Wasn’t on my radar this morning at all.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was told a parasitic worm ate part of his brain: Court documents reveal the devastating impact it had on the presidential candidate's health.

Asked if he thought it would affect his chances of POTUS. “That’s hilarious considering the competition.”

Gotta give him credit for that retort. Apparently it's too much to ask to have a non-septuagenarian/octogenarian presidential candidate with a fully functioning brain.

That helps answer a lot of the questions I had.

Actually I just found out the response came from a campaign spokesperson.

Pay attention and perhaps you will see.

Basically, his stance on things like vaccines. Geez. I heard he was going to be on The Beat with Ari Melber last night so I tuned in to listen.

First let me say this, he's hard to listen to. I tried but really had a hard time understanding his words. He has a health issue that causes it so I don't want to make light of that but he's hard to understand.

But what really bugs me is he talks about American Health and they says he's basically an Anti Vaxer.

I could go on but I'm not gonna

Here is a list of some of the conspiracies he espouses but I'm not sure it includes all of them.......

Vaccines cause autism.

No childhood vaccines "have ever been tested in a safety study pre-licensing."

There is "tremendous circumstantial evidence" that psychiatric drugs cause mass shootings, and the National Institutes of Health refuses to research the link out of deference to pharmaceutical companies.

Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine were discredited as COVID-19 treatments so COVID-19 vaccines could be granted emergency use authorization, a win for Big Pharma.

Exposure to the pesticide atrazine contributes to gender dysphoria in children.

COVID-19 is "targeted to attack Caucasians and black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese."

I am sometimes most frustrated by people who agree with me on a big picture issue that have absolutely horrid rationale buttressing their beliefs. I am also a big fan of cracking down on the anti-competitive practices of Big Pharma, just like I am with Big Defense - which is actually an OG conservative notion - but not for the same reasons he is. Crazy conspiracy theory beliefs undermine the larger effort of good points.

It harkens back to when I used to criticize certain things Obama did, and then someone - usually a family member of mine - would be like "Yeah, because he's a Muslim Socialist!" and I would just have to put my head in my hands...

Nowadays it's so rampant that it's hard to even dig down to the core issues society faces. Among what he's saying, Jewish Space Lasers, QAnon, all the indictments, and Biden losing his mind, I don't even known where to begin anymore...

Where are good, honest, decent people like this? Where did they disappear to and why are they the type that are being labeled as bad Republicans?

While I didn't agree with all of his platform he was a man I respected, was honorable and deserving of the office of president.

This clip of John McCain was one of the last times I had respect for a national GOP politician/candidate.

I still had respect for Mitt Romney during his candidacy, until he spilled (immediately debunked) lies about one of 419's largest employers, to grab a 'mic moment.'

Since then, it's been a steady decompensation to the point that someone like Marjory Taylor Green occupies headlines in any way.

I'm old enough to remember how strident simpletons like her were regarded/treated, back when adults actually ran s#.
Now, they're grabbing mics and sucking up air time for 'clicks' and 'likes.'

I quote My Pops a lot, when I get into these conversations. Here's another one:

"Politics always swings on a pendulum. It's always in motion. The wider the swing, the wider the response."

This stuff that's going on the the House is unsustainable. A swing in the opposite direction is inevitable. We might be seeing a momentum and directional shiftin the offing.

I sure hope so. There was a big "culling" of reasonable minded Republicans (Kinzinger, Gonzo, etc) after the second impeachment vote, which gave way to more sway from the crazies that we see now. That torqued me off. If I had still identified as a moderate Republican, I'd actually be even more torqued off because that was essentially a watershed moment when the party as a whole submitted to being a follower-of-one. Like I said, I think the caucus finally booing her and tabling her motion may have begun the swing back - at least I hope. But, it will take another election cycle of losses I think to really get that pendulum in serious motion back the other way.

That's not a dynamic I'm thrilled about either. To avoid calamity, I feel like I have to vote for a party that I never really liked, as a whole (certain individual candidates on the D side I have gotten behind before).

As you correctly pointed out the other day, there are a number of national GOP Politicians out there that have stood up and it's cost them their political career. So they do exist. Just seem to be far and few between.

Honestly, I suspect there are many more that haven't come out of the closet yet. Should Trump lose the next election and drag the party down even further, I suspect more will come out.

That spinelessness is a problem, though. I don't think it's good to have politicians who head in whichever direction the wind is blowing. Look at Graham and Cruz pre-2016 and post-2016. Hell, look at a lot of the caucus.

It's a paradox. The ones who want to remain in power have to capitulate and the ones who don't want to capitulate have to give up their power.

Can't disagree with you on any of that.

Some of the problem is the lies. I mean, there is a segment of the republican party that feels as if Biden is the Anti Christ. He's not of course, but Trump and his MAGA followers as well as some right wing preachers are spreading that stuff and some folks are so weak, they buy in. Just like the damn fools that actually believed that Hillary Clinton ran a brothel out of the basement of Pizza Shop in DC. Or the ones that believed that Obama was a Muslim.

Until we confront the lies and call them out for what they are, we'll have this stuff go on and on.

Pizzagate was a conspiracy theory that claimed that high profile Democrats, including former presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, were running a child sex trafficking ring. It had nothing to do with a brothel per say.

Yes it did. The talked about it being run out of a pizza shop in DC

There is, if you wish to read them, about a half a dozen other articles saying roughly the same thing

From your own source......

THE FACTS: The long-dormant “pizzagate” conspiracy theory – which posited that Democratic Party insiders harbored child sex slaves in a Washington, D.C. pizza parlor — has been revived online in recent days, boosted by prominent social media users including Elon Musk.

So what your saying is that a sex trafficking ring isn't the same as a brothel?

A brothel consists of women consenting to sell their bodies for sex. An agreed amount of currency in exchange for sexual favors. Nothing about child sex slaves implies that at all. Children are not of the age of consent. So no, they are two totally different things. The very words slaves and child take away any comparison to a brothel.

"A brothel consists of women consenting to sell their bodies for sex."

That's only sometimes true. But I get your point.

Bottom line, it was a made up story.

People have the right to free speech. No doubt. But, if they spread vicious crap they need to be held accountable for it.

He’s definitely not RFK or JFK… he’s just trying to ride on their names. Heck he’s not even Teddy K lite. Without the last name, nobody would even entertain the idea of him being POTUS. And he’s a conspiracy NUT. MAGAts love that, but normies don’t.
