the list of guys sitting out is hilarious

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I watched Zinter last week. He was pretty good, especially in pass protection.

my hope is that none of these guys will see any significant time - the last 5 quarters of defense has been really bad

He led the team last year after Chubb went down with 4.6 ypc. He also has breakaway speed. He will get plenty of chances.

Most teams don't typically "gameplan" in the preseason. It's more about trying to see specific players in specific situations than trying to beat the opponent. They always still want to win, but its not the focus.

Nice to hear Isaiah Thomas with the sack. I thought he looked pretty good last week.

Berry better figure out how to upgrade this oline

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. -John Wayne

Well, this line will never see the light of day in the regular season. Just need Wills and Conklin back before any serious evaluation can take place.

Not impressed with any aspect of this team so far this preseason.
I hope the starters are father ahead. Still think it’s dumb not to play them at all

it's just frustrating to watch the Texans, Chiefs, Packers play their starters, get into a rhythm and get live action - and have us relegated to this

Play the starters and top backups instead of guys that are going to get cut. Done.

Just saying.

I know its strange to have starters pretty much set and not have guys playing deep in the preseason likely to make the roster.

The health questions are concerning, but it appears the team expects them to be ready for the regular season. Looking for players to potentially develop on the practice squad now and trying to get rookies acclimated OL-wise.

Positives from the first half

3 sacks and a number of QB hits
Foreman. He looks real good.
Ricci has been getting open all game. He will be our third TE if we keep 3

I think it's more they're trying to decide between him and Welch for the practice squad. I'm guessing the Wyoming guy will get more opportunities soon. Hard to evaluate without giving opportunities.

Or they know they are cutting him (he and Harris are both listed at FB on the official site, Harris as FB/C) and want to give him some tape to potentially get picked up by another team. I do think Berry and Stefanski try to "do right by guys."

our OL has zero push on short yardage. To me that's a big indicator

Advantage Ricci? Only have the audio. Trying to get it to Welch again didn't end up so well. I'll have to check that play out once the replay is up.

Most of what will be the initial depth isn't playing. Almost 40 players weren't projected to play today.

With who is playing OT he is trying to not get his QB killed. Do you see who is out there and what is happening every pass play?

gotcha - I'll try chrome for the regular season

This was putrid. Ten yards at the half on the ground? It was good to see us working some sacks. I wanted to say I liked some plays by Martin on D. We may need to make a trade with somebody desperate for our 4th QB for a tackle or two. Our OL isn't viable depth. It is easier to see some of the cuts that should happen. Pretty lousy game, understandably so.

I am really struggling and juggling who should be kept for PS and as to why. One cut, right? Probably its own thread. We may well need parts from the Flood when the cutdown happen.

j/c...

Siaki Ika blows. He'll likely make the team because of his draft position and then get the pink slip next year. Chris Williams took advantage of his opportunities.

Looks like we are on track to lead the league in injuries again. Didn't we get a new weight room or coaches or something?

I don't care who is calling the offensive play calls, they all suck so far. Defense isn't much better. Better hope no starters get injured. Yikes.

I don't care, I've said for years, we need a new Strength and conditioning team.. Something isn't right with the level of injuries we constantly deal with.. Yeah every team does blah blah, but not at this rate and consistent.

I obviously don't like to see the injuries like everyone else but I think the coaches are doing exactly what they want in these games to see what we have. Some of these guys won't even be on the roster come opening day. Some of them have played well regardless of the final scores.

I really hope the NFL scraps this kick off experiment.

Absolutely great effort, no doubt. It appears that's when 74 got hurt?

In 2017 the Browns went 4-0 in the preseason. They turned around and went winless in the regular season. I fully understand that the preseason is the first Browns football fans see since the end of last season. But let's not put too much stock in what we're seeing. You will be shown more chaff than wheat and that's the way it's intended to be.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Teams that believe they are good work on the bottom of the roster during preseason games. Teams that have something to work on or need to figure things out play starters.

I remember Pittsburgher going 0-4 one of the years they won a SB.

I agree. We’ve started the regular season pretty well the last few seasons so I would think our coaching staff knows what it’s doing. Only injuries and a catchable pass that wasn’t prevented us from starting better last year.

You don’t think the Chiefs believe they are good?

Jets have run a pretty intense training camp with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers said it was one of the toughest he can remember. Joint practices with two different teams. Tons of 11 on 11 work.

Meanwhile our QB who is not capable of handling pressure gets more 7 on 7 reps than a pop warner team. It doesn’t seem like we practice actual football very much.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I feel the same way. I know we have a lot of talent and feel that we can win 12 games. On the other hand something doesn’t feel quite right. A friend asked me how the Browns are going to do this season and I said they could win 12 games but they could also lose 10-12 games. I really don’t know what to expect.

Yet had great success with the Packers who he claims training camp wasn't as tough. I guess that goes to show having a tough training camp is a moot point. Let's see if he gets a ring with the Jets this year. Get back to me on that.
