Edit: My first impression of the initial clip was more that she was probably paid to show off the outfit while trying to look like she wasn't. I kind of interpreted Trump's gesture in it as "run along and make me money." But then I always expect Trump to be looking for a way to make himself a buck.

Trump's not the only one that has a cult following.

Kamala can afford to keep her millions of dollars of real estate tucked away in a trust untouched, avoiding taxes while she supports policies that would hinder the sale of properties for individuals that have had reversals of fortune under her and Biden's economy. And she would be able to put those exorbitant taxes almost directly at her own use (though doubtless disguised through bureaucracy.) After she tanks the economy while extracting all she can, I'm guessing she's expecting to take advantage of the following overcorrection in policy with regards to taxation. She's not doing anything that would put her personal fortune at risk.

It appears that she's Trump in a skirt when it comes to money. She just realized politics were the golden goose sooner, and is better at playing nice.

Don't get me wrong, she talks a good game. Actually providing the goods she claims to want to deliver, though? I have my doubts. You don't amass that many assets if you truly care about equity the way she claims to.

Honest question: How does a president cut taxes? Doesn't congress write the tax laws? This reminds me of W and how W supposedly raised oil prices.

You're right that it's Congress. The President gets implicated because he submits his fiscal proposals to Congress and those are typically what is debated. I think a lot of the blame that was cast at W - whether merited or not - was due to the Iraq invasion, but I could be wrong.

I know one person on here that swore up and down that W was responsible for the price of oil, BECAUSE he was helping his "oil buddies". That person has been wrong so often it's not funny. It's sad.

It's great that you told part of the story and didn't finish it. In that same time period we had a poster that went by DC Dawg. We had discussions about how the oil market actually worked and as such I learned that a president does not have any control over the oil market. But that's what happens when you're willing to listen and learn things. It's what happens when you seek to find the truth. You should try that some time?
