The bit I found most interesting is a comment from a former Trump aide. I've said before, you only have to listen to members of Trumps inner circle and administration from Barr to Pence and everyone in between to k ow what and who Trump is. He inherited his wealth, and it was determined (as much as possible given the available information about his current level of wealth) that he would actually be MORE wealthy if he hadn't sunk what money he did into his businesses and rather just let it sit and gain interest (translation: he's nowhere near as successful or smart as he leads people to believe).

He did not inherit his wealth. His father had money but not 7 billion dollars. When Trump started out in life, his father gave him 1 million to make something of himself. So he took that 1 million and started his businesses, which today are worth billions. He built his empire himself. His Dad had nothing to do with it.

Trump said it was 1million, but many agree it was (and had to be) FAR more than that. Trump also isn't worth anywhere near 7 billion. Current estimates are 3 bills, max and even that is being generous because his real estate portfolio (his strongest collection of assets) is still relatively low since before COVID. He has a history of way overstating his worth in order to pump up his standing when net worth lists are published... and given his court case in NY, this shouldn't come as a surprise.

To be fair, after I posted that I went back and did some quick checking, and the reality seems to be a little more complicated than simply "he did/didn't outperform a simple investment". At times he has and other times he hasn't. As of today, he hasn't... but that is largely because his specific investments are having a tough time recovering from certain large market movements. I have a harder time poking fun at him for this, since those same situations bit a LOT of people.

To you the facts are whatever trump says they are. No matter how many times he lies every time he gives a speech or talks at a rally.

She was an academia insider, her father's name carried weight throughout her schooling. Her sugar daddy, Willie Brown, greased the wheels for her in public office (straight up appointed her to some positions.) What exactly did she do on her own?

In 2010 she was elected as California AG. She took office on January 3, 2011, and would be re-elected in 2014 to serve until she resigned on January 3, 2017, to take her seat in the United States Senate.

Now maybe you don't consider that earning where she is now. Maybe you don't think running for office based on your record and being elected over and over again as work. Maybe you don't consider the jobs of district attorney, state AG and senator as work. I don't know. But if so, that would be weird.
