek Anderson, tight end Kellen Winslow, left tackle Joe Thomas and left guard Eric Steinbach. Fullback Lawrence Vickers is a second alternate, and kicker Phil Dawson is a third alternate"

I wonder how the contract bonuses are structured..do they have to be starters ? There's usually a couple guys that don't make the trip so we may see another Brown go.

Ok so Cribbs and Edwards are starters and DA, KW, Thomas and Stieny are 1st alternates with Vickers and Dawson as second and third alternates..

Basically 8 Browns may end up in Hawaii... I'm not so sure that's a bad thing,, at first, I didn't know anything about anybody but Cribbs and Edwards and I was gonna be a typical homer and suggest that the voting was rigged

But now I'm happy again.

Ogden is a flat out joke. Seriously... the guy has been hurt for half the year and has played like it. Knowing that Thomas is a first alternate is absolutely infuriating because he'd be on the team if Ogden didn't make it. Then again, I think Thomas will be a Pro Bowler this year when all is said and done because the odds of Ogden actually choosing to play in the Pro Bowl with all his injuries are pretty slim.

Steinbach deserved to go as well... not sure how he got stuck as a first alternate again. I'm not surprised about Winslow... but even if Gonzalez is too hurt and pulls out of the Pro Bowl, I don't know that Winslow is healthy enough to play a fun game either. Congrats to DA for getting alternate, I'm just not sure that a QB will withdraw.

Bah. It shouldn't even have to come to that for most of these guys.

Well, it isn't the giant windfall we had all hoped for, BUT....

up to this point our ONLY Pro Bowler since '99 was a free agent signee in Jamir Miller. We had ZERO home-grown. Now we have Cribbs & Edwards... and Winslow, Thomas, Vickers and Dawson with honorable mentions.

Will we see Dawson or Vickers there? Not likley.. .but it is very likely that we could see Winslow, Thomas & Steiny.

2 Starters & 6 Alternates. EIGHT in ONE YEAR compared to ONE in EIGHT YEARS.... this is a beautiful day

Like others, I can't believe Ogden is on that list. He's started a whole 8 games this season, and the Ravens are terrible.

I guess what I meant was that he isn't technically a starter, he's a reserve. But, he's not an alternate like Thomas, Winslow, etc. He did make the pro bowl. I think it's just semantics. And, I like to be picky.

Imho Phil Dawson too...he is having a fantastic season (24/27...1 of the misses was the OAK-block.....lots of clutch kicks and then last weeks blizzard kicks)....Bironas is 31/35....and has missed 2 FGs under 30yds...I dunno, he is having a great season too, but Phil HIT THE SUPPORT BAR TWICE, lol

Steinbach not going is a complete joke, as is Ogden over Thomas.....also Garrard should be ahead of both Roethli and DA as the 3rd AFC-QB

heck, you can even make a case for Jamal instead of Parker...Parker has the most carries in the league by far, that´s all....less TDs (just 2 to Jamals 11 !!!!) and even worse AVG compared to Jamal

How does Steinbach not make the probowl?
He is anchoring the best line in the NF FREAKIN L?!!
The only reason K2 didn't make it is because of the "perennial probowlers"
Gates and Gonzolas.
Just like Ray Lewis... put his name out there, and "he must be good, he always has been"
What a rip
Huge congrats to Braylon and Josh... You both deserve a piece of the pie.

This will all change if we continue to play well and win games.

Half of the "popularity contest" aspect is name recognition. To date, there's been no reason for general fans to know ANY of our players. As we've all seen over the course of this season, all that is about to change.

If the Browns make the playoffs this year and continue to kick ass next, there'll be plenty of orange helmets on the field in Hawaii next year.

Lighten up, Dawgs... the long drought is over. I thought there'd be more celebrating and less complaining... but I've been on this board long enough... I should have known better

Pro Bowl selection is a big joke, just like the Power Rankings are.Don't dig to deep into either one of them to much. They are both just opinions and popularity contests.

That's exactly what I was hoping for. Get them upset and bring on Cincy.

I'm upset about Winslow missing. I bet he makes it if they give him that catch in Arizona though....oh well.

Well congrats to those who made. Good for Cribbs especially. He lays the hits as well as avoids them, I hope he has many more vacations in hawaii! Good for Braylon. The highlight reel catches win the popularity contest.

For the alternates, and those who didn't make it, this is a team sport. None of these guys make it with out the grunts. The O-line is the biggest improvement this year hands down. By next year, everyone else will know it too. What a good feeling to be a fan of a team who has 8 names on the list and gets to argue over who else should be there. The number of us who predicted anything like this at the beginning of the year could be counted on one hand............Wearing mittens.

Just nice to be having this conversation. GO BROWNS!

Willie Parker? How can a guy that scores 2 TD's as a feature back be a pro-bowler? I know he leads the league in rushing right now but that has a lot to do with his # of touches, which by the way are 31 more......then the SECOND place guy!!!

Fred Taylor or even Jamal should have gone over Parker.

Don't even get me started on Ogden.....or the fact that Steiny could lead the fan voting and be completely left off. And Winslow?!!!! He has more catches, yards and a higher YPC then Gates!

I usually don't get that upset over this stuff but Winslow and Steinbach were huge snubs. We had a better offense then Pittsburgh (across the board) and they get more players in????

Ok, I feel better......time to go take in out on Cinci.

One other that I question is Polamalu. He's got no sacks, no interceptions, and has missed games due to injury. He and Ogden, to me have not had pro bowl years.

As for Winslow, Gates and Gonzales are constantly pimped by the media, while Winslow is continually outplaying them.

Do either of them have a 1000 yd. reciever on their teams? Or are they the featured recievers? Do they have a guy like JJ to share catches with? For K2 to be producing like he is with all the competition on this team for getting the ball, is amazing. If he was the primary, much like Gonzales is in KC, his stats would be astrnomical.

Rothlisberger has a high rating, which he built against some of the weakest defenses in the league. Parker has a ton of yards, but can't do squat in the redzone.

The probowl, as long as fans get to vote, is not really a representing of the true best of the year, just a popularity contest.

You could argue that Fraley is one of the best centers, how many sacks has he given up? Is he not a great anchor to a great line who makes great line calls?

Too many teams, with too many good players for this game to actually be used as a contract incentive. If Winslow was playing in NE right now with Brady, he would be the starter no doubt. The whole thing in my eyes is ludicrous.

I was just about to mention his name... He did not earn this pro bowl seat AT ALL this season.. It was given to him b/c of his play from previous seasons.

Here's an amazing blurb.....

Fred Taylor is the 18th leading rusher in NFL history, but has never been to the Pro Bowl. That makes him the only one of the top 43 rushers in history not to make it to the league's all-star game.

WOW. He could go to the hall of fame and not even be voted to a single pro-bowl. That is an absolute JOKE.

yes, but edwards was not announced as a starter for the team...

wayne and moss got in because there numbers are slightly better...

what actually happens in that game is meaningless as far as being a "pro bowl starter", when you are named the starter, it virtually means you were named to be the best at that position...

tough break for winslow, but you can make an argument for him, gates, and gonzalez, someone had to be left out and they picked the guy who hadn't been there, kellen will get this eventually though...

it's just awesome to see some browns in there, congrats to braylon edwards and joshua cribbs

jonathen ogden getting in is an absolute joke, it shoulda ben JT, but i have a feeling we're going to see joe in quite a few pro bowls down the road...

it's kinda funny if you think about it, last year, and really the last few years, our guys were probably mad at not getting anybody in there

but do you honestly think any of these guys care right now about making the pro bowl? maybe when the season is over, but right now these guys are meant for bigger things
