I understand, but we kinda cheat down here in bfe Fla...we just go get the water straight from the ocean and don't worry about pH and all that.

If you don't worry about pH and all that, your fish will all die eventually. You HAVE to worry about it in 29 gallons of water...in the ocean, not so much.

There are a LOT of cool FW fish...my next tank may be full of Rainbowfish. Very colorful and pretty. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=886

My wife bought me several nice items. Notably, my throwback Webster Slaughter jersey that I have wanted since I was in third grade. I also recieved a home beer making kit, several Browns, and Ohio State shirts, some Carhart gear for my second job, an old, old, electric football game that I've also wanted for quite a while, a dartboard, and a finger football game.

In return, I bought her 1/3 ct diamond earrings, an ipod nano, a coat, sweater, scarf, pajamas, a couple books, and a new utility bag for whatever she wants to carry.

We bought her mom a cross pendant on a necklace, a comforter, and pajamas.

We bought my younger sister a Swarovsky ornament. -Expensive, but, really, really nice. My little sister collects 'em, and I wanted to do something nice for her.

I bought my niece/nephew a Wii- How did I find one? -Freak luck, they had them in stock at gamestop.

I bought my other nephew a train, -3 years old and he had the nerve to say that he didn't like it.

I bought my other nephew a train- 2 years old on Christmas day, and he loved it.

We bought my little niece a Cabbage Patch Kid that resembles her.

I told my mom to find a flight to Houston that she can take, and that I will pay for her ticket.

It was a great Christmas. I love being 29 years old and married. I cannot wait to develop a family, like most of you have done.

I got tickets for this past week's Browns/Bengals game from my Ex. We broke up a few weeks ago, but she already bought them for me so I went with her.

I kept telling her I didn't want to go (I did want to go of course, just not with her ), but she couldn't find anyone to go with and didn't want to sell them because she bought them for me. I went under the condition that she couldn't talk about anything relationship-wise.

It was a long ride there and back, but we had a good time tailgating and at the game. I don't pay much attention to her anyways when there's a game on, except to answer all of her stupid questions like "what's first and ten mean?"

It would've been a lot better of course if we would have won and clinched the playoffs. I'm sure everyone on here (except christyk ) would've had a better Christmas if that happened.

Several items....

My sisters dog just died several weeks ago and her entire family took it rather hard. One of the gifts that we got them was a nice "tribute" frame that my wife found. We included one of their favorite pictures that I Photoshopped in. It was much appreciated and it's nice to give that gift that is just right.

A extended family member is suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease and was able to spend most of Christmas out of bed and without his oxygen. It was obvious and touching to see how much he treasured the day. It's so easy to take things for granted, you know.....

Not trying to be a downer, but there can be joy and fellowship found in trying times.

Personally I had a great day with family and friends. While all the gifts were appreciated, I did really enjoy a story from a book titled, "Buckeye Fans Only". This book is a collection of thoughts from former grads, personalities etc. Lee Corso writes of a game against the Buckeyes (1976) where OSU goes up 6-0 on a TD and missed PAT to start the game. Indiana proceeds to march down the field, score and gain a 7-6 lead. With that Lee writes that he told the ref, "that's it, we quit". The official tells him he can't quit, so Lee says, OK then.....time out". With the time out called, he assembles his team under the scoreboard for an impromptu team picture. I quote from the book:

Woody takes his hat off and he throws it at me.....The referee says, "What the hell are you doing?" I said, "You know what mister, it's been 25 years since Indiana has been ahead of that SOB and I want a picture to prove I'm ahead of him".

Indiana lost 47-7. I sat there at home and nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I read that. My family thought I was nuts. What a great story and a good book. It has quickly become my second favorite behind "Woody's Boys".

I thought they looked horrible when I was there. I thought maybe it was just that I had a bad angle or something, but then I got home and saw them on TV. I would've been looking for something to throw too...

I wouldn't use water from the ocean. You can invite all kinds of bacteria and disease to your tank. And I would worry about ph and all that.
You have to very on top of it if you run a saltwater tank.

My fav freshwater fish are pirahnas.

Wife got me a nice winter jacket this year. I like the colours and the fit, and it's warm as heck.

But as far as material things go, I got the Cuisinart Griddler

CUISINART??????????????

I'll let this one slide though as KitchenAid doesn't make anything like the Griddler (I admit, I'd like one myself)

Sorry Lees, you've seen my kitchen so you know my heart belongs to Red Kitchenaid. If they made something like that, I would have gotten it.

I did get 2 new Red Kitchenaid items in my stocking... a sandwich spreader and a box grater!

I know C. Our Product Managers are a bit behind in coming out with new products. I told them 3 years ago that I was being asked for a KitchenAid Panini Press, but that I thought it should do more than paninis...like the Griddler.

Excellent, more red KitchenAid is always a good thing though...

It's not even the panini press. I'm not sure how much I'm going to use that function. What really got me was the wide open grill. Sometimes stuff just doesn't fit in the George Foreman space.

You still need to get me a red KA potato smasher

Sweet English.

I got home from the game and wow what a wild weekend.

I received a Christmas gift from out of the blue and I have to say it is probably the best gift I got.

I received a very nice bottle of wine from 44 and his lovely wife. It's a 2003 Riesling from the the Alfred Eigelshoven Weinkeller. It's a Mosel Saar Ruwer Wine and one of the best I've had from that region. Briedel is in the Mosel wine region of Germany and I will say it's one of the most beautiful wine regions there.

Thank you again 44 and Mrs 44.
