Out of curiosity, I checked ticket prices in Cleveland. $2500 for a pair of floor tickets. I must be way out of touch because I think that’s insane. Hell I remember a time thinking $100 a ticket was nuts not all that long ago. Even the nose bleed seats are over $200 a pair. I could see a few hundred for their concert tickets, but if that only buys nosebleed seats, that’s a hell of a lot for 4 guys in their 70s doing a nostalgic tour. And I love their music, just not that much.

If you have not been in nursing homes lately it's not uncommon to hear AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones etc, etc being played in the rooms.

I agree, nobody short of a reincarnated Jimi Hendrix, SRV or Mozart is worth that much money to see play some music.

I never undersood the , whatever, appreciation, fandom, popularity, celebration, <none of them are the right word I'm looking for,
for that kind of and style of music.
I mean I understand it is music, and it was music, and it was what it was, but I don't get the extra love and nostalgia for it.
, maybe it was the experiences like sex and drugs at their concerts.

While it's not hard to understand whatsoever I'll try to explain it to you. It's a time period in the life of baby boomers. It reminds you of your youth. It reminds you of simpler times when life wasn't so complicated. Fond times and memories. Do you not have music that you relate to things like that in your life? If not I feel sorry for you.

I understand the nostalgia, but it's not enough to make me want to pay hundreds of dollars to see these guys well past their prime. I saw most of these acts for under 10 dollars a ticket back in the 70's and early 80's. Accounting for inflation, it sure doesn't add up to what's being charged these days.

I don't disagree with you. I went to a LOT of concerts when I was younger. I saw many of these bands in their prime. As an example I saw ZZ Top on their Fandango tour. For some reason my grandson who was around 20 at the time was really into them and asked if I would take him to see them a couple of years ago in Nashville. Of course I told him that I would. What I saw was a still very talented group but they were a shadow of their former selves. I took no joy in any of that. He loved them but with me knowing what they used to be it I found it rather sad.

I certainly wouldn't pay the going rate for Stones tickets and I saw them in the 70's too. I know it would be a huge disappointment for me. The nostalgia angle is what I was explaining to THROW. The reason why people are still so attracted to their music.

My first concert was in the early 70's. I paid $4.50 to see Humble Pie and The James Gang. Now that was some bang for your bucks!

Musical tastes are normally set between the ages of 14-24, no surprise there.

The next generation will be playing new wave, then grunge.

I will be listening to Steely Dan, CSN, Jackson Browne, Pink Floyd, The Who, and Zeppelin on a Thorens turntable with vacuum tubes.

The tubes were before my time but are really nice.

The section for Dave, Miles, Herbie, John are in a separate wing.
